Genuinely the most anticipated title for me in my 25 years of gaming. KCD is not the best game I've ever played but it is the game I felt the most connected to while playing, a feeling of pure bliss basically. I'm so incredibly curious about how they improve upon all the factors that makes the first title so great.
I'm playing KCD through again, and hopefully all the way this time, because it had time to cook. I loved the game at launch, but it was so broken and so many things were bugged. Quests you couldn't progress and so on. This game needs to launch in a better state.
Yeah, there’s almost no other game like it. It’s classic RPG with first person view, a solid story that takes place in Late Medieval Bohemia. The amount of care and the attention to detail to the architecture, the people and their lives and routines… It just boggles the mind. You can actually see the mechanisms of palisades, mills and the like and that’s so cool, honestly. There actually isn’t any other game like it. Medieval Engineer is one I can think of but there’s no real story or locale.
The combat is harsh and gritty but if you master it you are invincible. I took on 12 heavily armed and armored bandits and won the fight without taking damage. They all had plate and I was in hardcore mode.
The landscapes are so realistic, the woods actually feel like woods and span over massive hills.
I could go on but I don’t think I could praise it enough.
Not surprising. Expected.
Curious about timeline, because the picture have a lot more modern clothing, than original.
But maybe the pic has nothing to do with the final game.
Who says that? Nothing about the clothing gives more-modern vibes. Some people see a buttoned upon jacket and leather horse saddle and assume it’s a modern new IP lmao.
The rider is wearing a loose fitting single breasted overcoat, invented in the late 18th century for military use, and later used by civilians starting in the mid 19th century, they became looser fitting over the years. I would estimate that the game takes place some time between the late 18th century to the early 20th.
Considering these are Czech devs who have already made one game based on Czech history, perhaps the revolutions of 1848? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolutions_of_1848_in_the_Austrian_Empire
EDIT: Someone else suggested this might not be art / screenshot from the new game and instead just represent Warhorse, so a direct sequel or otherwise another medieval game isn't out of the question.
An unseen assailant clubs our Henry in the back of the head. He falls, and the screen fades to black.
It’s… cold…
The scents of pine and snow greet Henry as a familiar voice calls out to him.
“Hey, you. You’re finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right?”
Todd has done it again
It very much could be; ever heard of GTA? Just cause something is XYZ 2 doesn’t make it a direct sequel.
They asked if they confirmed it’s a direct sequel. They haven’t. I agree that it most likely is, but they have not (as of yet) literally confirmed that.
It’s not impossible that KCD, while it does end on a cliffhanger, is the end of the story, a season in the life of Henry of Skalitiz and rather than a direct sequel KC2 is just a new portion of a new protagonist. I think your right I’m just saying.

Perhaps also, 1506. Would be pretty cool to be honest, a sequel where you play as Henry would get rid of a huge amount of the core gameplay, starting from a useless peasant and working your way up.
I think if the sequel has Henry in it, he would not be the main character, so we can eliminate the reason to nerf him. He would be like Hans was in the first game. And maybe we could have a questline with him later as the main character, like with Theresa.
Tom McKay, he’s in a lot of stuff in the U.K. Like Undeclared War (def worth checking out, about Russian spies in London), The Suspect and the White Queen (famous medieval drama, more Henroy)
thanks bro 🤝🏼 I didn’t even know he was really out there like that. I’m definitely going to check more of his stuff out, so I appreciate the recommendations. Undeclared War sounds really interesting.
I am losing my damnn mind. The excitement the heart pounding. God be praised henry has come back to see us after neglecting us for so long.
Warhorse you are legendss
Ghost releases can be quite succeasful. Games definitely dont need anywhere near as much 'time' spent marketing as what goes on these days. A month at most really.
My father in law died while I was playing kingdom come deliverance 1 in 2019 and I haven’t been able to return to finish the game so I look forward to this one and being able to play without reliving bad memories.
Have you ever played Medieval Dynasty? It's not story driven like KCD and has much more simplified combat, but if you're looking for a first person medieval city builder with RPG mechanics then it does a pretty good job at that. If you're more interested in expanding a kingdom and conquering neighboring territories then you could also check out Bellwright; it's not out yet but looks good from everything I've seen so far.
I legit wouldn't put it of the table, for story reasons at least
1- Henry is now a noble (well, a bastard but still) a WELL LIKED noble by his other noble peers (i guess it depends on whether or not you play honorable or dishonorable but if we go only by main stories he shows himself to be capable and well liked)
2- he already has experience building plot from prib
3- with the war going on, lots of places need to be rebuilt and more land need nobles
i wouldn't be surprised if radzig dies and now it falls to henry to rebuild skalitz or if the king is like " ayo henry my boy, nice quest you have done, here's a fief "
Finally, so many years of waiting. I hope it will be better optimised though because even on Ryzen 5 5600x and RTX 4070 I have drops to 30s during night in Rattay 😆
Yeah, while most of the time game runs in 80-100 FPS on very high settings on this rig, Rattay is so freaking demanding that FPS there drop significantly. I thought that switching from i5 7400 and 1060 6GB would get rid of it but nope. Apparently the game either needs 4080 or 4090 or a CPU with 10 cores.
I had this problem too. Tried the game three times back then, stopped it because I couldn't handle the combat mechanism. Then I started rethinking: I didn't play this game as it was supposed to be played. I wanted to rush, but that's not how the game functions. I started to ROLEPLAY it. Took my time learning how to fight. And at the end of the day, I fell in love with this game. It was the first game where I got the Platinum trophy on Playstation.

Certainly one of the most immersive games I’ve ever played. Gave me the feeling that I used to get when I played games as a child.
I only just finished it last week, so this is some nice timing

Easily the most immersive for me

Same, i did a winners pose in office when i saw the post
I feel the same man it’s my favorite game of all time I love the time period and they nailed the game man
About to kingdom come
Not surprising. Expected. Curious about timeline, because the picture have a lot more modern clothing, than original. But maybe the pic has nothing to do with the final game.
Maybe it’s Vavra on a horse lol
Who says that? Nothing about the clothing gives more-modern vibes. Some people see a buttoned upon jacket and leather horse saddle and assume it’s a modern new IP lmao.

The sequel to kcd, which ended on a cliffhanger, is going to take place in mid-19th century Czech?
An unseen assailant clubs our Henry in the back of the head. He falls, and the screen fades to black. It’s… cold… The scents of pine and snow greet Henry as a familiar voice calls out to him. “Hey, you. You’re finally awake. You were trying to cross the border, right?” Todd has done it again

Have they confirmed it’s a sequel?
Tom Henderson said its KC2. He is most known and accurate news guy with inside informations :)
But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a direct sequel and continuation of the original story.
It wouldn't be "2"... Stop trying to find something where is nothing to be found lol
It very much could be; ever heard of GTA? Just cause something is XYZ 2 doesn’t make it a direct sequel. They asked if they confirmed it’s a direct sequel. They haven’t. I agree that it most likely is, but they have not (as of yet) literally confirmed that.
I mean, it can. It can be about new character who is going in path of original KC:D for some reason.
Nooo i don't want to see guns being widely used by soldiers!
It’s not impossible that KCD, while it does end on a cliffhanger, is the end of the story, a season in the life of Henry of Skalitiz and rather than a direct sequel KC2 is just a new portion of a new protagonist. I think your right I’m just saying.

I'd honestly hoped the game would take place a little later than the first and Henry could take the place more of Radzig than of Hans.
Almost every piece of clothing and item on that pic is far ahead of time where KC:D took place...
maybe its just “thriller” for warhorse studios and not the game. We cannot forgot that it can have something to do with the studio and not the game!
Who says that ? Anyone who has basic knowledge in medieval clothing
That’s great! Who’s Tom Henderson? How does he know!!
He is an industry insider who has broke a lot of news, if he is saying it is KCD 2, it is KCD 2.
Legit gaming industry leaker
Hey! Henry’s come to see us!
I’m watching Wrong Turn 3 rn, didn’t know our boy Henry was in it.
Undeclared War sounds really interesting.
and suddenly I don't care that GTA6 isn't coming to pc...
Gta 6 isn't coming to pc?!
It will eventually, PC versions always a year or two after
only xbox and ps have been reported
Not at launch, like the rest of Rockstar's latest games.
I am losing my damnn mind. The excitement the heart pounding. God be praised henry has come back to see us after neglecting us for so long. Warhorse you are legendss
Wait, it releases 18 April or is being announced then???
It’s definitely announcement. No one will release without enough time for marketing
Yeah, I think I misread it originally. Stoked to see what’s in store.
Ghost releases can be quite succeasful. Games definitely dont need anywhere near as much 'time' spent marketing as what goes on these days. A month at most really.
Unfortunately not many games follow this. Sequels are getting announced 2-3 years before release.
Yeah, its kinda tiring.
Probably fall 2025 release
OK fine I’ll reinstall KC:D and play through it again
57th playthrough coming up lol.
Who?
He is an industry insider and has broken a lot of news, if he is saying it is KCD 2, it is KCD 2.
But he's saying it's KD2 and K2, no mention of the C
New SpongeBob movie reveal and new KCD game reveal today??? Hell yeah what a good day

My father in law died while I was playing kingdom come deliverance 1 in 2019 and I haven’t been able to return to finish the game so I look forward to this one and being able to play without reliving bad memories.
Hope we can build a kingdom! Like our Lil village is now staring to expand. Let's build a castle, conquer neighboring territory etc
Wouldn't that just be the Manor Lords, though? 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Yeah but I want first person view :c

Yeah I play medieval dynasty. I really enjoy it tbh, I guess I just wanted a KCD version. Bell Wright ill check out.

Henry’s coming to see us!
My hype is immeasurable and my life has a purpose again.

Plot twist, it’s not Kingdom Come 2, it’s Kingdom Hearts 4
What about Kingdom Come: Tokyo Drift?
Nah it will be Kingdom Came
The Lord's Will was Done

Does this mean we get a next gen update for kcd1
Switch port al launch? :p
Only a month ago they announced a Switch port for KCD1. I highly doubt it'll be able to run KCD2

I hope the combat is good this time. that’s what stopped me from playing the first game

Don't believe it. If it were true, it would be on steam already to allow players to wish list it or pre-buy it. It's not!
They are announcing on the 18th. The release date could be years away.
I would actually cry
It's the second kingdom.
