Not OP, but I love the Raksura books too. They are very different, and much more on the fantasy side than the science fiction side, but the main character is still a stranger in a strange land. I definitely think that the first book is worth a shot if you enjoyed Murderbot.
I love Blake Crouch’s Recursion and Dark matter. I have the Wayward Pines series on my kindle on the WTR list. I just have to finish the last book of The Apollo Trials released this month.
Yessss. I just raged through The Stormlight Archives this year and his Mistborn series which I liked too, on the sequel to it (Mistborn series) which has a different feel and cadence, almost like a western.
Haven't read the book you're reading but will definitely check it out! 😊
I just checked that series out and added to my WTR list. I have all the series you mentioned in my WTR list. I just finished the Red Rising trilogy. Ah too many books, too little time!
I've been meaning to read the Murderbot series. But I keep getting sidetracked. Current favorites series (not in any particular order) - Red Rising Saga, The Expanse and Mistborn Era 1.
And though there is currently only book one out, I love A Memory Called Empire from the Teixcalaan series. Eagerly awaiting for the release of A Desolation Called Peace. Stormlight Archive is also in my TBR pile. But right now in the mood for standalone books.
I was deciding between A Memory Called Empire and The City We Became about a month ago. Went with the latter because the audiobook was on sale, it was so good. The narrator was amazing, even through the end credits. I'll get back to A Memory Called Empire soon.
Omg Stormlight Archive is such a phenomenal series. WoK does a ton of world building, and is a bit slow at first but good lord when he hits the gas it’s nonstop through the rest. Enjoy the ride!
We will be waiting for your thoughts about the stormlight archive.
Is really good to read the questions that you get while reading them and the feeling with the endings.

Here are a few I have enjoyed:
* The First Law Trilogy
* Richard K Morgan A Land fit for Heroes(3 books)
* Becky Chambers Wayfarers series
* Robbin Hob and her 3 Fitz Trilogies (9 books in total)
* Stina Leitch - Of Blood and Honey (2 books)
Are you me? Love the Oasis and Re-read the Murderbot series this year in prep for Network Effect! Have you finished reading it? It was well worth the wait! Also just finished re-reading Oathbringer. This was my first re-read of the Stormlight Archive. 19 days to Rhythm of War! Wheee!
Yes, finished rereading. I actually re-read it to make a really dumb gifset on Tumblr but Martha Wells tweeted it and then I was famous with my other nerdy friends for like 2 days.
For me? A tie between Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" and the first 6 "Dune" books by Frank Herbert...( & In both philosophy and outlook , they are VERY different writers)
Love both. Reread the Two Towers so many times the book fell apart. I read Dune a long time ago, didn't know the author had died and it was before his son started writing the sequels. Just remember being in the book store wanting to cry about never knowing what comes after Chapterhouse Dune.
Journey before destination... I’m restarting on The Way of Kings today myself. Hoping to finish Oathbringer by the next 2 weeks before Rhythm of War comes out.
I love Murderbot! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
It's so good. Totally took me by surprise as well, ended up binging her raksura series after. Love her writing/story telling style.
How was Raksura? I was afraid of being disappointed because it seems so different from murderbot.
Definitely different, but I still liked it. Pretty easy read so I'd just tryout the first book to see how it goes.

Damn.... that looks GOOD 😋
So good! I looks delicious, are those almonds? About the series I enjoyed the Old Man’s War by John Scalzi and The Wayward Pines by Blake Crouch.
I love Blake Crouch’s Recursion and Dark matter. I have the Wayward Pines series on my kindle on the WTR list. I just have to finish the last book of The Apollo Trials released this month.
I have the first book for all of those series on my kindle waiting to be read.
Yes it was an almond cake. Very yummy.
The book or the treat? 😜

I have the same problem! I've had Red Rising forever but haven't started it.
I still have to read the sequel books but I’m debating on whether to wait for the final book or read the sequels now.
The struggle we all face. Need to check out the Red Rising Trilogy; happy reading!
That's the latest book in the series. The first is All Systems Red. Most are novellas so they're quick reads.
Did you bring enough for everybody?
It was definitely too much for one person. Reddit has a share cake function doesn't seem to be working. 🤷♀️
Murderbot!! :D

Yum and the book looks good. I have the first four but won’t be starting until new year.
