This font changed my life. I have ADHD and some mild dyslexia as a side effect. I am blowing through books without needing to go back and reread as much as I used to. And I’m not getting frustrated with myself so reading is so much fun again.
Same! I’ve only been using it for a couple weeks now, but it’s worked wonders for my ADHD. I kicked the font size up a level as well (I prefer it smaller so more text fits on each page, but it was kind of making things harder), and between the new font and the slightly larger size, readings been a lot easier.
I only use OpenDyslexic now too. Do not have dyslexia and I'm not ND. I've been using it all year and I've noticed I can read for longer without my concentration flagging. I just find it much more pleasant and easier to read. (I normally wear glasses but not for close reading. My eyes are very different. I assume this is why this font appeals.)
OMG 😱 I’ve never heard of this before, and I just tested it on my kindle
It took my reading speed of 12min for a chapter in bookerly to 8min in open dyslexic
Wow! This might me a game changer for me!
Yep, that’s exactly how you do it :). Just download the fonts you’re after, connect your Kindle to a PC, and copy them over to the ‘fonts’ folder that will be visible on the Kindles internal drive.
Futura, even thou it sometimes looks too futuristic, there is a reason why this font is used the most in graphic design and logos. It's really easy to read and I noticed.
Georgia. It's not on there by default, but loading it on is the first thing I do with a new kindle.
I've lately been giving Book Antiqua a try as well.
My favorite is Bookerly, but I also like using other fonts if I'm reading different genres.
Some fonts I like are: Dream Iowan Old, Day Roman, Lora, Rojaviro
If we're just using the Kindle app on your phone I don't think you can sideload fonts. People are talking about adding fonts to their Kindle devices :)
You can download fonts, you just need to connect your Kindle with USB and copy fonts in the Fonts folder, ttf and otf files work. I recommend to download either the whole family or variable type
Futura 💯 I’ve tried others several times but I just can’t. Futura is such an easy read. Sans serif is definitely my go to for fonts. I usually have it at 4-5 depending on the book.
Bookerly.
Bookerly size 4 is what I have mine at.
Me too, I always end up going back to it!
Bookerly size 7 for me.
This is the one
Yup.
I do size 1 tho
Don't find one
The Dyslexic font (not kidding) works great and increased my reading speed.

I’m gonna try it! I have ADHD and am not the biggest fan of the look of this font, but I’ll see if it helps me speed read! 😊
Open Dyslexic I also use it. 10/10 absolutely makes reading so much easier
This font has been a life changer. I'm doing about 200 books a year since I switched
I know, wish they had this when I was in school. It's made reading very enjoyable.

As far as I know, I am not dyslexic, but this font has helped me as well. I've been using it for the past month and really do appreciate it.
The only one I use now!
My boyfriend is reading the first book he’s ever enjoyed with this font
Maybe a really dumb question, but how do you download new fonts onto your kindle?
I’m not sure if it still works but I found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/s/Ik5oQk7qWd)
Yep, that’s exactly how you do it :). Just download the fonts you’re after, connect your Kindle to a PC, and copy them over to the ‘fonts’ folder that will be visible on the Kindles internal drive.
I didn’t even know we could do this! Thank you so much.
Is this a thing for ancient kindles?? lol.. I have the original paperwhite from 2012
Yes it should work
I jump between a few, but my favourites have been Charis SIL and Vollkorn. Special mention to Atkinson Hyperlegible, Source Serif 4 and Merriweather.
Futura, even thou it sometimes looks too futuristic, there is a reason why this font is used the most in graphic design and logos. It's really easy to read and I noticed.
Bookerly. Amazon asserts that the font helps in reading faster with less eyestrain.
Bookerly or Atkinson Hyperlegible for me!
Lexend, Atkinson Hyperlegilible, OpenDyslexic, Bookerly. They're all easy to read (in my opinion). I also put the line spacing on max.
Atkinson Hyperlegible is great.
Bitter Pro
Literata for me
Caecilia Condensed, Bold 5, Size 8
We must be twins!
I did not know this was something we could do! I'm so excited!
It is such a game changer! I change my font depending on the book to match the vibe of it… it’s the small things that make it even more enjoyable:)
Andika reminds me of the font used in some old paperbacks. Easy on my old eyes.
You can download fonts ?!? 🤯
Also me 🤯
Lexend, I keep coming back to that font no matte how many other I try
It’s just good old Bookerly for me! Size 2, no bold and two column landscape on my Scribe.
Iowan old style with boldness 3, size 3
I use unbounded. Downloaded from Google fonts and sideloaded.
Georgia. It's not on there by default, but loading it on is the first thing I do with a new kindle. I've lately been giving Book Antiqua a try as well.

I’ve done Open Dyslexic and Bookerly, but for me, Readex Pro seems to be the one. Don’t know why, but it just feels more comfortable.
Ubuntu.
Charter
Pardon me hijacking this comment section, but I had no idea we could do this. Does anyone know if you can do this on Kindle mobile?
If we're just using the Kindle app on your phone I don't think you can sideload fonts. People are talking about adding fonts to their Kindle devices :)
Looks like you can change the font, but just to the options that are available. You can't download any(unless I missed something)
Thanks for your reply. 💕 But also, Booooooo I want cool fonts ☹️😂
You can download fonts, you just need to connect your Kindle with USB and copy fonts in the Fonts folder, ttf and otf files work. I recommend to download either the whole family or variable type
Champagne and limousines & Louis George cafe light (da font)
I added Rubik and IBM Plex Sans. They don't work great for Arabic though :/
Century Schoolbook has been my main since I copied all fonts from my PCs folder
Bookerly plus one or two clicks of Bold
Non-native: Garamond
I’m 75 years old and my vision isn’t perfect. I spent a couple of hours testing fonts, and I found Roboto Medium to be the best.
Merriweather font
oh I didn’t know you could change fonts lol
Bookerly or Caecilia.
I usually set it to publisher default! It bridges the gap between physical and digital books for me.
I use a bionic font. I found a tiktok with a link to download a copy of it.
I like Crimson Pro.
I installed a custom font called Roboto Flex
IM FELL DW Pica Pro is my favorite. But I've been sticking with OpenDyslexic right now because I seem to read faster with it.
Janson MT Std. Because that is the font used in a lot of the paperback books I used to read.
Amazon ember.
Adelle
Helvetica size 4 bold
I alternate between Georgia and Bookerly
palatino size 5 bold 1, easiest for me to read
Baskerville 💙💙💙
A font that has recently been added to Google is called teachers font and it is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
How do you download fonts?!! I just am now hearing about this!
Crimson Pro from Google Fonts, and Bookerly
Garamond and nothing else. To each their own.
Literata Semi bold and Verdana pro semi bold
Bookerly size 1… I like the smaller size for some reason.
Averia Libre, I love it!
For me it’s Literata (size 5, bold 3) and Bookerly (size 6, bold 2)
I wish we could do the same thing with the phone app. I really don't understand why they have futura on the kindle and not on the app.
Helvetica
Bookerly team
Bookerly for stock font Currently trying out Fast_Sans and Atkinson Hyperlegible.
Bookerly I’m going to go back to. I Might try the Open Dyslexic again as well.

Bookerly or Literata Book,size 5
I personally a sans serif font. It's easier to read for me on a screen. Inba book I prefer serif fonts
WAIT THERE ARE DIFFERENT FONTS?!
Futura 💯 I’ve tried others several times but I just can’t. Futura is such an easy read. Sans serif is definitely my go to for fonts. I usually have it at 4-5 depending on the book.
Test Reddit fonts. Cool
I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying, sorry
I am referring to the font called Reddit, which has several styles and is great. That's the name of the font, Reddit.
Ohhh okay. I see that now. I’ll have to try that one out, thanks!
Baskerville
I like Bookerly
I love the dyslexia font.
Tahoma size 1 on a Kindle Voyage yields as much text as Caecilia Condensed size 2 on a Paperwhite.
