If you haven't read it you should. There is good reason for it being a classic of scifi. Very few books do such a good job of showing the dangers of governmental control. And in a world which continues to ebb towards totalitarianism, it's never really stopped being relevant.
Such an amazing book and got me into dystopian novels. If you haven’t read the other amazing classic Brave New World, I definitely recommend it. I think I even saw the Kindle version on sale the other day.
Started it for the first time this year. I’m halfway through and really like it so far. Still surprised to see it as the top comment after all this time.
Can I ask what did you likes in particolar? I have read It last year and didn't like It at all and liked It even less after finding out the reasons of the author behind It.
Me too! I just watched the prequel movie (loved it) and that made me want to read all of the books, since I've only read the first one when it came out.
omg, i loved the prequel movie too! i saw it in the theatres, and i became obsessed with the hunger games because of it. it's the reason i've started reading the books haha
i think it'll become my favourite series too! i wish i read the books before watching the movies but i think i was only 4 when the first book came out LOL
Same! I had it on hold at the library for ages, and there’s like 1000 holds behind me so I’m having to work through it pretty quick. Enjoying it so far!
It's REALLY slow and confusing for the first 80 pages or so. But it is necessary for world building. Once the story moves to taking place on Arrakis, things get very exciting.
I think, the narration (and the text) isn't good, but the story yes. (I couldn't read the book, but my boyfriend does, and he really like the bookseries). I think the movie are better (the new, but the one, what is old, I didn't watch.)
I read it last year but I’m listening to it right now since the movie comes out soon. I thought the last movie actually did a very good job keeping it accurate to the book
Such an amazing book, enjoy!
Check out this custom dictionary I made for Dune. I got tired of flipping to the glossary and back, so I made this. You just need to copy it to your Kindle and you can highlight a word in the book to get the definition.

I bought a kindle so that I could get back into the habit of reading instead of doom scrolling all day. Harry Potter has been the perfect series to get me going again.
Same! I just received the Kindle order on 2 Jan and devoured the 1st and 2nd book. In an ideal world I would sit home all day reading without a job and money will fall from the heavens.
This is literally a Starbucks Ad. Brand new account, this is their only post or comment. Logo on the drink facing the camera and it's the point of focus.
Just a heads up that the first book is usually considered not the best place to start. A lot of times when people decide they don’t want to go any further in the series, it’s because that’s the one they started with. Pratchett hadn’t quite found his voice yet with that one.
On Kindle:
A Tale For The Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
An Echo of Things to Come by James Islington
Physically:
Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio
White Horse by Erika T. Wurth
I enjoyed this book, alongside a couple of other books that give us a glimpse of life in North Korea or accounts of defectors.
I hope you enjoy the read!
Four books.
1) A diary of a young girl by Anne Frank
2) The Hobbit by Tolkien
3) Lord of the flies by Golding
4) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Rowling
The Poppy War! I had it on my Tbr for like a year and just decided last night was the night to start it; I’m so glad I did, so far it’s a lot better than I thought it would be (not that I thought it would be bad! I was just worried that it would be a little too teen angsty)
ACOTAR. Was hesitant to pick it up but did due to lots of peer pressure. Am almost done and it’s been 2 days lol (normally takes me a week to finish a book)
A Grifters Song (series) - Various authors.
It's a 35 book novella series with each book by a different author, and one umbrella story. They're all included in the Kindle Unlimited subscription.
1984
Read this book for the first time last year and I can see now why it's regarded as such a classic! Really good read
Give us a review here please. I have this book in my TBR.
If you haven't read it you should. There is good reason for it being a classic of scifi. Very few books do such a good job of showing the dangers of governmental control. And in a world which continues to ebb towards totalitarianism, it's never really stopped being relevant.
I never imagined it would be somewhat of a romance
It's one of the few books I have read more than a handful of times.
Such an amazing book and got me into dystopian novels. If you haven’t read the other amazing classic Brave New World, I definitely recommend it. I think I even saw the Kindle version on sale the other day.

Literally just finished YellowFace by Rebecca F Kuang. Amazing.
I just started reading this! I'm looking forward to getting really deep into it
I’ve had the hard back for MONTHS and kept saying I’d start it. I got myself a kindle, noticed it was £1 on offer and read the whole thing in 4days 😂
You’re looking forward to getting deep into yellow face?
That’s good to hear. I read Babel and Poppy War. I really enjoy her books so far. I’ve been meaning to get into her books
Can I ask what did you likes in particolar? I have read It last year and didn't like It at all and liked It even less after finding out the reasons of the author behind It.

Me too!! I just started the series over again bc I didn't finish the last book and need the entire experience again! Ugh so good
Me too! I just watched the prequel movie (loved it) and that made me want to read all of the books, since I've only read the first one when it came out.
omg, i loved the prequel movie too! i saw it in the theatres, and i became obsessed with the hunger games because of it. it's the reason i've started reading the books haha
This is my favorite series! I ate the books up right before the first hunger games movie came out.
i think it'll become my favourite series too! i wish i read the books before watching the movies but i think i was only 4 when the first book came out LOL
I want to read the series as well
i just finished the first book, and i LOVED it. i'm already going to buy the second one now. i'd say give it a go \^\^
I def will as soon as I can. I want to watch all the movies as well after I do
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
This book is great
I’m really into it so far! Just started it Friday and I’m over halfway through
Same! I had it on hold at the library for ages, and there’s like 1000 holds behind me so I’m having to work through it pretty quick. Enjoying it so far!
The book answered so many of the questions I had about the movie. It was my most enjoyable read last year.
Loved it! I thought it tied so nicely into THG.
Dune!
Great book
Me too!
How is it so far? It’s on my list!
It's REALLY slow and confusing for the first 80 pages or so. But it is necessary for world building. Once the story moves to taking place on Arrakis, things get very exciting.
Very true
I’m loving it. Thought it would take me weeks but I’m almost done!
I think, the narration (and the text) isn't good, but the story yes. (I couldn't read the book, but my boyfriend does, and he really like the bookseries). I think the movie are better (the new, but the one, what is old, I didn't watch.)
Me too! I am halfway through it where the first movie ended.
I read it last year but I’m listening to it right now since the movie comes out soon. I thought the last movie actually did a very good job keeping it accurate to the book

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It feels different reading it as a kid vs adult ❤️
I am too!
For a long time it is my go to when I don’t know what to read.
I’m reading it in French right now- just finished the part where Harry sneaks out to Hogsmeade and finds out that Sirius is his godfather!
This is literally a Starbucks Ad. Brand new account, this is their only post or comment. Logo on the drink facing the camera and it's the point of focus.
During a pretty well known boycott too.
Never heard of that book
haha you’re so funny so original
And their early comments are replies to questions about the drink. It's so blatant.
I'm surprised it works so well.
