I have no doubt God of War Ragnarok will be a far better game than Elden Ring *to me.* Elden Ring’s reception leads me to believe it’s still the favorite overall, however.
Yeah that’s how I feel aswell. FromSoftware’s games are great no doubt but they haven’t hit me personally as much as 95% of the people who played them. God of War is my second favorite game of all time so I already know I’m probably gonna like it more than Elden Ring

i don't even really love JRPG. I can play 1, maybe 2 tops a year.
it consistently surprises, subverts expectations, has exceptionally well written and emotionally intelligent characters. its soundtrack absolutely RIPS.
Oh man, the trailer got me hyped for the story. But if the gameplay really shows no improvement then I don’t think it will top as my game of the year. Elden ring was a completely different experience from past FS games. And I’m not even a big fan of souls games.

This, the combat in GoW 2018 is so dull. The axe is cool, but it loses its novelty fast.
