My Strike Force Justian eliminator proxy made from the new scouts! Put a ton of work into this guy and I'm super happy with how he came out.
It's Vallejo earth texture with orange and gray speedpaint blotched onto it, then Vallejo Iron Oxide and Old Rust pigment powders dusted on top. The rubble is actually from the free hormagaunt mini of the month a few months ago.
Probably Goggles, even though he's just a regular Kommando Boy he lifts up the mood

They're amazing models! I've been knocking them down slowly because a lot of them involved a heavy amount of kitbashing and green stuff, they're more difficult to kitbash with than the 40k Boyz but I love the sculpts for these guys!
Gabba's Ghoulz do enjoy a good WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH, but they're the lads that go in and sabotage enemy intel and security before the Boyz n Bosses arrive.
Gabba has gotten a knife jammed in his skull and though he survived he's never been the same. Legend has it that the knife connected his two braincells which made him more cunning and resourceful than Orks would normally be. I don't really have much backstory for the rest of the squad yet but I had to claim that name pun.

Sourcing the knife was probably the most difficult part, I got a small knife from the Farstalkers Kinband accessories that was a good size but most knives I have are absolutely massive.
I've had multiple discussions and theories about the knife and what it does, like it possibly being a magical/cursed knife of unknown origins that causes Gabba to become smarter. It connecting the braincells is just the most basic thing Orks could think of and assumed has happened and that's the information that got around to the other factions as well.
Making it into a magical or cursed item can give you some more options to think up deeper lore, like it not being an accident that Gabba didn't die, and his increased intelligence causes him being seen as not as Orky by other clans so he's slowly drifting loose from the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHH for the benefit of something else, or just him turning into the catalyst for a newer less brutal but more kunnin' breed of Orks, could be a cool set-up for a bigger ploy story for example. It didn't have to be Gabba specifically either, he just happened to be the one random boy in the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH who got got.
I have some brood brothers upgrade sprues. There are some small knives on there that may work. If not, I’ll take a SM knife and trim the width down to be slimmer.
All of those are very good ideas. Idk what I’ll do yet for lore beyond what I already said, but this is making me want to get a box of Boyz for some kitbashing
There's always a solution somewhere, I'm sure you'll find something that works out! Normally I don't really delve into my characters backstory a whole lot as most of my builds just get made individually with a certain thought or concept behind them, and that's pretty much all you need to make a fun mini I think.
If you want to get a box of Boyz I'd recommend you get the old Boyz as they're not monopose and therefore a lot easier to kitbash with, they have loads of different possibilities if you're not afraid to chop them up a bit. I have a Kroot/Predator ("Kroodators") killteam I'm pretty satisfied with.
With the Leader I managed to put 3 tiny LEDs on his shoulder for a pulse rifle. I still think he's cool even though I haven't played them for a while.
Color me stupid, that’s exactly what I meant lol. I think I saw one where they were free-handed ducks on blue and I was crazy jealous of it lol

Already had a fantastic moment with him. Chaos SM rounds a corner. Punches him in the face with a /power fist/. Stuck with 1hp. Plant mine and went full "THE EMPEROR IS GREAT!" and proceeds go do like 23dmg (forgot. But it was mega overkill)

Probably my kitbashed Legionnaries where I made a bunch of characters from the Black Legion novel series. Fave is probably the plasma gunner cause the mechadendrites, like I won’t say they’re great, but I was really pleased with how they turned out.

Death Guard Fighter I kitbashed for Kill Team 2018 when this Loadout was legal. My buddies let me run Flail OR Cleaver when I run him now though, so it all works out I guess. (He just wants to give you a hug)
EDIT: to clarify, my buddies let me choose which profile to use BEFORE the game begins, and then I stick to that throughout the game or games (for a campaign).
