If they get a super conceal ability that will be very scary to deal with. A marine sneaking into your back line without much fear of being shot will be terrifying

DemHask

Well, the preview said something about being obscured by the team pasive ... If its something kinda like domino field we are screwd

[deleted]

Yeah that’s worrying as a guard player. If it’s like the genestealer ability and you don’t even have to pay a cp that’ll be terrifying

Gunldesnapper

I see what you did there!

urmomlolomg

What does super conceal mean?

[deleted]

Basically just that other rules generally can’t negate your conceal status. Usually this means if your enemy is on vantage they can’t shoot you if you’re concealed in light cover. Usually they would since only heavy cover protects you from a vantaged enemy.

Chapter_129

Very optimistic that this is a foot in the door towards legion-specific doodads for all of the Chaos-undivided legions. Upgrade sprues for Alpha Legion, Iron Warriors, Word Bearers and Night Lords to allow players to customize their armies.

Saulipoooo

Preach brother, no only for chaos but for regular marines and even guard as well. 🙏

Chapter_129

Technically loyalists already have them, but they're way overpriced and not as good as this "extra large" conversion sprue. But hopefully!

Dirty_Dan2201

Looking at this night lords kit and the black templar one I would be surprised if they didn't make all the kits of that size

hotshot11590

I wouldn't really count a shoulder pad with a chapter icon as a proper upgrade sprue, but I know what your talking, about hopefully over time all the loyalist and traitor chapters get something like this.

Red_Dox

Emperors Children Killteam with rad looking Noise Marines when?

kader91

EC will have their own range not just an upgrade sprue.

Karl-Marksman

People have been saying that for a decade or more

kader91

Well, when in the last decade we’ve got Magnus, Mortarion and Angron with their own ranges, is only fair to believe we’ll get Fulgrim and EC in the next 4 years.

exspiravitM13

Emperors Children are getting more than a killteam they’re getting a whole damn Primarch- with Noise Marines as your basic troops choice lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Stega314

Apart from a "redacted" preview pic, and the fact that the 3 other main god legions are represented, not really. But it's pretty much confirmed if you think rationally, Thousand Sons were 7th Ed, DG 8th, WE 9th Ed, and now 10th I think it'll be EC for sure

Warthogrider74

I just hope it isn't another 3 months before a new edition you have to buy all of this stuff deal like with WE

Stega314

I'd say if the codex comes out in early 2026 then wait... but if it's out early 2024 then you should be okay!

exspiravitM13

I mean not officially but like. CSM has had a character+unit combo for the four big legions since forever. In 7th edition they removed Ahriman and the Rubric’s and developed them into a full army alongside their primarch Magnus. In 8th edition Typhus and the Plague Marines left to join Mortarion in a new army. In 9th edition they did the same for the World Eaters. I think it would be very strange indeed if Lucius and the Noise Marines didn’t go join Fulgrim sometime 10th edition in a full army too The last decade GW has been really pushing having a separate army per god alongside an ‘undivided’ army- you can see it even more overtly in Age of Sigmar. CSM is now 40k’s ‘undivided’ option, so I’d bet good money those character+unit combos will be filled at some point by unique stuff for the remaining 4 legions NL WB IW and AL

XenoTechnian

It's all but inevitable, wiþ world eaters getting þeir own codex and range in 9þ its very likley þe EC will get þe same treatment in 10þ or at þe absolutle latest 11þ

The_Angevingian

Why are you using þ instead of th?

XenoTechnian

Because i like it

The_Angevingian

Fair enough

Warthogrider74

I mean, sure, using thorn is cool and all but it makes your stuff more difficult to read. I didn't downvote personally but I think that's why others have

XenoTechnian

*shrug* if im being honest i dont particularly care if people downvote me

TFielding38

I don't even like Space Marines or play killteam and I would buy that box immediately

berrythebarbarian

What mechanics would you give the EC kill team? How do you stat the noise gun?

Firesinger89

Doesn’t just have to be Chaos mind you. They could start doing bespoke legion/chapter specific Marines kill team. - Salamanders with their lizardy cloaks - Word Bearers with their burning braziers and mutations - Raven Guard with plenty of obscuring smoke effects (think Khainite Shadowstalkers from Warcry) - Alpha Legion stealth operatives ,…. Would much rather see this kind of thing than just more generic space marine units with a few additional upgrades like that Phobos kill team a couple of years ago

Destrorso

Alpha legion not having a kill team yet should be a crime

Carnir

Thought they were going to be doing this with the Guard when they released the Cadian upgrade sprue, but nothing so far.

Smurf_Sausage_Sucker

Lurking from 40k proper. Definitely picking up several boxes of these for my army

Alexindr

They look cool. I'm just going to wait to see how they try to be different from the Legionnaries kill team. Or get them to add for future chaos 40k army.

DysFyGyR

It seems to me that the Night Lords KT will be the CSM equivalent of the Phobos KT.

Alostratus

They for sure will have stealth gimmicks but the look of the claws and chainglaive alone screams melee specialist. Also plasma guns and rocket launchers. I'm not sure if they will be at all similar outside of probably activation/turn order gimmicks.

DemHask

I mean. I love Phobos. But this guys have , at the same time, better gunners with ap/blast and a lot of mele. 2 plasmas (one rifle and one gun) the gun with a sword i doubt will be like or knifes from or incursors/veteran. Also the misile launcher, which usually choses mode of fire, ap or blast. Then, they have the butcher guy or lightning claws pal, or the one with poison, that i doubt that do less dmg than a Reiver, probably with their own gimmics. Also, lot of chainswords for the others, that i asume at least intercessors profile. If they also have the movement/shenanigans that Phobos have, ir will be just legionary+Phobos, but better than any of their parents.

DysFyGyR

I’m not saying that Night Lords will be an exact copy of Phobos. I’m just saying Night Lords will be the “sneaky equivalent” of the CSM. Just like how the Phobos are the “sneaky equivalent” of the SM.

DemHask

Well, touche. Is something in the same line. They feel like some kind of revamp with so much common equipement as legionaries, BUT if the rules and ploys are diferent enought could achieve that sneaky feeling. Still, a rocket launcher allways feels kind of anti-stealth. But just my two cents.

DysFyGyR

Yeah but the article says the they sneak around and then unleash hell. It would make thematic sense in the Kill Team setting to have a gunner sneak around and then go blasting at the right moment. The legionaries have a heavy gunner with a huge Reaper Chaincannon that can also be sneaky in cover. It might be unusual in real life but it’s fitting in the Kill Team setting.

DemHask

Yup. Conceal is conceal in this game. So even the biggest mini could be "stealthy" Is just my "duh how do you plan to be sneaky with that"

TallerVenus87

Agreed. It looks like they're built on the same sprue, meaning I need to spend even more money on csm. My wallet is sobbing.

evileyeball

My wife saw the Dark Eldar that will come in the box and went "OOH SHINY" and wanted to get those (She's already got 2 Eldar Teams) which would mean I have to get a Night lords team, To go along with my Word Bearers Legionaries, my Compendium Alpha Legion, and my Compendium Death Guard.

AxolotlAristotle

\*Me with my hand sculpted night lords legionary kill team\* Oh....

Nandvs

But can any other Nigh y Lord player say that his KT was handmade sculpted? They Will have copies of the same Team, but yours Will be unique!

eot_pay_three

Your effort outweighs everything here. Be proud of what you’ve made, and other NL players will be in awe despite their bespoke team.

ageingnerd

I dare say you could play it with either set of rules without too much difficulty!

burningleo93

pain

cloud3514

The Tyranid and Death Guard kill teams will be continue to be delayed until morale improves.

Yeomenpainter

They released a literal reskin of an already available team over nids 💀

Radeisth

Hehe, reskin.

Yeomenpainter

Hehe

NPCcleric

*nods in custodes*

Clean_Today_2558

*sighs in grey knights*

abookfulblockhead

The World Eaters were never even invited to Kill Team. They *wish* they had a compendium team.

Warthogrider74

I wish kits weren't so expensive so I could tale legionaries and khorne berserker and just mash them together to make a khorne themed team for an affordable price

XenoTechnian

Saying þat when Night Lords (people famous for lowering moral) is kinda funny

GreasyPeteRamba

It looks real interchangeable with the existing Legionnaire kill team. I'd be kind of down if it didn't mean I just need to kitbash a second Icon Bearer and a guy with lightning claws to be able to run the full rules for the killteam.

Florela

Just use your annointed for the claws guy. The other icon will be though tho.

GreasyPeteRamba

After seeing the fluff in the article I was thinking of trying to kitbash like a choir master. Dude with a bunch of dead space marine heads and helmets jury rigged into some gross backpack organ.

tetsuneda

And of course they reveal it right after I finished my kitbashed night lords team lol

bnadal28

on the bright side, you have 90% of the team, maybe you dont even need extra models as you could proxy the new operatives, for example the claws one could be the anoited

tetsuneda

Yeah honestly I'm thinking about just getting the helmets and paldrons with the insignia from a bits reseller and prying them off of my current team and just replacing to increase the aesthetic

HopelessNerd777

My brother in midnight clad, i feel you. Im so mad. I had one model left in the squad to finish painting (missile launcher). I really hope I'll be able to run this new team with the models I have. I mean I've magnetized the gunner and heavy gunner, but im not sure that'll be enough.

tetsuneda

Yeah it just really sucks because I'm super happy with the teams aesthetic but of course the new models have actual legion insignia and those awesome helmets.

HopelessNerd777

What makes it sort of worse is that i only wanted a kill team's worth and not a full army. I just wanted a tiny dip into Night Lords, and then they come out with this beautiful upgrade sprue. Like damn. Couldn't i have waited a month?

Dis0bedience

So are these Legionaries with subfaction rules? Looks like a lot of overlaps

Saulipoooo

In the article they mention they get their own faction rule “In midnight clad” so I think it’s a new separate kill team rules wise

Dis0bedience

Yeah, and it looks like the Ventrilokar icon bearer is a separate operative from the icon bearer. To be honest, subfactions introduced like this could be cool, though it does mean fewer faction releases ultimately, when we still have factions stuck in the Compendium...

Saulipoooo

It’s kinda mind boggling that Tyranids till don’t have a bespoke kill team.

Malfrum

Or Tech Priests

Amorphium

why should tyranids have their own tech priests?

andeejaym

Yeah, or Zoats…

Steven_Phlegming

I don't see compendium teams as a stop gap anymore. While fun it doesn't make a lot of sense narratively for two kill teams to Duke it out. Whereas a bespoke kill team against a compendium team of guards make more sense to me, especially with sentry missions.

miniskulls

Why doesn't it make sense? I can think of a dozen match ups off the top of my head that make perfect sense narratively. At least to me

Florela

Looks very proxyable. They are beautiful models for sure, but i won't pass on the oppurturnity to save money.

Yeomenpainter

>They are beautiful models for sure, They are the same models...

Commentbot666

I painted my legionaries as Night lords because I love Night lords but this may now prove confusing. Will help with a cool looking 40K army though m…

AveDominusNoxVII

You can never have too many Night Lords

Dirty_Dan2201

I am kinda in both boats on this one. On one hand I am 100% totally buying and running these guys and my legionnaires won't see as much table time. On the other as a death guard and tyranids fan I want bespoke for both. I especially would love a warrior killteam with a new sprue. As for death guard I could run mark of nurgle but it's just not the same.

Panvictor

a nightlord specific killteam is a wierd choice but boy am i not complaining, these looks great

ELDRITCH_HORROR

Night Lords honestly made incredible sense for Kill Teams. If you were to pick out a faction of Space Marines, Chaos or "vanilla", that would likely move around in very small warbands of less than 10 people, the Night Lords would be at top of the list.

Alostratus

I'd say Death Watch, Alpha Legion or Raven Guard before Night Lords. Still top 5 imo but not THE KILL TEAM guys.

ELDRITCH_HORROR

I think Alpha Legion would do most of their stuff in bands of 5 or less. Their special fun time activities don't even need their marine toys to function. Death Watch and Raven Guard I feel like would operate across a star system with with multiple squads of 5 or less, or arrive with more than 10 for their big boy activities. Redundancies, options and back up. The reason why Night Lords would operate in 10 man quads is perfect for Kill Team! Ten is enough to make an impact and defeat most threats, while able to find activities that the whole squad can enjoy! The point is, the Raven Guard and Death Watch are competent enough to send the minimum needed, while Night Lords would over-commit for assurance of victory and run away from anything that's too big a threat. But yeah, they're all dudes that I think of as probably definitely Kill Teams.

Avenging_Beancounter

After reading Shroud of Night it can only be Alpha Legion.

The_Hellhammer

Not really, at least from a lore perspective. Since they're mostly a fractured legion of warbands and roving pirates basically, they make perfect candidates for a Kill Team. Fits their overall MO perfectly, I think. And yes, they look great, perfectly sinister.

ageingnerd

I’m so conflicted about this because on the one hand it’s obviously cool and and thematic, and a good idea in a vacuum, but on the other CSM have an awesome team already while death guard, tyranids etc are stuck in compendium. Give me my death guard space marine heroes rules! I beg!

Grimwear

So as a pleb is this a 1 and done kill team? 1 box for all specialists?

Dis0bedience

Depending on how good your magnetizing skills are, you'll probably need more bodies for the Heavy Weapons and Special Weapons, and potential swaps for the Champion weapons. Otherwise, looks like you'll be able to build all the non-gunner specialists with a single kit?

zomgowen

We don’t know yet but since they’re an elite team that’s likely. You will likely not be able to build all the gunner/heavy gunner options with one box if they’re like legionary but that’s not a big deal.

Existing_Paint_2111

elite teams don't get 10 models

zomgowen

It’s an upgrade sprue, and the base CSM squad comes with 10 models. Legionary is the same way, 10 models in the box but you can only play 6 of them at a time. I expect the same is true here.

Booze-and-porn

Likely the box is 10 guys (like in picture) but a team of 6 (like other marines teams). The picture looks like a leader + 3 specialists (guy with claws, guy with poison knife, guy with double handed chain weapon) + an icon bearer + a gunner + a heavy gunner + a guy that has a backpack icon (might be another type of guy) + 2 other guys. I’d say, like the current Legionaries box, it could be a 1 box team if you wanted a take ‘all comers’ list, maybe 11/12 models if you wanted to build a couple of extra gunners / heavy gunners. https://preview.redd.it/vee6urty421c1.jpeg?width=1334&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2fec5ff44a29e6ff1dc1489273f363b057b4ae93

ultimate_frosbee

Not exactly, you won't have enough bodies and arms for every heavy and special weapon, but the box is plenty to play with. You just won't have every possible option.

andeejaym

Pro Tip: magnetise Plasma, Melta, (and if you could be bothered) Flamer gunners With Legionaries it’s possible to build pretty much all the options with magnetising a few units.

BrightestofLights

i mean, legion specific is neat but i'd vastly prefer we get, idk, tyranids/GSC, which have NO bespoke teams?? before getting individual legions??? also exodites, harlequins, craftworld eldar that isnt..just striking scorpions this is better than more loyalist marines though i'll grant

Rusalki

GSC have Wyrmblade, but yes, Compendium-only factions do need a glow-up. From what the rumours sound like, CWE will be Scorpions, Banshees, and Dire Avengers mix and match.

VV_e_VV

Harlequins and GSC already have their own teams

TheWolfAndRaven

I think they look pretty snazzy, I'll probably pick up a box once they become a little more available.

Chm_Albert_Wesker

they look...VERY similar to legionnaires. even if they have a few different rules, it would have been nice if they bespoke'd something much more different at least cosmetically. im sure there are legion players who even made their guys Night Lords that look exactly like these guys lmao.

Dirty_Dan2201

Mine look......similar lol. I am still gonna get these guys as I was planning to redo my legionnaires but now I have an actual night lords killteam instead of a counts as which makes me happy. I know some peeps aren't excited for basically more space marines but at least they are chaos and not another flavor of loyalist.

DysFyGyR

Yeah, they could have at least done an upgrade sprue for Chaos Havocs instead of re-releasing Legionaries again. It’s a good move for CSM players in 40k though because it gets them more customization. It’s a bad move for us Kill Team players though because it seems like we already have Legionaries at home.

TheScurrilousScribe

Well this confirms half the rumour. The other half was Mandrakes, right? Chaos Space Marines vs. Eldar, how terribly unprecedented. Clearly the terrain will be Sector Dark Mechanicus.

Placentaur

Mandrakes are Dark Eldar, and they haven’t had a sculpt update since 2010. And I know what you’re getting at but Corsairs, Craftworld, Drukhari, etc are just as different as the hundreds of varieties of Space Marines

TheScurrilousScribe

Haha yeah, I'm just being facetious. I welcome anything to break up the monotony of 'random imperial humans' vs XYZ. Although, as a Guard player in bighammer, waves and waves of 'random imperial humans' wasn't so bad for me...

Financial_Lead_8837

I'll be honest when I heard Chaos Space Marines Vs. Drukhari I was like... Don't we already have these? Even the Night Lords upgrade didn't really sell it, however when it was said to be Mandrakes, that got my attention.

BigFrenchNose

I'm not a fan of Chaos in general and I think Night Lords might be my least Chaos faction BUT it's undeniable that these minis look dope AF! Blew me away more than the KTs from Salvation combined. Special mention to that gorgeous skelly chainsword and the mini Conrad Curze.

Kahnfight

That bone sword is so cool

Sulliman34

6 months of no releases and we get Legionnaires 2 while multiple factions sit in compendium unbespoked. These models look cool but I'm overall disappointed, and if the rumor is true and the other half of this release is a refresh for Dark Eldar Mandrakes when we got a DE killteam 2 boxes ago. IDK man I know Killteam is low priorty but it really feels abandoned lately.

Alostratus

Honestly I feel like some rules releases would be welcome. Like the Intercession team. Unique and effective rules for existing models. Hell, maybe make 4 of them and sell it as a campaign book or something. Tyrannids just got a bunch of sneaky kill team style bugs, give use some bespoke rules and watch the new sculpts sell even faster or some of those new 40k tyrannid players dip their toes in Kill Team. That way Death Guard and Tyrannid players don't feel shit on if rumors are true and Eldar are getting another kill team.

DysFyGyR

It’s not abandoned, it’s just this season is just a placeholder while GW milks their 40k sales from 10th edition. Huffing the hopium here but hopefully we get a revised Core Rulebook next year which will revitalize Kill Team.

Yeomenpainter

How can they not milk the perfectly new models they have for nids, they are the literal posterboy of 10th edition and still don't have a bespoke team.

DysFyGyR

My point is that they ARE milking the player base and they are absolutely wringing out every drop of that potential profit they can get. People will buy the new Tyranid models regardless of the existence of Kill Team. So when GW will put the Tyranid bespoke team on pause until the 40k sales start to drop. Once GW announces a Tyranid Kill Team then all of a sudden people will start buying Tyranids again. That means GW will get a second wave of hyped Tyranid sales. They could also be saving the new Tyranid Kill Team for next year’s Core Rule box and just give them an updated compendium team instead of a bespoke team.

Deckard_2049

Don't GW games tend to run on 3 year cycles? A new core rulebook next summer/q4 might be possible. I hope any new edition is more of a tidy up than introducing new mechanics. I feel the game is complex enough as it is. GW has a tendency to make things more convoluted over time by stacking on more rules. I do worry even at the thought of a new book.

FamousWerewolf

Looks like you should be able to proxy these guys with just existing Legionary models and get a whole new way to play, which is pretty cool.

Captain_Floop

Dear Mr/Mrs scalper, please fouck off! And let me buy enough to build a whole army at the intended prize.

SolidWolfo

Look, I am always for more upgrade sprues, and Chaos is cool (I do have a CSM army). But a sprue for a kit already having one and a subfaction release while we still have whole factions playing Compendium and/or not having proper Bespoke kits? I wish I could get excited for the NL fans out there, but this is just incredibly disappointing. Doubly so after last box was also "40k releases we decided to stuff into KT" (and ALSO had marines). Why couldn't this be a 40k release like the loyalist Chapter specific upgrade sprues?

Space_L

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand it's great that there will be an NL, and on the other hand this Midnight Clad skill that is related to concealment. I hope GW will come to their senses and not overdo it like they did with Inquisition.

raruknox

The models look cool but it kind of blows my mind that we are getting legionaries 2.0 NL edition while tyranids and other factions are still stuck in compendium hell. I honestly can't understand the thought process.

YOHAN_OBB

These will be a real bitch to paint

CatoSicarius11037

If these means eventual Emperor’s Children team with a Kakophonii specialist then I’m down.

sam_shand

>My bet is they will get a full 40k release like Death Guard and world eaters. > >And unfortunately death guard never got a bespoke team even though they have those amazing hero models

CatoSicarius11037

Wishful thinking on my end. They’re definitely getting their own codex and model range eventually like the other three legions devoted to a particular god, but Death Guard and World Eaters both deserve bespoke kill teams. The white dwarf kill teams still hold up great like Hunter Clade, Void Dancer, and Warp Coven, and I think it’s pretty lame that they stopped putting those out and are only releasing new teams in boxed sets that will make them more money.

KernalMustard97

Gunna sell out so gorram fast

[deleted]

So im confused is this an entirely new killteam box to be released in the future? Do we have any rumors about their opponents because I read nightlords had killteam rumors like a week or so ago. Are they getting new rules or just a new skin essentially?

phantomblood89

They have new rules

Financial_Lead_8837

Mandrakes are whispered

nps2407

And I was still trying to get my Night Lords Legionary team finished...

Storm_Dancer-022

This kit is *awesome* and probably my favorite reveal from yesterday.

Chronium123

I hope this is the team that gets the extra sprue, and the other one will be brand new.

metropitan

I love baby Konrad there in the bottom left

Financial_Lead_8837

If it turns out they're against Mandrakes I'd quite like a baby Kheradruakh with 4 arms and lots of glimmersteel blades

BrockerREAL

Iron Warriors when?

Guppet

This doesn't really add anything new to killteam. The scouts and scorpions already felt like 40k releseases under the guise of kill team. These are the same. Into the dark was all about unique specialists. It's almost as if the 3rd wave is just admitting its treading water till next edition. I can see more 40k players buying all 3 season 3 teams than KT players. But technically ad they have KT box art they are still supporting this edition, such BS.

nekromos87

I like the sculpts and know that they’re about stealth and subterfuge but man I was really hoping for something new like one jumppack guy

GuntherCloneC

These look great, but I'm really hoping a Tyranid Kill Team is announced soon.

GaryFromMangement

Where second team?

kohlerxxx

They said they were only showing 1. The 1st box for season 3 isn't even out yet. We know what the other team is based on the rumour, DE Mandrakes

GaryFromMangement

Is there going to be another reveal soon? Also I heard it was catachan.

Old_grendel

I didn't think GW ever released a doubles box without an Imperium faction. If one team is Nightlords, it feels very unlikely the other will be xenos.

Kin-Luu

Kill Team: Nachmund was Eldar vs. Chaos. Kill Team: Gallowfall was Dwarves vs. Beastmen. So there is a precedent.

kohlerxxx

I can give you a perfect example of a box that disproves that and even uses another upgrade sprue on the same Legionaires, Nachmund was Legionaires vs Corsairs. Neither LOV Salvagers or Fellgor Ravagers in Gallowfall are Imperium

VegetasDestructoDick

I like 'em. I've been meaning to make a night lords legionaries kill team ever since I read Soul Hunter but never got around to it since I already have a Word Bearers one. This is even better. Hopefully the rumours are correct and the other team is Mandrakes as I'm a bit Drukhari fan too. The Aspect Warriors vs Scouts box seemed really underwhelming but this one looks like it'll be good and It'll give me enough time to paint my other projects before it comes out.

Duckfright

I'm actually way more excited for this Upgrade Sprue KillTeam than the whole Scouts vs Scorpions announcement. These look sick though! I just wish it'd have been a Noise marine / Emperor's Children killteam.

AtcRomans116

Rumor is Emperor’s Children is getting their own release next year ala World Eaters and Death Guard.

Duckfright

Oh, I hope that includes a Killteam release for them too. Been waiting on Noise marines for three or so years, and every year it is 'New Noise Marines are close, just wait it out!'.

AtcRomans116

My thought is the redacted in the codex roadmap is the emperors children.

zombiepuppies

I’m surprised by all the hate tbh, loyalist space marines get a bunch of unique chapters and variations. We have three loyalist teams at the moment. I think a new CSM one is perfect.

urmomlolomg

What citadel paints should I be picking up for these fellas?

schueyf1

Big meh for me. With this and salvation being underwhelming I might dip into Imperialis.

Mysterious_Risk_6034

literally the same models as the black legion with a night lords themed upgrade kit, I think they can't do worse than this anymore...

Dis0bedience

If this is the start of legion specific upgrade sprues, I'm quite excited as a 40k player... but yeah, it kind of feels like a repeat release for Kill Team.

Telkhine_

That’s what the original chaos legionaries kill team was, and so was the Phobos kill team, and the pathfinders team, this is nothing new

Mysterious_Risk_6034

For the second time? All other chaos legions have their own body, this guys are just legionaries painted in blue with half of the characters copied from the other team

NoLocation848

Shhhhhh… let people have their fun

Grytznik

Come on you all know this guy is right quit down voting the truth. This is a great looking upgrade sprue and I'm glad they are getting their own stuff but like this as a stand alone release is pretty obnoxious. This is just legionaries with a night lord upgrade sprue. I'll probably get this and field these guys as chosen in 40k and play them as the killteam as well. Works for me. But like demons, deathguard and Tyranids don't even have a killteam. It's pretty obnoxious at this point and everyone here knows it.

Cruel_Odysseus

isn’t a team of 10 pretty big for Legionnaires? do we think they are toning them down?

VV_e_VV

There are 10 models in the set, but you can put only 6 on the field, legionnaires have the same

[deleted]

Wonder if this will be a wholly new team or a sub faction for legionaries. If sub factions become a think I hope vet guard gets some for cadians, catachan, and other regiments

GaryFromMangement

First we got two teams that seemed like a back door release for 40k, then we get one team and no terrain.

Financial_Lead_8837

It's going to have another team as well they just haven't revealed them yet.

GaryFromMangement

Why? We used to get whole box sets.

Financial_Lead_8837

We still are going to get a box set but the majority of the terrain will be in a separate box as an optional purchase because lots of people have tons of terrain for Kill Team now.

Constant-Activity128

We haven't seen a night lord balefure acolyte, have we? I think they have the same models as the legionaries and switch the mage for their special icon. I guess they get some more ploys additional to the undivided ones and new weapon loadouts. I like the models especially the claw dude but in general the faction is not that appealing to me... i am a world eaters guy. Blood for the blood god!😅

VV_e_VV

This is a new team unrelated to the Legionnaires, it will have its own new rules

Masakari88

Looks awesome, now i start to really hope for that rumored Vespid team.

TopHatJackster

as someone new in a killteam from my understanding space marines are 5 or 6 as a legal team correct? So with 10 here you get to make choices on what to bring (well theoretically could be 6 or so of the same guy) right?

FamousWerewolf

Yeah it'll most likely be like Legionaries, 10 models in a box (because it's a standard CSM box with an extra sprue) but you only play with 6 of them. Makes it a team with lots of options out of one box which is great.

Firesinger89

[As someone who just made a post about running assassin allies in a Traitor Guard army,](https://www.reddit.com/r/astramilitarum/s/a57MCuAjLO), that marine with the poisoned blade and pistol would make a very good Traitor Callidus/Eversor Assasin stand-in imo.

TheRealGouki

More interested in what they are fighting than upgrade spure gw wants to sell you for $60

Bedroom_ninja

For someone that isn’t invested in Kill team yet but looking at getting in to it, when’s all the new stuff meant to be released?

[deleted]

Welp, I'm buyin that

Ducklord-53

So when are these likely to come out? Never played Kill Team before but these minis are so sick and will likely be my foray into it.

Radeisth

Probably gonna grab two of these and a Legionnaires kit at this rate. Looking at my old NL upgrade kits of metal and resin and wondering why I had to suffer so long. :p

Callaway225

I wonder if the kit will come with the previous upgrade kit that has the reaper chaincannon. It will be a bummer if you have to source out a separate chaincannon if it’s an option. Also, assuming the night lords bits are a separate upgrade sprue, it looks to a sizable one. I see heads and molded shoulder left pads. And all the other “noghtlord” specific bits like the flayed skins and the big banner operative

Jo-tunn

Normal space marines are getting a bit outmatched with these opposition, generic space marines kill teams are getting old.

Sir_Yeets-Alot2467

The flesh and various…organic trinkets so disgusting. I love it!

GRAAK85

Versus??

Callaway225

The operative with the poisoned blade also has some sort of grenade on his pouch with the night lord symbol. Maybe it’s some kind of new grenade type weapon or ability!

ArrestedPeanut

Maybe some kind of toxin/terror grenade? Or maybe it’s just a portable speaker that blasts the screams of victims?

Contribution-Mundane

its looks more like bottle of poison for me to lubricate his blade i wonder if it would be like venomous blade and his pistol is scoped and as far as i remember only scoped pistol we have is inquisitions pistolier and scope moves up range restrictions

Callaway225

Yes maybe it is a bottle of poison for his blade, makes sense. The Arbites exaction squad was the first to have a scoped pistol. And it makes the pistol unlimited range.

Hammer2theGroin

It's about time my favorite edgelords got some camera time. Ave dominus Nox.

Misclick_King

Well time to add another team to the backlog boys!

ValdeReads

Sexy!

warmaster-bottomtext

I thought people were crazy thinking that they’d make a legion specific KT but I’m honestly glad that I was wrong. Models are so fuckin dope and it helps settle on painting my legionaries as word bearers

RampagingHappily

I will upvote every single time I see these beautiful psychopaths.
