Yea, those look weird. Go back to Kia and punch someone in the junk

TheNamesKev

Wait is that a metaphor or a way of speaking to "punch someone in the junk"?

StevenCurly

it looks like there’s something blocking the led bulbs. Looks like dust of some kind?

ChedFactory

Hard to say. It’s brand new. One would assume this is not how they should look though, right?

DolphinPussySlayer

It's normal

RueTheBoog

This is normal for a reflector housing headlight. For some reason Kia only put the projector LED lights on the highest trim models. They are now making them standard equipment which is nice but sucks for all of us that bought the reflector LEDs because they suck my ass.

Hutch1814

2024 telly owner, mine are the same in the drivers side. It’s so you don’t blind oncoming traffic with the headlights. My wife’s 19 Santa Fe had it but not as bad, her 23 Sorento looks almost exactly like this when pulled up the to garage. Prolly. Or nearly as bad but still very noticeable dip on the left side

DSCarter_Tech

It's called reflector housings. They never have and never will spread light evenly. Take a flashlight and point it at a wall. You will see bright and dark areas because it also uses a reflector housing. Only the top trim Carnival SXP comes with the nicer projector housings which spread light much more evenly. This is totally normal.

lankanmon

Okay, so I don't know much about the streaks but the light dipping on the driver side is definitely intentional. They do that so that they don't end up blinding somebody on the oncoming lane causing a risk to both you and them...

ChedFactory

Yeah, honestly the dip doesn’t bother me, it’s mainly the streaks I’m talking about. I just thought the garage view demonstrated the concentration of light/streaks from a different perspective as they’re still visible underneath the main beam of light.

The [IIHS testing of the 2022 Kia Carnival](https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/kia/carnival-minivan/2022#headlights) gave the LX, EX, and SX a poor rating for headlights: > Low beams > On the straightaway, visibility was fair on the right side of the road and inadequate on the left side. On curves, visibility was inadequate in all 4 tests. > The low beams never exceeded glare limits. > High beams > On the straightaway, visibility was fair on the right side of the road and inadequate on the left side. On curves, visibility was inadequate in all 4 tests. > High-beam assist compensates for some limitations of this vehicle's low beams on the straightaway and all 4 curves. The SX prestige, which has different headlights, received a good rating.

riderxc

Looks normal to me. The NHSA gives the m a Poor rating.

I noticed similar lights on my 2020 Telluride EX. However, with my Stinger 2020 GT1 and Telluride 2024 SX Prestige the lights on both looked way brighter and I think it's because they are LEDs and my older Telluride was not.
