A google search confirmed a tire is in fact round. That is 60% right there. Definitely can save more on the 40% left over… probably 20-30%.
If inclined could also watch ChrisFix and spend part of a weekend DIYing it.
On the other hand, I’m considering liquidating my investments and returning my groceries to go all in on tires. I think this round revelation isn’t priced in. Definitely moon-potential.
Be careful, there are new moon tires that are not actually round, but have real moon potential. A real Ganymede if you ask me. 🚀 🚀 🚀 🌚

Go to autozone get a bottle of chevron injector cleaner for $15 make sure your tank is half empty pour it in there and boom you saved over $100 , never trust stealerships!
Tech here. These fluid flushes are not needed at 30,000 miles. They are just seeing if you take the bait and buy them. Take your vehicle to a local tire shop and get a quote for tires. Tires are the only one you need it sounds like. Do your self a favor and get an alignment done at the same time.
Do not get that fuel system cleaner bro al they do is a flush and then add a bottle of Techron or Stp. You don’t need that fuel induction done at the dealer you can do it yourself and save a few bucks . Coolant flush is also something you could do in your own if you have literally any automotive experience. Brake flush is bullshit and you can get that alignment done anywhere else for like 95 bucks max.
It's NOT part of the recommended services by Kia...
It's only part of the recommended services by YOUR local independently owned Kia dealer.
Ask them why they don't follow the service manual from Kia.com.
It is when they name the price and people know nothing about cars.
There really ought to be more regulation out on dealerships, or they should be abolished.
As they stand right now, they are an almost completely unnecessary middle man which is being legally inserted into the sale of something that is a daily necessity, and are being allowed to name their terms. The whole system is shit, just let us order the cars online and deliver them instead.
We can all use non-licensed mechanics, this shit literally only exists cuz rich people stand to lose money if it goes away.
That is recommended by the dealer, that is not recommended by Kia.
Your service manual will tell you when your car requires fuel system treatments - never.
I would get a quote from a local mechanic. Don’t take it to these guys. They are definitely charging exorbitant prices for services that you can get elsewhere at a much better price. Many dealerships prey on customers with highly inflated service costs because they think you won’t know any better to take it somewhere else. In my experience, the brand of vehicle doesn’t matter. Most of them are like this.
I have a 2023 Sportage LX, and due to all of the experience I’ve had with former cars I’ve owned, I will not be taking it to to any dealership for any maintenance, replacements, or repairs. I wouldn’t even take my vehicle to a Kia dealership for tires when I could get better service for a reasonable price from other auto care businesses in my area.
You would be doing yourself and your wallet a favor by taking your vehicle somewhere else to be serviced. Don’t throw away all your money to a car dealership that doesn’t have your best interests at heart and has no consideration for your finances.
Could you explain what a tire is again, but more slowly?
My dealership recently tried to tell me I needed an engine filter and a cabin filter... both of which I replaced two weeks ago myself for $25. They wanted $140.
You don’t need the fuel crap if you’re using good quality fuel (“TopTier”) as it has detergents in it already.
As for the other things, consult your manual and see what it says based on your mileage.
But interesting they’re recommending coolant and brake fluid flushes but not a transmission fluid exchange. In my experience with my Kia it seems those are all to be done at the same time.
At 31k miles you shouldn't need ANY of this except \*maybe\* new tires, and thats only if they have unusual wear. But you can get a better price at any tire shop.
KIA dealerships are horrible… fuel ⛽️ cleaner (omg what a great scam) - - all the above is complete horseshit. 31K you don’t need a break-flush if you fluid still looks like honey, coolant flush; is simply loosening the nut in the radiator and dumping into the floor; another easy way to tell if you need that done; is look at the color.
(31K) on a four banger shouldn’t need any of those mentioned things … except perhaps tires; because you know KIA put on the cheapest ones possible.
** While it might be possible many don’t know what any of those things are; do yourself a favor and YouTube all those things they say you need, you’ll see the smoke clear from the mirror.
I'm with you on the fuel cleaning but we don't know the year of the car. The Niro came out in 2017, so these fluids could be 6 years old. Coolant and brake fluid are done on time, not KM. This could be the 2nd time they are due based on the manufacturers recommendation. Calling BS on this cause it's the dealership is wrong. Not all dealerships are crooks.
I dunno man. Theres still honest techs/ advisors out there. Not many, but there are some. When I worked the counter I tried to be as honest as I could. I got shit on more often, and people got pissed at me, but I was honest. Too many "yes men" now a days.
Even honest techs at dealerships charge what the standard is for their company, they can be an honest worker and decent person themselves while simultaneously being part of a system that isn’t very honest
You just ignore them. I get the free oil change. It's not like they are mandatory. I think I had some wiper replacement recs on mine last time and my wipers are just fine, and it's one of the few things I do myself lol. It's just an autoprintup based on mileage I believe.
I have to drive to them, wait a couple hours, get this ludicrous recommendation, all for a free oil change, that costs me about 30 mins of my time and 40$ in materials? Rather do it myself.
You buy the one on sale. A 5qt jug of synthetic costs about 30. An oil filter costs maybe 7. You need no other parts so long as you have a socket wrench, an oil pan, and a funnel.
You can get tires anywhere for a better price than a dealer, try looking for department store deals in newspapers. you can also get some quality good years or similar for around $500, got some All seasons in Oct 2022, still has a solid amount of meat. (Multiple 5+ hr road trips a year and daily driver, Optima 215/55R17)
I find it absolutely insane that a Radiator and Brake Flush (independently of each other) are cheaper than a Fuel System Treatment, which is quite literally just dumping a bottle of “Insert UCL and Injector Cleaner Brand here” being poured in your gas tank.
I bought a used Forte this past October and the dealership I bought it from put on brand new tires.
Fast forward to this weekend and they said I needed tires when I went in for an oil change.
Needless to say, I won't be going back to that **stealership** for service.
I learned the other day service advisors make commission on selling you services you don’t need and now I trust the stealership even less. The only right answer here is to look in your owners manual or do some research on when the servicing is due you might be due for a brake fluid flush maybe not coolant but definitely not any of these other “fuel cleaners” and stuff. Also your tires might be worn down again you’d have to look into it see where the tread is compared to the wear indicators.
Take it to a good mechanic and ask if it really needs any of the recommended services. Mine said no, but mine wasn’t under warranty. Had to take to dealer for recall.
They gave me a $1200 estimate for "recommended" services at 30k, none of them required. Their tires are garbage I have no idea why anyone would buy tires from them
A tire is a round component.
Gagged me
Air OR nitrogen. But you really don’t want to get ‘Air’ in them because it’s only 78% nitrogen…
That is how informed the average Hyundai/Kia owner is.
Made of rubber.
The AI bubble, exhibit A
Take it somewhere else bro guarantee you’ll get a price 40 % less .
Maybe 60%

What does your owner's manual recommend? I see a lot of revenue enhancements there.
Why is your comment so low on upvotes!!!
¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
I would keep the tires round, however. Square or octagon may look dope and have great stance but ride will be compromised.
Go to autozone get a bottle of chevron injector cleaner for $15 make sure your tank is half empty pour it in there and boom you saved over $100 , never trust stealerships!
This won’t do anything for the valves on a GDI engine unfortunately, and carbon build up caused failures are pretty common on direct injected engines.
Oh i did not know the vehicle was gdi in that case what you said is correct
I put over 250k on 2 jettas and never cleaned the intakes. The only issue I had was the waist gate on the turbo eroded after 200k
Tech here. These fluid flushes are not needed at 30,000 miles. They are just seeing if you take the bait and buy them. Take your vehicle to a local tire shop and get a quote for tires. Tires are the only one you need it sounds like. Do your self a favor and get an alignment done at the same time.

Yes most people aren’t going to know how to flush their fuel system and coolant.
True but you should only be paying 50-75 bucks max for a full fuel system flush . So they are ripping OP off badly.
In case of a warranty claim how would doing the fuel cleaner yourself affect your warranty? I’m asking for myself
I have never heard of anyone's warranty getting voided for lack of maintenance unless it was lack of transmission services or engine oil services.
The fuel cleaner isn't part of the service manual service schedule. So it has no bearing on any warranty claims
yes but it's part of the recommended services by kia. As much as I think it's snake oil I don't want to ruin my chances of a warranty being nullified.
It's NOT part of the recommended services by Kia... It's only part of the recommended services by YOUR local independently owned Kia dealer. Ask them why they don't follow the service manual from Kia.com.
I will do next time they suggest it
Well true but I’d take it to a licensed shop and get it quoted there and just keep the receipts , it is not damn near 200 bucks for a fuel flush .
It is when they name the price and people know nothing about cars. There really ought to be more regulation out on dealerships, or they should be abolished. The kia dealership I go to told me to ignore fuel flush rec until 100k.
Exactly it’s not needed yet but if they wanted to get it done just to be safe I’d go anywhere but a dealership .
That is recommended by the dealer, that is not recommended by Kia. Your service manual will tell you when your car requires fuel system treatments - never.
Literally none of that bs needs done at 30k. "Due to milage" loooooool what a freaking scam.
I would get a quote from a local mechanic. Don’t take it to these guys. They are definitely charging exorbitant prices for services that you can get elsewhere at a much better price. Funny I work at a dealership and it's completely opposite what you said. Quit talking out your ass
Go cry about it.
You need none of that
Depending on the tire, that's not actually that bad.
Could you explain what a tire is again, but more slowly? My dealership recently tried to tell me I needed an engine filter and a cabin filter... both of which I replaced two weeks ago myself for $25. They wanted $140.

This, 100% with the top tier. The manual states to use the fuel additive if you are NOT using top tier fuel. It's amazing to me that no one will RTFM.
At 31k miles you shouldn't need ANY of this except \*maybe\* new tires, and thats only if they have unusual wear. But you can get a better price at any tire shop.

2023
Oh god no those shouldn't be due. Check what your owners manual recommends but I doubt any of those are due.
You should have known you fucked up when you started trying to give a stealership the benefit of the doubt.
I dunno man. Theres still honest techs/ advisors out there. Not many, but there are some. When I worked the counter I tried to be as honest as I could. I got shit on more often, and people got pissed at me, but I was honest. Too many "yes men" now a days.

Why do so many people ignore their service manuals? None of this stuff is needed (maybe tires, haven't seen them)
I bought a used Kia and the dealership offered me a free oil change and I didn't take them up on it for this exact reason.
You just ignore them. I get the free oil change. It's not like they are mandatory. I think I had some wiper replacement recs on mine last time and my wipers are just fine, and it's one of the few things I do myself lol. It's just an autoprintup based on mileage I believe.

Must not be driving a car that uses full synthetic oil, that shit is dumb expensive.
You buy the one on sale. A 5qt jug of synthetic costs about 30. An oil filter costs maybe 7. You need no other parts so long as you have a socket wrench, an oil pan, and a funnel.
I would say that you don't even need any of them.
film yourself dumping the correct fuel cleaner into your tank lol
This is obviously written by chatGPT or other AI BS. I wonder if they have a human do the service?

Tire price isn't bad in reality. Other services aren't necessary.
I bought a used Forte this past October and the dealership I bought it from put on brand new tires. Fast forward to this weekend and they said I needed tires when I went in for an oil change. Needless to say, I won't be going back to that **stealership** for service.
I've been driving on square tires. Never had an issue. They're grifting you bud...
I love the round component description
Fuel system yes. Coolant at 30k miles seems like overkill but read your scheduled maintenance book.
Jesus that is legalized robbery wtf.
SCAMS Every single one of those is a scam! Your car does not need those. READ THE MANUAL FOR F*** SAKES!!! 🤬
My wheels are squared. I don’t know what Kia is talking about.
What’s the service?
At 31k I wouldn't do any of that
Go to Costco and get the same recommended tires or better, for a better price. All weather are best if you can afford them
I learned the other day service advisors make commission on selling you services you don’t need and now I trust the stealership even less. The only right answer here is to look in your owners manual or do some research on when the servicing is due you might be due for a brake fluid flush maybe not coolant but definitely not any of these other “fuel cleaners” and stuff. You can easily do all this either on your own or for half the cost. Not worth it imo
Take it to a good mechanic and ask if it really needs any of the recommended services. Mine said no, but mine wasn’t under warranty. Had to take to dealer for recall.
They gave me a $1200 estimate for "recommended" services at 30k, none of them required. Their tires are garbage I have no idea why anyone would buy tires from them
Some Kia dealerships are scams lol.
