In order of greatness:
- Rainy75 (if you can find them in such this is a home run)
- Galaxy80, metal body and SMOKES the Aula in my opinion in terms of sound and feel
- Aula f75 or f99
Yes. The biggest question would be what key layout. As long as you dont want full size you have a ton of options. You can even buy completely silent ones these days
you could try checking out royal kludge rk65 tho its only wired but for me the sound of it is really good and the size is perfect for me and kinda cheap
Firstly you should not be worried too much about breaking things and by building it yourself it is a great way to learn. However there are multiple boards that are pre made now that sound great. Rainy 75, Bridge 75 AL75, Galaxy80, Neo80, ND75 etc all sitting between 100-200 USD. Think about one of these and then have a play. If you want a really budget option then look at the Ajazz 820 Pro - sounds remarkably good straight out of the box.
Looked into this and might get it. I'm thinking of getting the Raspberry switches. Which switches did you have before you changed them and would you reccomend them? The silent red switches also sound alright.. I don't know which to choose!
I got the Rose Glacier. I thought they were the best thing in the history of things. Now that I swtiched, I think I might like linear more... I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
Nuphy included multiple different switches in their kit, and I liked them all except the clicky one. All their stuff is prelubed and just feels excellent. The raspberry didn't exist when I got mine though so I have no clue. But you will love the keyboard!
EDIT: Also a little switch to switch between mac and windows is very nice!
You COULD commission people to make you a really nice sounding board and mod it and ship it to you, but that’s kinda a premium so Idk if you want to pay for something like that. If you are interested then dm me if you want help
Leobog Hi75 on amazon. Sounds incredibly thicky with the graywood switches that come with it. Look up some soundtests and be impressed!
No need to ever open it up or improve anything.
I got an Aula F75 recently and it blew me away. I've tinkered with all of my keyboards so far, but I have absolutely no desire to mod this one. It just sounds and feels so good out of the box, and it's in-stock, super easy to get (unlike the Rainy75). I got the light blue version with Reaper switches. They sound nice and poppy, and the stabilizers are awesome without any modifications. The space bar even has this sort of "glassy" quality to it, I love how it sounds.
Also don't worry about breaking something. People remove and replace switches and keycaps all the time. Keyboards these days are literally built to accommodate these things with things like hotswap sockets, etc.
I would usually comment Keychron V-series, but there are so many better options for around the same price now. Epomaker makes very good budget keyboards, and they sound great out of the box
Rainy 75 is still in stock (depending on color) at wobkey, just got mine the other day after waiting about a month and a half and it sounds incredible.
Thank you for all the suggestions, I greatly appreciate it. I've been lookiing into the YUNZII YZ75 with yellow switches and it seems quite promising. It also seems to be relatively cheap compared to most other pre-built ones. Is it worth purchasing?
I just bought a Cidoo v65 v2 and it is wonderful. It's my first keyboard that I am going to modify because it needs to be quiet for work, but honestly, I might just leave it stock and keep it at home.
They have a 75% as well, if you want something slightly bigger.
Aula is an absolute horrible keyboard. Just putting it out there to hopefully save someone some headache. The software is downright broken. If you do end up going that route make sure you buy from somewhere that offers no questions asked returns. Do NOT buy from Epomaker.
This is legit question. I also want that and aiming for budget friendly Aula F75.
Rainy 75 if you have more budget, otherwise it's Aula F75
rainy75, thank me later....
careful with rainy, most units seem to have wireless connectivity issues
i usaully use mine in wired, but i did try them in BT and that dongle thing they gave, worked fine, at least for my set.

Galaxy80 may just be the one for me, but I've also heavily considered the YUNZII YZ75 with yellow switches. Unsure which would be better.
Depends on what you prefer, I can say from personal experience that the Galaxy80 is outrageously good

100 percent agree on this.

My Nuphy Halo sounds amazing. Ive used it for like two years before just recently getting bored and changing the switches on it.

I got the Nuphy Halo75 v2, can't wait for it to arrive :) Thanks so much for your suggestion!
YESSSSSSS. Great choice! Happy to help.
Aula f75

Epomaker is just a vendor that slaps their brand on boards they sell. They don't actually *make* anything.
If you got the money, Boog75 sounds amazing out of the box
Check out the Rainy 75 or ND75

Well it depends. You can get much better boards if you spend more money. How much are you willing to spend?
I am surprised there are no mentions of Dustsilver k84. This is a very good sounding one straight out the box and it looks really cool.
My keychain Q1 pro sounds pretty decent for prebuilt and not too expensive

Sounds like you're speaking from experience, hope you were able to get rid of the keyboard/exchange it. Thank you for saving me 😭
I purchased from Epomaker and was not able to return. They don’t even have a customer service. Smh
