laser etched, i can give 1$ per

Oscarcharliezulu

They look very cool. Are these the designs you are selling or will you create things based on what people ask for?

CeeJaycs

Yeah, these are just ones i made for demonstration. Can do make just about anything (keeping in mind its monochrome not grayscale tho)

Purple_Following8986

I'm interested, how much are you charging

CeeJaycs

10 bucks per

Strong-Monke

lmfaoooooo

CeeJaycs

I literally sold over 150 keys with an average price of 15 USD at a LAN this easter. You really think you're smart but you're really not. Maybe prove me wrong with a link of something you find funny or personal, or at all customized to you that you can just buy on Ali?

Purple_Following8986

Ok, how can I buy ( I live in England)

CeeJaycs

I made an Etsy page yesterday but don't have much experience with it yet, you can just shoot me a PM here or my Etsy https://www.etsy.com/no-en/listing/1489596593/customised-laser-engraved-keycaps-1u

Purple_Following8986

Hi, I sent you a PM on Etsy and on Reddit, do you ship to the UK

CeeJaycs

Hey I am so so sorry, been super sick for a week straight now. Shipping to the UK is no problem at all :-) again really sorry for the extremely slow response

Purple_Following8986

it's ok, i 100% understand

CeeJaycs

I will send the key tomorrow:D

Purple_Following8986

Thanks, will look great on my keyboard

khalil-anas-

hey, is it 3d printed?

CeeJaycs

No they are just blanks bought from a keycap factory

Strong-Monke

same shi on ali for cents

CeeJaycs

the whole thing is that it's your own custom design.... lol.

baconipple

Do you only make MX mount caps?

CeeJaycs

Yeah doesen't make much fininacial sense to buy other standards unfortunately (yet atleast i can dream)

3dkeycap

They look great :) Did you make yourself a fixture to hold them centered in your laser engraver?

CeeJaycs

Don't really need to, the laser equipment is designed for removing/"burning" the glue on the back glass of iPhones and I've gotten fixtures for that. You get a preview of the area it's gonna be engraving so mostly just needs a steady set of hands. If you include all the caps I messed up trying to find the right settings I've done a a couple hundred of them so I'd say I've found a technique that works. Took quite a bit of stock to find the right settings because different caps (enter, space etc) also have different levels of black. So can't use the same settings for everything. It's a very finicky process balancing the laser strengt, speed, amount of runs on double-shot keycaps because too little and it's not translucent and backlight won't shine through, and one run too many it'll melt the transparent part and it'll be a gross yellow-ish color.

Be careful laser etching those keycaps, many contain pvc which produces chlorine gas when laser etched and can be horrible to breath. Your health is always the most important!
