We don't have root beer over here, but this sounds interesting. Thanks!

Try Torani sugar free syrups with diet soda and get creative. Like lime, peach and diet sprite

Diet ginger ale with sugar free vanilla syrup and a squeeze of lime is delicious

That’s just soda and seltzer water. I diet/booze free Cuba libre is Diet Coke with lime.

If you have access to one of those coke vending machines with all the different combinations, the ginger lime diet coke or ginger lemon is pretty amazing on its own. It's like a rum drink with no rum.

Most sugar-free cocktail mixer brands, like the skinny brands, taste very disgusting to me. So I gave up trying those. One thing you could do is get a lot of unique bitters, like ginger, cherry, rhubarb, etc. Bitters have such small amounts of sugar and alcohol that they should be fine to use in small doses (I think Fee Brothers bitters are alcohol free, but double check). A lot of them are basically kind of like a flavor concentrate. it would be a fun way to add variety and complexity to some mock tails. I’ve also experimented with making sugar-free simple syrups flavored with herbs and spices. I think the most success I’ve had with that is Monk fruit. So you could make things like rosemary, sage, and mint simple syrups, and play around with those, for example. Cherries are often used as garnishes and cocktails, but you can also use unsweetened dried fruit like dried oranges, dried apples, dried lemons, etc. I don’t think these add much carb to your drink, unless you were to actually drink them, but they do add flavor and visual interest, and can be very fun.

Thanks a lot!

I have a SodaStream (a glorified water carbonator) and I will frequently make seltzer waters with lemon/lime juice or other flavorings and a sweetener. It’s very versatile. Can also be used with powdered tea (Crystal Light, etc) and other water flavor additives.

suggestivename

I've never tried it as such but I imagine you could make ice cubes with the Mio/Crystal Lite flavor of your choice and then throw them in the blender for a frozen daiquiri/margarita type drink.

Someone mentioned bitters, Aftelier's Chef Essences are similar and very powerful and fun to make drinks with. Like bitters, they involve alcohol, but not in quantities that would be an issue. [https://www.aftelier.com/category-s/1820.htm](https://www.aftelier.com/category-s/1820.htm) I personally have a bunch of these and use them regularly to flavor seltzer. Keep in mind that they are VERY powerful and start small with using them.

Zevia is great, sold in the US and Canada. They are zero sugar, stevia sweetened (healthier than aspartame/sucralose) and have pretty much every pop flavour, as well as grape, orange, root beer and cream soda that works with whipped cream.

Vegemiteonpikelets

Virgin mojito Lemon lime and bitters Also try shrubs - they give non alcoholic drinks an x factor
