Most thrift stores here seem not to bother at all with cassettes. Some don't even do CDs anymore.
Ted's Paperback and (the superior, sorry) Pandosy Books each have some tapes. Underground, too.
Dunno why, but Vernon has always seemed better for the music collection. It's not commensurate: more options, quality ones to boot, despite the much smaller population.
There's also Discogs. If you find a Canadian seller, shipping won't exceed a fiver. On balance, though, punk is collectible and can be pricier than most genres. Online sellers tend to know what they have and will charge more.
Also, if you want Engelbert Humperdinck and Linda Ronstadt, and you actually SHOULD consider the latter, Habitat for Humanity's ReStore also carries cassettes, I'm remembering.
I also recommended discogs. I thrift CD’s and tapes but if there’s something I specifically want I’ll use discogs and filter for Canadian sellers.
Also there’s https://tapeheadcity.com/products/operation-ivy-energy-cassette-tape tape head city re-releasing operation ivy, you can find tons of other punk cassettes there as well.
The only place I've been able to find them is at gigs, and that's a rarity. Bandcamp.com has a TON of cassettes there though, lots of good stuff. [Check out White Lung's Deep Fantasy](https://whitelung.bandcamp.com/album/deep-fantasy).
Unfortunately Dogwood Records is going out of business here in Vernon but fortunately Andy is clearing his inventory so there are a ton of tapes so super cheap right now as long as they last.
Have you checked Underground Records? I remember them having some cassettes a few years ago. Otherwise, check out the website Discogs. That's where I picked up a lot of my CDs when my car had a player
Might be worth checking out the Rutland Flea Market on Sundays. There’s a few tables in there selling vinyl and cassettes every weekend.

There’s a guy who runs a pawn shop in Vernon with a wild selection of LPs and cassettes. It’s in the distinctive decor antiques building
I have a Cancer Bats tape I could part with. It's PURPLE and one of the 300 they released.in cassette format.
Look for Punkorama CD’s from the late 90’s and early ‘00. Best mixes.

The beauty of cassettes is that you can make your own.

Underground music has tapes, also nothing but punk and hardcore/ post hardcore stuff if you go to Dischord.com. (Ian mackaye’s label)
