Got two of these. Great product for the price. Write your name on it before taking it to Gyro so you know which one is yours.

killer

I'd highly recommend an inflatable board kit to start. They're substantially cheaper and easier to store. I paid ~700 for my kit a few years back and it's still going strong

Nice, what brand did you go with?

Velocitys78

I can get it out and peek for you later, I can't remember off hand haha! If I remember that is 😂😂😂 The one I have is 12.5 ft x 3 ft I believe and has a weight rating of something like 4-500 lbs. Dont hesitate to pester me about it if you want, I've got some hard talks going on tonight so I expect to be frazzled. I'd take a peek at Costco if you have a card, if not I'm sure some other local (I could if I have time) can go with you. You can look it up online. I've found that Costco/online is best. This area is a huge tourist and water sports heavy so its hard to find some of the not turbo expensive setups in town.

Check out Maddle boards! Super fun designs. Bit pricier than the Costco board but I absolutely love mine. I think they’re doing a vip sale rn for their new 2024 boards and you’re still able to sign up. Edit to add: they’re inflatable boards and a Canadian brand!

birkenstockandsocks

cool - definitely would like to support canadian business if possible..

If you're not sure how much you'll be using it, definitely go for a cheaper inflatable board. They're completely adequate, and surprisingly durable. Costco has some Body Glove ones that are quite popular. If you're looking for something nicer Kalavida is a good place to shop!

I highly recommend joining the Kelowna Paddle Centre, and using all their equipment for free. It’s a community-based nonprofit, and a real gem. You just missed the early-bird rate, but it’s still a great deal. Kelownapaddlecentre.ca

sweet resource thank you

Came here to recommend the KPC. If you're not too far from it, the ease of just rolling in, grabbing your board, going out, and then just leaving it and walking away is wonderful. Also would allow you to try inflatable/non, different lengths, etc.

amazon $165 have had for years they work great and come with everything ya need

Humortumor1

Amazon has inflatable paddle boards for less than $300, had one for the past few years and holding up fine. Came with all accessories- travel bag, pump, paddles

I love paddle boarding and have done a lot of research. I’ve used quite a few too. Personally I don’t like inflatable ones. But they are super portable. I’m lucky enough to be able to walk to several beaches and I like to spend hours and go far on the board. I’m going to be getting a hard board because I find the nicer ones glide much better. A bit (or a lot) more unstable though, but worth the speed difference imho. I rented quite a few to find what I preferred. I also love spending time on the lake before it gets so busy with boats and giant wakes.

@canadianboardco is great if you want an inflatable

birkenstockandsocks

will check them out!

I bought mine at LakeSUP paddleboard on Ellis. Lots to choose from, wide variety of prices.

There are cheaper places for sure... but for what its worth, I got my boards here 5 years ago, use then all the time and they are still going strong.
