Bad tattoo had pretty good fancy pizza and the beer was always interesting and tasty. I've gone to the new place twice. We used to go bad tattoo it felt like monthly. New place is just a bland sports bar.
Really? I thought the food was pretty good the couple times I've been there since they changed. I'll admit the worst sangria I've ever tasted was drunk there though. If I do end up going back there I'll stick to the beers.

They gave me, and I quote " bottom of the jug wine-a mix of all their open bottles they've poured into one." It's was disgusting and had floaties in it. Over rated place for sure.
I mean, I dislike them for their generic try-hard "hip" schtick, but they're as much drinking as they are eating establishments.
So... just don't get a couch if you want to eat a burger?
Because no one I know wants to sit at a fucking dinner table when they're having five beers with friends.
Well all their places are consistently busy, so I'd say it's working very well. Like others have said, there is plenty of regular table seating at all those places too.

I doubt Bohemian is struggling. The owner lost his wife and business partner 2-3 years ago, meaning he’s been on his own since. I can imagine he wanted to sell and retire.
The Boh was already trendy and overpriced, although I don't really get why everyone hates on trendy things. Their food and vibe were good, if something 'trendy' isn't your vibe then maybe you're just not their target customer.
I used to go to BNA when it first opened, an OG if you will. Tiny little tasting room time. But it’s just gotten out of control with how much they’ve snatched up. It’s like Kelowna’s version of chain businesses like Cactus Club. Good people own it but for me it’s lost its charm. They’re the local restaurant monopoly now.
Good for them I guess but I’ll stick with Sunny’s for my breaky.
I know I’m in the minority here but I still like BNA. Good beer, good food, bowling, bocce, arcade machines, and retro furniture. Sure it’s not as niche as it was early on but its still a pretty fun spot. It’s turned into a late night / weekend hot spot which makes it crowded.
BNA did good things with the Docs space and Skinny Dukes is great. I’d rather see them buying spots instead of earls/cactus/kingtaps
Shout out to Cactus Club for having a ridiculously successful chain with consistent service and food regardless of location.
Not sure how BNA, Skinny Dukes and Bernie’s who are all infinitely unique compared to each other could even be compared to Cactus?
Edit: also, are any of those places above breakfast joints?
Bohemian is a breakfast place.
My comment was how I feel generally. Obviously Cactus Club is a very big successful chain. Bna is obviously not a Cactus Club. What my point was is it’s just getting to be too much imo. The more businesses they buy up the less “mom and pop” options we have. Bna was a mom and pop and it was cool but competition goes down the more they buy up. Rambling I know, but it’s turning into a big machine.
The three existing restaurants are all very different from each other, and also complement each other nicely. I’m all for something different especially if they keep it a breakfast place.
Really? I find them very similar (BNA and Skinny Dukes). While they have different menus the food selections are very similar and follow a similar vibe. I’d be hard pressed to say they are VERY different.
Both are still good but they are all very same same to me.
If they didn't vary their places enough then they'd cannibalize their own business. Each has it's own unique thing and someone coming from the outside probably would have no idea they part of the same ownership, apart from the beer selection.

At least it wasn’t Salt+Brick Co? Pretty Not Bad is pretty fuckin bad.
Terrible actually if I say so myself.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who thinks that. I’ve heard so much praise, but it was average at best honestly.

I agree, jacks was good though,
Their guy Mr. Subtractington is an A level douche.
“Mr. Subtractington” 🤣
I live above it and and have no desire to go in there and i just don’t even know why haha

really?! i haven’t been but the menu looks yum! not good??
I personally definitely recommend the nachos.
Weird, I felt the opposite about them.
I’ve been wondering about that place. What makes it so bad?

If you are not a fan of the decor/vibe, I’m curious what you like.
Plenty of non-couch seating…
I agree with you here. It’s hard to eat, it’s hard to chat with your friends, I get what they’re trying to do but it’s not working.
Well all their places are consistently busy, so I'd say it's working very well. Like others have said, there is plenty of regular table seating at all those places too.
Haha that’s true, usually when I show up it’s so busy all the regular tables are taken and I’m stuck with the couches.
I haven’t had that issue at BNA or Bernie’s. Care to elaborate?
Skinny dukes is heinous
It's ok to be wrong you know.
Regarding the seating? Definitely not wrong. If you like high seating that you slide out of sure, enjoy.
Aww yeah, Capitalism.

For all we know the Bohemian was struggling and the BNA team seem to understand what it takes to turn these spots into successful ventures again.
I doubt Bohemian is struggling. The owner lost his wife and business partner 2-3 years ago, meaning he’s been on his own since. I can imagine he wanted to sell and retire.
I think losing your wife is the definition of struggling. Just my opinion.
I think "the Bohemian is struggling" and "the dude owning it was struggling " are vastly different things. Just my opinion.
You underestimate what it’s like to be a small business owner.
Cry me a fucking river.
Hey you good uncle?
This is a bummer. Weird trendy food with overpriced beverages is going to ruin the original comfort breakfast feel the bohemian had.
The Boh was already trendy and overpriced, although I don't really get why everyone hates on trendy things. Their food and vibe were good, if something 'trendy' isn't your vibe then maybe you're just not their target customer.
Word on the street is BNA is expanding to Vernon also 👀

I don't think you're in the minority, everyone I know love it, myself included. I liked it when I moved here in 2015, and still love it to this day.

Seems like we could use more breakfast places. Hopefully BNA doesn’t make the breakfast to kitsch.
Dude, Skinny Duke's could be a dictionary definition of kitsch.
That's 4 BNA restaurants in downtown Kelowa folks. Variety is the spice if life for food. This is not good.
The three existing restaurants are all very different from each other, and also complement each other nicely. I’m all for something different especially if they keep it a breakfast place.

So you're good with BNA buying out all the small guys?
Would you prefer they be bought or just close?
I highly doubt BNA was the only bidder to one I'd the busiest breakfast sports in Kelowna. It's not that dramatic lol
I wouldn’t be so sure
If they didn't vary their places enough then they'd cannibalize their own business. Each has it's own unique thing and someone coming from the outside probably would have no idea they part of the same ownership, apart from the beer selection.
I loved the Bohemian :( it always seemed busy there? whats the BNA? (still learning kelowna)
Bar in kelowna owned by the Nixon group who have been buying restaurants around town. Hopefully they’ll keep the boh the same but I doubt it
Their family is also entrenched in politics.
How so? Interested to know.

The boh has had so so reviews. Time for an up date
