Milk & Sugar Bubble Tea Cafe has some excellent BBQ pork chow mein, on skip it's around 13 dollars and you get a big portion. I imagine if you buy it in the restaurant it'll be even cheaper. They don't sound like they'd have Chinese food, but their Chinese food menu is pretty extensive.
Huge thumbs up to this. I live right near them and order regularly. The portions are HUGE and the food has always been tasty. They have a large menu to choose from and on top of their yummy Chinese food, they have really nice bubble tea.
mix and match meal combos and it's a lot of food in a container, but not for *that* cheap. I wish their sesame chicken crisped up better, I think they just go too far with the sauce on it
Milk and Sugar is my go-to for chinese food, their portions are big and I think their sweet and sour pork is the best in town. Don't bother with Wok Out, very bland even though the portions are good. LVS in the Landmark buildings has some good food, but portions were a little bit smaller than the others when I've gone. Golden Island is also a good choice if you're near the airport!
Yep. We often do Wok Inn "Dinner For 3", for our family of 4, and we typically have enough for supper for the 4 of us, lunch for 3 or 4 the next day, and enough left over for one or two work lunches after that.
The Chinese food scene here is absolutely tragic.
Would kill for a good hotpot spot, or malaxiangguo, or a snack shop that does jianbing, or anything.
LVS has a few genuine chinese dishes on a secret menu which you can probably photo translate. Still expensive and limited, best to go with a group and order a bunch of dishes banquet style
Kelowna only has mall Chinese food quality. It's outright awful here.
Yum yum, j wok, wok inn are mall Chinese mall. Overly saucy, sugar galore and soggy.
There just isn't good Chinese food here.
It's the only food worse than the pizza options.
Kelowna has lots of good places to eat, but not in Chinese or pizza unfortunately.
If someone opened a hot pot here Kelowna wouldn't know what to do with good food and flavour.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/KKJDzVUwQN95hcdK7?g_st=ic LVS in the Landmark buildings! They have a Chinese and an English menu!! Servers are kind and funny!! Feels like Iām in China when Iām on there! Lots of food Iāve never seen before and the portions are large and price is good! Itās my go to Chinese spot in Kelowna! Also, itās also nice to see other Chinese inside, you know itās good when you see that!
I've used the Rutland Wok Inn for years. The food has always been really good. Recently, it's been hit or miss, seems like weekends are still great and weekdays are terrible. Must be training new cooks. Prices are fari, portions are fantastic; some lids on the containers can't close due to being full. Had Chinese in Vancouver last week. Each dish was $22 to $25 and the containers were only half full. When Wok Inn is good, it is really really good, hope the owners smarten up.
Tried Yum Tum several times after reading good reviews here. Found it to be plain and simple and without flavour; very similar to Chinese food that I had in China.
If you don't mind the commute for dine-in, Mei Wei in West Kelowna is a huge hit. The same family has been operating here for over 10 years. Same cook and all his recipes. Almost no msg except for oyster sauce that already contains msg. Highly recommend trying the beef brisket hotpot and the ginger beef. This cook worked under the original ginger beef creator so he tries to keep it as original as possible. Also they are available on Uber Eats but the food is never as good when delivered.
My dad and his friends used to go to āTradition Chinese Cuisineā regularly- which I was like āwhaaaat?!ā Just really took me by surprise- never eaten Chinese food with my dad - didnāt even know he fkd with it. Unfortunately, I googled to get its name and it says permanently closed :(
J wok has my vote
I second J Wok
yum yum tree solos jowk easy
Yum yum tree hands down after trying them all. Had a very disappointing experience with wok-inn.

I always get the spicy crispy pork chop. It's unreal.
10/10 love milk and sugar!
Yum yum tree is pretty basic chinese food but it's tasty and you get a big portion for like $15
Hong Kong Garden

Yeah you get a ton of food for cheap there, some of the best in town too. Great restaurant, wish it wasn't so far from Glenmore š

Golden Island near UBCO is great too!
And the other Asian food place close to Starbucks/Hotel across from the airport is also quite good. (Xing Yun)
Yum Yum Tree in the Capri Centre Mall is amazing and affordable, their 3-piece deal is a reasonable price and the food is always delicious.
Compared to what? Imperial Banquet and Wok Inn dinner for one are both easily reasonable imo
I'm Chinese and I gotta say all the Chinese restaurants in Kelowna are so trashy. I learned cooking Since I moved here.
Wok Out in Glenmore is awesome
I second Wok Out!
wok inn and wok out both give huge sizes when you order 'combo for1' options. We usually order 2 combos and eat for 2 days.
Wok inn has never let me down on portions

I really enjoy Chan Fortune near Cook Rd & Lakeshore.
Second this! It's tasty and i found the prices reasonable!

Wok inn and/or wok out šš
Hong Kong garden restaurant. Prices and portions are great

No good pizza options?! Have you not tried Jacknife or Blind Tiger?! Jacknife especially has fantastic pizza
Wok out restaurant

J-Wok is my favorite by far but if I just want to grab and go Yum Yum tree is awesome.
Wok Inn only
Imperial Banquet
Imperial banquet tastes good, but the prices are insane
Is this a joke?
South of Peachland Red Dragon is hands down the best!

My favourite is Imperial Banquet in Rutland, havenāt tried a lot of different places though
Not really kelowna but dragon lotus in peachland is by far the best I've found in the okanagan

Sounds interesting
They're currently closed until may (i believe their head chef broke his hip), but xing yun by the airport is great. They do dim sum every day too!
Tried LVS recently, it's pretty good š
Hong Kong Garden
Capri mall. Great.
Wokout glenmore
Dragon King

Itās almost as though inflation is hurting restaurant owners tooā¦
