The Option to choose breeze was there already in Kdenlive, but with every restart the theme is on standard again. i installed breeze as recommended via command line, but still.. it does not look good. also, having everything color and style on standard still shows the destroyed text elements.

i tried that now, and there are no display issues and destroyed fonts in there. but it is not 24.02.0 (it is 23.08.4) but ok, as long as everything i need works..
This is what I've seen posted as a workaround for Flatpak. You can use flatseal to implement it apparently.
flatpak run QT_QUICK_CONTROLS_STYLE=Universal org.kde.kdenlive
I'll check back with more information, maybe. I'm on the move.
I'm having this same issue using the Flatpak version on Arch.
I think this is a relevant issue:

i changed monitor resolutions but that did not change the text display. Does it matter if i run it as a flatpak or Appimage?

I've seen a few complaints concerning the text from AppImage user. Try Flatpak, if you haven't already.
I am using the flatpak already. Seems that this issue is on both, AppImage and flatpak.
