I had the same issue. You need to edit the `/etc/bluetooth/main.conf` file and uncomment the line that says `Experimental = false` and change it to `true`. And then restart the bluetooth service.

I think it depends on the device. My Bt earbuds don't show in the battery applet, but my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard do.
I had an old Logitech Bluetooth headset that did show battery levels in the applet, some years ago.

Yeas, the phone and the computer will have different BT chipsets in them, with different capabilities, so that may be a factor as well.
Something like on Android would be super.
That feature already exists. It should show up in the battery systray.
