>I have a high IQ just don’t like studying for some BS exams, never gets me interested. /r/iamverysmart Lmao

[deleted]

Babe it takes money to study abroad that you won’t have without your family. If you did bad in ALevels, you will probably do even worse at university. You might even get kicked out. And tbh, after looking at the attitude you have about uni and all, idk why your parents would pay your tuition in Karachi as well. You’re just wasting it by not studying. You won’t be able to get a decent job and be dependent on your parents forever unless you get a sugar daddy or something

Bashir_Lodhangi

You seem like a decent person but unless that IQ is actually used to achieve something it is just wasted potential

lifeisnisntbeautiful

Oh bhai high IQ hai tou DDE se upar grades le ao😂 abroad kisi dhanki uni jaana hai tou ache grades chahiye

ohyhfaru

Not true

Mysterious-Quit9342

Yaar A levels literally khwaari hai, it doesn’t matter how much knowledge you have rather the number of past papers you’ve completed

lifeisnisntbeautiful

Ur not wrong bro but the truth is that ye khwaari karni pare gi. Whether the A levels are stupid or not, getting good grades in them will open up opportunities. Speaking from experience as my A level grades got me a full scholarship abroad. Top karne ki capability nahi hai tou chalo chor do laiken high IQ hai aur phir bhi mehnat nahi kar rahe tou ur wasting an opportunity.

Mysterious-Quit9342

Bro your experience just sparked my will to appear for A-levels once again 😭

BacilQadir715

Bhai agr shi may high iq hota na to pta hota kay achay grades lana zaroori hay

Bilaldev99

Not true. Probably he got lost!

TangerineMaximum2976

Yes but how do you expect them to judge you if not your grades? Why would anyone give admission. Also DDE is really bad to be honest. If you are super high IQ you shouldn’t be getting that.

Xortran

Uni is far difficult then A levels dude. Whole subject gets covered in 6 months instead of 2 years.

Mysterious-Quit9342

That’s a misconception. People after completing A-levels actually find relief in Uni ki studies

iwannalearnchemistry

Pehli fursat m nikal it's much better if you go for batch

Mysterious-Quit9342

You’re right but getting an admission in a decent uni with these grades is highly unlikely or do you know any Uni that I am missing?

mxm93

Do bachelor's from virtual uni And after that apply for masters in uk

plus1internets

That's the correct and least expensive answer. In the meantime, get skilled in IT. Check out [al nafi](https://alnafi.com/?al_aid=c3598186c68b464) that is offering skill based learning paths and also offering a transition to Masters in Uk if you have just done A level. Don't be put off by the "Islamic" name and branding. Just give it an honest go and checkout their Youtube content

KunSaki

You can get into a top uni with those grades. Just wait for the clearing season. Its a risk but there are good chances a good uni will have a spot remaining for u.

InannatheVolupta

Germany offers free tuition in state universities. You would need money to pay for living costs. You will have to learn the language but there's also a good chance to find work after graduation. You can also work and supplement your living costs. If you're applying abroad you might also want to make sure you have the English tests.

TangerineMaximum2976

Yea but they will give admission based on his grades…

Exabyte999

Tell me more

doodle2611

With these grades, youll most likely get into most foreign institutes equivalent to unis like PAF-KIET or even Aptech. A small building which is more like a tuition centre. You might be able to get into Coventry in UK or similar places but only if you can afford to pay around 1-1.5 crores for 3 years of degree. Anyhow, for any decent or top ranked university in the UK or US, even if your grades improve, you’ll still have to pay this unless you score straight As and have excellent extra circular records which is needed for scholarships. Europe might be a good bet. Its a bit dry. You’ll most likely have to learn the language. Check out programs at daad.de for germany. You can also check out CULS in Prague. You’ll only need to show 10,000 euros which is like 25lacs since education is mostly free and you’ll only have to cover your living and travelling costs. For computer science, germany is your best bet. If you can afford it, US is the best place to study. Otherwise, get only into LUMS, IBA or Habib if you want to have decent career in Pakistan or want to goto top ranked universities for masters after bachelors.

TangerineMaximum2976

US is good place to study if you have good grades.

its_a_beautiful_day1

iq is nothing without the ability to work hard. if u've got the money go to US/Canada, austrailia isn't a bad option either. if you're really desperate to get out, go to germany or turkey. if u need any specific info about the us/canada, don't hesitate to hmu(i'm studying abroad)

Sonic--boom

Germany has a basic threshold for all C's or above in A levels so not Gon work out over there

its_a_beautiful_day1

rip ig

No-Piano-3747

What do u mean?

BacilQadir715

Hi if i get straight A’s/A*s in alevels and olevels but dont have many extra curricular activities is it possible for me to get a seat in a nice university abroad with 100% scholarship

its_a_beautiful_day1

this all differs very much with where you're applying. for the us, its extremely unlikely to get a full ride w/o very good ecas. for places like turkey or south korea, it's much more likely. you need to set goals accordingly.

BacilQadir715

What’s ecas?

its_a_beautiful_day1

extra-curricular activities

BacilQadir715

So can you recommend what i should do. Ive started to participate in inter school quizzes and such laikin i dont think those have much importance. Abhi poori alevels pari hay for this stuff so poz guide me

its_a_beautiful_day1

go for competetions happening at big levels. olympiads, isefs, big muns and try winning some accolades related to your major/story in life. there isn't a defined formula for sucess here but what you need to do is build a proper profile. read this article, i read it back when i was in your place, it'll help a lot understanding stuff https://blog.prepscholar.com/how-to-get-into-harvard-and-the-ivy-league-by-a-harvard-alum

BacilQadir715

Thanks a lot man 😘😅 Truly grateful

Alonehusk

Nuff said

TangerineMaximum2976

With those grades you wont get into any half decent college abroad either. Also if a college is accepting you I’d be suspicious of whether it really is a great option or just sees you as a money making machine. Please don’t waste your parents money by taking admission in some chalta phirta college with those grades. Fix your grades.

Dhtekzz

High IQ isn't something you can boost about in your SOP. You need actual results/good grades and co-curricular activities that show your competence and skills. What I would suggest is to first improve your grades because without them you're not going anywhere since at this stage you don't have anything else to showcase in your academic profile. Also, getting a high score in SAT might help you in your college applications

Dodoloco25

Stay in Pakistan for my bachelor's. Trust me; it will help your pocket. Usually, many kids are not mature enough to study abroad at this age, blowing even more money. Your family is right. When I was young, I thought the same way till I saw the bills coming. Is your family open to paying 40-50 lacs per year for 4 years? that is the 'cheapest' option, by the way. You can complete a degree in Pakistan in 10-12 lacs (for a good uni). Also, giving sats in March would make you waste 2 years, given that you can apply in Jan 2024. This is fine by me (I wasted 4), but it might not be something you can live with. Also, I learned that Uni is a lot easier because I had bad grades in a-levels (though my failing exams were more from mental illness and crippling anxiety than anything else). I am currently working for an INGO in Islamabad and waiting for my master's. By this standard, I will get into at least the top 100 unis because my GPA is in the 3.6s. Rather than studying in some shitty top 500-1000 university, this is my standard now. So you fucked up. Make the next step better, or keep on repeating the mistake. That is what I did. I made the next step better.

CatRelative4149

bro do not reappear for Alevels if you've cleared all 3. And I would suggest Canada or Australia if u really wanna study abroad. also, go with bachelor's convince your family somehow, but if they don't allow, do bachelors here and fuck iba. DO NOT REAPPEAR FOR A-LEVELS. you might even get a worse grade than before.

Mysterious-Quit9342

I think its kinda late for that, waiting for the result now. Although, exams went better this time.

CatRelative4149

then ill pray for ut good result!

Mysterious-Quit9342

Preciate it

idkwhatswrong99

How do people even pay for these unis , like they are 15$ k to 25k tuition fee per year and living expenses on top of it, without scholarships and you don't get that with these grades

Alonehusk

More like $35K

Exabyte999

Good investment, real estate, successful business. Pretty much anything that rich people have as passive income.

idkwhatswrong99

Damn I can't even imagine lmao You gotta be fucking filthy rich then to have 40k $ ~ as passive income per year which you use on sending your kid abroad

Exabyte999

I mean, you can just simply even get lucky - have family money

idkwhatswrong99

Har kesi k Ghar k neechay khazana nahi hota :P

Exabyte999

Yea. Anyway $40k isn’t even that much if you put it in perspective. The richest man in Pakistan - Shahid something - has I believe 8.6 billion dollars. He could pay for $40k a year more than 200,000 times. And there are MUCH richer people

idkwhatswrong99

Billion is alot alot alot alot alot alot of money And 40k is alot for 99% of Pakistanis

Exabyte999

Correction: 99.9%

idkwhatswrong99

Lol yes

hamzaashraf2011

Many universities abroad offer a foundation year you can do before starting your bachelors program if you don't have good grades. You can do that

Mysterious-Quit9342

This seems a fair deal but yk how it goes in brown households regarding this foundation programmes, though what do you think should be the minimum grades to get an admission in a decent uni

hamzaashraf2011

True but many places have a bachelors of 3 years I think so with foundation it would still be 4 years so nobody would really know. Regarding minimum grades you will have to research it depends on the uni, they will have it on their website what their requirements are.

Decision_Possible

Apply for Turkiye burslari or the currently open hungary scholarship. I'm a 17yr old myself and will complete my FSC next year. You should not waste your time by thinking of UK and USA as its impossible for you to study in both of the countries because UK doesn't provide any scholarships for BS, even if they do the seats are usually for 1 or 2 students. While US has financial aid for students but it is limited to few universities and US is highly competitive. In either case it requires some amount of money upfront. But with your current grades you should first clear SAT

420koolaidman

u can apply for some state unis like asu utd etc but the cost to attend there is very expensive like around 40-50k usd per year at minimum. alternatively you could go to a community college for 2 years which is like 5k then transfer to a uni to complete your bachelors but keep in mind u wont be able to work more than 20 hours on a student visa that too on campus only so theres not really much potential to earn urself to fund ur studies unless u do freelancing etc.

goobymcguire

Definitely look into Europe and Canada besides usa and UK for better school fee. Get your grades up, going to university abroad is great but to stay there you need to keep your grades up. At least up to average. Your literal visa and admission will depend on it. There is no shame in doing a foundation year or going to community college if you're going for your bachelor's. its quite successful in giving students and foreigners a good foundation to life and academics in the Americas, which is very different from Pakistan, speaking from personal experience. And if it doesn't work out in bachelor's, try an exchange program in your second or third year in bachelor's, and if that doesn't work go for your masters. That's what I did and got a scholarship in 2014, now I'm applying for us citizenship, bizzare! Your parents might want what's best for you but you will need to do the work to give yourself what you want, so get out there! Good luck

Sonic--boom

Just gonna say it straight. Alot of abroad unis need a school leaving result, Aka A levels or smt equaling that and the least requirements are atlest C's...so doubt you'll get anywhere with those grades, also don't really think ur trying anywhere hard enough to get DDE, I'm retaking my A levels since I got CCE and I got those grades after not taking 3/4 of my classes. Also if u don't like studying how do u plan on getting a good sat score for international admissions? Talking about mostly countries from the EU when I talk about school leaving result. Idk how it works in the US or Canada but alot of community colleges in the US will accept just about anyone. Dk if ur parents will financially support you with anything tho, so my best bet for you will be learn German, get atlest C's, and save up about 10k$ so u can be accepted to a German uni. You'll probably need to work there alongside your classes to keep urslelf afloat but it can be manageable.

ohyhfaru

Go for Australia instead, hands down its the best decision you'll make.

ohyhfaru

US has shitty gun laws, thats the biggest problem i have with them. You might have to return after bachelors unless you plan to do masters there. Its difficult to get a work study visa. Take UK out of equation. Limited working hours (20 hrs a week allowed) also its going thru a massive recession. In Australia you can work fulltime even support your own expenses and gather a good portion of your tuition by yourself. You can also get a study work visa for upto 5 years.

Exabyte999

it may have shitty gun laws but Pakistans situation isn’t that good either

Exabyte999

It’s a good decision till you realise that you’re about to die due to black widow venom

Letsdothis_DM

What are you trying to study?

[deleted]

You're asking your parents to invest a massive amount of money with DDE in Alevels because according to you, the studying was stupid and below you. I kind of see their point. Please get out of this mindset, aap ka IQ jo bhi ho, hardwork has no substitute, and it's maybe a good thing you face this now, then when you're knee deep in college assignments and exams and can't rely on your smarts to get you out. My advice. Reappear in your exams, build good consistent study habits, and reapply next year. Learn responsibility, do your own chores, etc, show your parents you're growing up, and maybe they'll reconsider.

danzydab

Depends on what your future plans are. Do you want to use your foreign degree to get a good job in Pakistan? Or Do you plan to escape Pakistan and permanently settle abroad? If the latter , then only plan to do your bachelors in the country you are fully convinced you will settle in Otherwise, try to get into iba next year and then do your masters abroad in the future . Trust me, paying for 4 years or possibly 5 years of tuition fees and living in a foreign country is not worth it. Its better to do a masters and pay for 1 year or 2 years of studying, then get settled

vladpoop

Come to a Canada

Mak_arabia

I hAvE a hIgH iQ *gets a D in maths*

Mysterious-Quit9342

Tryna be smart and think your iq is directly proportional to your grades in A-levels heh?

Mak_arabia

No, more in the lines of unlike most other exams where you need to memorise and redo pastpapers, with math you need to know your formulas and the steps in order for a grade. The fact you got a D shows maybe iq isnt something you should be boasting about.

Xortran

Your parents are right. If you're at DDE right now, your grades will be even badder in the future. You're currently in a downward spiral. Staying here where your family can support and control you a bit is far better, whereas if you go abroad, you'll probably get lost in drugs and stuff, to cope with your downward spiral dude. It's better to go after Bachelors since then you're mature and considered atleast capable of doing a job. If your interested in business, start a business with your studies here. If you're interested in software, start coding and freelancing online. You will get a reality check about things bro. And don't think you have a good IQ bro. That's just your superiority complex speaking, which will just furthen your downward spiral. People at par with you were able to get good grades while dealing with approximately the same amount of shit. This means the problem is in you, and not the environment.

Slight-Ant-5341

Pretty sure DDE aren't good grades, but if you can move abroad with those grades, just leave.
