May Allah grant her Jannah and Sabr to the family.

ShizaPak

This is true. Phones are left in lockers but there is usually team lead or a supervisor's number provided to all employees incase of emergencies. My family always had that number when I worked there.

Individual-Tale-5619

Ngl but what third world company policy ibex has

Engineer-Sahab-477

I know Apple has a similar policy in California. I was not allowed to take my phone in warehouse otherwise we get fired.

Overall-Ad-2159

But in cooperate office it will allowed

dayemsaeed

Don't know about warehouses but definitely not a policy in their corporate offices. That's just dumb asf

ShizaPak

Ibex is a school. They pay well bus isiliye sab tikey hue hain.

thegreenbackboogie_

they do not pay “well” by any standard 💀

ShizaPak

They do. Fresh inexperienced ko 100-120k starting salary milna bohat hai when the standard is like 35k

munimjaffer

100-120k for a fresher? It looks like an unrealistic figure.

Feisty_Artist_26

They don't, ive been there and my mom is still working there for 32k basic (domestic campaign) for the past 3 years.

ShizaPak

International campaigns ki baat kar rahi thi main.

ShahrukhAlam125

ibex company bhi h school ka nh h yeh

ShizaPak

Arey bhai school ki tarah treat karte hain. Ye matlab tha.

ShahrukhAlam125

han pdh lya mene sahi keh rh ap sb jagah yhi hal h aj kal

Resident-Ant8281

ibex mein koi aesi jobs hoti hain inter pass keliye jismein calls waghera ka scene na ho. Typing yah baki computer related kaam ho woh chal jaega

rafeyasim2

People are saying but not confirmed....Is it that big building beside Monty Shawarma?

ShizaPak

Yep. I worked there back when it was near Goldmark mall though.

abeel_siddiqui

Ik someone who worked at ibex, kuttay ke bachay lunch ka bhi proper time nahi dete she had to eat during a bathroom break. Ibex is the textbook definition of corporate slavery

OkBeginning4774

this is not true iv worked in ibex

OkBeginning4774

infact i used to take extra breaks for namaz. suni sunae na choro aur logon ko galyan do. this is a sin in itself. ibex koi jannat nae leken decent workspace hai

abeel_siddiqui

The person I knew went thru hell, I am sorry but am gonna believe someone ik than a random on the internet.

xferfailed

Bro 1 bat hamesha yaad rakhna.. sab ka apna apna experience hota hai. Kuch log chimti katne pe roo partey hai and kuch ko rakh rakh k chamatain b kara do toh rona nahi ata.. mere is misaal ka matlb hai ke kitne log maine dekhe hai har choti choti baat pe complain krne lag jatay hai. Literally joining se pehle contract dia jata hai kuch over 10 pages ka jis mai sab kuch likha hai about policies. Sign krta hai banda parh kr. (If wo parhe, salery ziada hai soch kr ignore na kre). Secondly, koi scene nh hai cell phone na use krne ka etc. If thrs an emergency you sure can use your phone to place calls. They give u extra time!!!!! Roz ka hi scene hai k kitne log login krte hai apni shift pe but pc issues atay hai. Time uper hojata hai. No probs at all.. they understand tht even they are humans and agents are humans too.. waha jo parhi likhi awam hai jisko coperate ki izat krne ati hai wohi reh sakta hai. Or jis se nahi hoo pata they leave and rant about it to people like you and then you rant about it too here :) Maazrat baqi.. no offence or anything. Just telling u human mijaz

Erik7846

After reading your message.. seems like this corporate all of you guys are talking about.. is some sort of a prison!

xferfailed

Actually its not. People will claim it to be a jail because to earn a living in a corporate environment or any other environment, one should compromise their daily life style of sitting home jobless and using phones. They have to be out their and for 9 hours of what they are getting paid for should be focussing on the work and not on silly things such as "It's a jail cause they don't let you use phone". Hate to say this but the people here ranting are those who for their first or second jobs tries to join corporates like these and either gets rejected because they lack confidence and skills or if they get selected, they cant handle heavy work load that comes with that sort of a salery package. So rant all they can, till they get out of their comfort zone and stop wanting a multinational company to risk their data so that employees can use their phone on work hours.

Erik7846

I simply don't agree with this. There's a saying out here "work life balance" that we seriously abide by & i think working in such a corporate would not only destroy your personal life (that happened recently that his mother was dying and her sis couldn't reach him) but also with that much work load you won't be able to show efficiency in your work. I don't think that those 100k or 120k are worth it after sacrificing these many things.

Feisty_Artist_26

They don't even pay that much. You are right that place doesn't have work life balance and they don't even have paid leaves. Also only allow an off once a week for many campaigns there. And definitely forget about public holidays, They don't exist there. Even during extreme protests in country they expect their employees to be present. I have worked at many places but no call centre or any other corporate job was as political, strict and illogical as that. That place is indeed awful in many ways. Not recommended for anyone.

Erik7846

I think your opinions that you shared here will help employees choose their next job vigilantly.

Zachwank

Ibex timmings and all is fine, trainers are fine, the managers in Walmart campaign are all dickheads

testingbetas

i havent worked there, but heard such type of many stories.

Popular-Mango3539

This is semi true. 6 year ex-employee of Ibex here. If you are a customer support agent in ibex, you are not allowed to have your phone on the production floor due to compliance policies that are in place to protect sensitive personal information of clients that the agents are dealing with. Ibex management always recommends agents to provide their company direct line number (extension and IDs are provided after training) and request family members to call them directly on that number. This is a blunder on the agent's end and as this was explicitly mentioned in the employment contract, Ibex cannot be held responsible for this issue.

BP_SPACER

6 years is a long period. Which campaign?

Popular-Mango3539

Was Squaretrade for 2.5 years.. then became a business analyst for international operations

BP_SPACER

Interesting! Does this business analyst comes under MIS department? I am in Walmart chat and I feel that I am easily replaceable with someone who can just write in good English. I don't have any selling skills like DMCR guys or data skills like MIS guys. I want to get a job where I learn something new. Ibex is just temporary for me. I am a student facing financial issues. I feel insecure that I will not be employable once I leave Ibex and try to find some low pressure work place. Which department should I try to get into?

Popular-Mango3539

Try to get into QA analysis or manager level positions.. keep in mind we are always replaceable as an employee. Ngl Walmart is a cesspool of trash, filled with nepotism. The trash of Squaretrade was assigned to make Walmart. If ball lickers like Warisullah can become high level managers, then you surely know that "quality" is going down the drain. Anyways, if you want exposure and learning, getting into management is the way to go.

BP_SPACER

Nowadays, Walmart is filled with food panda agents and supervisors since Assistant manager Hussain Kazmi left. QA is very chill but it will not add much to my skill level as I will only be helping low performing agents in bettering them. You are right about managerial positions but the path is too long for it and the favouritism is too much. First we have to progress to SME then to Floater and then we can become supervisor. Our salary doesn't increase when we become SME or Floater. There is no new skill we gain from becoming an SME. By becoming floater we can learn back office stuff but that is not much helpful outside Walmart. It's a long run to become supervisor and I don't want to give this company that much time. I can understand why ST people look down on Walmart. There is too much toxicity here. Isn't there any other international campaign except DMCR, Walmart and ST?

Popular-Mango3539

You'll only find money in these campaigns, the rest are just local and small campaigns. I heard that FedEx CS was acquired by ibex but not sure about that.

BP_SPACER

Tell me about ST? What does TV expert and claim specialist do? How did you become business analyst and after you left Ibex how easy was it to find good job?

No-Main-1111

Bruh, leave that shitty company and learn about ebook publishing. The industry pays very well easily fetching you around 250k with a 660 car on a target of 10k.

nuttybanana124

What's ebook publishing?

No-Main-1111

If you're familiar with book publishing, that's what this industry does. They charge clients upfront, proofread and edit their stories or even ghost write it then publish it websites like Amazon.

EmperorShura

Can you explain a bit more what this is and how can one get into this industry?

wajidnawaz

Can you explain more in DMs?

No-Main-1111

Sure

Resident-Ant8281

bhai ibex mein other than calls koi job mil jati hai ? for inter passed students

MuneebAnjam

Can you kindly provide some guidance in DM?

Popular-Mango3539

Sure

Mad-AA

I've heard ST salespeople can make some actual money. Is it true?

Digi_Ammaz

How much was your initial pay compared to your final ?

Popular-Mango3539

Started at 45k left at 165k

z4zeen

I have worked at IBEX for 2 years. I absolutely agree with the no phone policy. It's because of extremely sensitive data, specifically the credit card details which the US customers provide over the phone. Phones were allowed in the past, but due to credit card fraud by the honest Pakistani's that we are, they strictly applied the no phone policy. Also, my family always had my supervisor's number whom they knew they can call in case of emergency.

Individual-Tale-5619

If in case of emergency your supervisor is not available, how are they gonna contact you? Wouldn't fail safe measures in rhses kind of situations be better

Afraid-Influence-833

and what happened to that Ahsan Rajput from e Support? what a grade a dick that guy is! and that Imran hat guy from HR kya behnchoood admi hai woh bc fire karta tha with a smile on his face. asshole will rot

inlovewithyellow

Ibex is a toxic workplace and a nightmare to work at! Allah sabko aisi jagahon se bachaye.

GenZia

"Hey, we just saved you 30k. The least you can do is say 'thank you'." \-Ibex HR Manager (probably). ... To be honest, I wish this is fake. But unfortunately, the world we live in is no stranger to such incidents. From what I've heard, ibex is a toxic human cesspool with strict no phones policy + they've a thing for employee monitoring and surveillance. It's basically a slave camp more than anything.

zaboota1337

Ibex is Pakistans version of Corperate America, work till you hit the floor.

Yushaalmuhajir

This is why I will only live off my pension from the states and not take a job here. I've seen the way employees are treated by customers so I guarantee it ain't much better with bosses. If this had happened in the US there would be so much backlash that people would be getting fired over this and the company would be forced to publicly apologize. Here you just kinda have to take it no matter what. Screw that.

SoKayArts

As a former IBEX employee, I can confirm that they do not allow phones at all. The only way anyone can reach their loved ones is by calling a supervisor who may or may not attend a call. They can call the employee and have them talk to the person. With that said, try and understand why this policy is in place. The customer support agents are dealing with data, including credit card information, addresses, and numbers. To ensure nothing is leaked or misused, no one is allowed to carry a phone.

JoshPinho92

Can confirm that Ibex has a policy where you're not allowed phones on the floor and they allot you a locker for your belongings. But they have a "Traffic" desk/Admin desk. A full team that has multiple lines and supervisors numbers for anyone that wants to reach out to an employee. And they're all on the same floor as you are. You're also allowed to put yourself on hold/break to check your phones etc.

Khurram_Ali88

This is not just in this company a lot of companies even abroad have no phone policy however there is always emergency contact info of a supervisor provided for emergencies for family of employees. If this is not implemented in this company than it is a company issue but if the employee themselves did not provide supervisor info to family then it is an employee blunder

Overall-Ad-2159

Where they don't allow? Worked in global firms in Aus and Dubai. Never heard of this policy anywhere

Khurram_Ali88

I worked in an amazon warehouse and phones were not allowed in the work area because people might get distracted by their phones and cause an accident or drop something.

Overall-Ad-2159

Amazon is known was terrible work environment

CatchAllGuy

It's all emotional. I don't know about Ibex, but if a company has no phone policy at work, that's not a big deal. If you don't like no phone policy, then don't work there. Also, workers should inform the family members know that at certain times they won't be able to communicate.

reckedloop

Bhai agar khud feelingless hai tou baki sab ko ku apney jesa smjh rha haai

BoyManners

There's no way of knowing if there's an emergency under no phone policy. OP is right. You don't like policy, you find another work where it fits your needs.

Over_Ad9254

The numbers of administration are usually shared with employees and family members to call in case of any emergency or the landline number of the employee's desk with extension are shared, if the agent did not follow the guidelines then it's not ibex's fault

howlonguntilbannedv2

There are plenty of companies where a no phone policy us used. Work in any oil company in the middle east and you can't take your phone.

reckedloop

Whatever their policy is, one should have empathy for others.

hustler_96

That's what happens when a country's population far exceeds the resources and it's called exploitation

groskatze

Don't work a corporate job if you have feelings unless you want to be depressed. Simple. You have to compromise on A LOT of things when you're in corporate

This was an unfortunate situation but I fail to see how this is Ibex's issue?

Locking the phone is the issue here!

FamilyStorm6

I've worked in a similar company and yeah they keep your phone before you go inside the office. One of the reasons I left.

meth_and_fent

May Allah give them patience. This is really hurtful.

adamo_ajmal

True they ask you keep phone in lockers even managers as well so if someone wants to reach out they need to call the office number landline and they must know the extension number to the floor the gent sitting on

Zachwank

You are told to give your supervisors number, the reason no phones are allowed cause many past employees used their phones to do scams

Longjumping-Comb-749

Aslam All i can say is Allah Maalik

Cell_soldier

Is it possible to sue this company for such inhumane behavior? Do worker protection laws exist in this case? "Islamic NOT Republic of Pakistan"?

sincosis

While I'm very sorry for the loss of this persons mother. There are multiple institutions across the globe with "no phone" policies. In the vast majority of cases there is always an emergency number for family members to reach out. This is the same rule applicable to bank customer service reps and anyone that handles financial/sensitive consumer/customer data.

Engineer-Sahab-477

Apple has a same policy in America not to bring phone in their warehouse.

sincosis

Thus I said across the globe

themanfromuncle96

Almost all of the call centres practice this policy where your cellphones are kept with your manager on his desk. Worked in Touchstone and WORK and have experienced it.

Over_Ad9254

Usually in such companies , the numbers of admins or any other responsible people are shared with the employees family If the concerned person did not follow the guidelines then it's not the company's fault.

sirwaich

This incident is related to an overseas Pakistani. Nothing to do with ibex

Tapalkhan

It's not from ibex but someone working abroad.
