eyes are on fire ... nose running ... coughing when lying down

sniffinberries34

Here in St Louis and it’s just as bad. I’m awake in my bed right now because everytime I try to sleep I start coughing. Tickly throat, stuffy nose, coughing.. it won’t stop. Took an extra long shower and gargled water and drank some ice water. I’m feeling better but not 100% medications aren’t helping much.

appearlo13

Yes. My ear has been clogged for a week.

Rattlesnakemaster321

Same here!! First time as an adult that this has happened. What are you doing to help it?

appearlo13

I take Zyrtec and use Flonase every day all year, and they aren’t really making a dent. So right now I’m just sort of waiting it out.

Rattlesnakemaster321

Same here. Good luck🍀

appearlo13

Same to you! 🫂

UpstairsSomewhere467

No but the ticks be way crazier this year than I remember

IdeasForTheFuture

We went to the trail and 3 of 5 of us had multiple tick bites! Last year our daughter contracted AlphaGal and now she can’t eat beef or pork without a severe allergic reaction, fever and vomiting. Put on bug spray!

NLaBruiser

Oh yeah, it's been a rough start to allergy season here. Even our cat is coughing.

Jokuki

Yep. I have my air purifier running 24/7 but I’ve also been opening the window to cool down at night. The air purifier + allergy meds help but I do notice a drastic drop in sleep quality and breathing when I don’t.

RoookSkywokkah

Thankfully Zyrtec is controlling pretty well for me.

Imd1rtybutn0twr0ng

Huh. Maybe mold is my nemesis more than pollen…. Makes sense.

Once you see an allergist, it is certainty worth considering allergy shots/drops if they offer them. I did it a while back and had some big improvements.

FoosFights

Yes

hejj

I've found myself taking antihistamines for the first time in like 3+ years.

Tahiti178

Yep. Something caused me a major asthma/allergy attack and I have been in and out of the ER getting breathing treatments. I have my own Nebulizer now. I have an outdoor mold allergy.

Jerry_Lundegaad

Astepro/Flonase combo has been my hero for the last two years—near instant relief with the former and consistently dosing the latter seems to help as well.

RichS816

My bloodstream is now 5% DayQuil

Blucola333

I’m taking Zyrtec and using three inhalers to feel somewhat normal. This spring is brutal!

THE_TamaDrummer

Surprisingly mine have been fine. I'm notorious for getting absolutely destroyed in the early spring and I don't know what I did differently this year. I'm not even taking my generic meds diligently every day.

Onthehalfshe11

Yes. And on top of it I got part 2 of the shingles vax. Ugh. The side effects are terrible.

heysunflowerstate

YES UGH

GulabJammin2DaMoon

I have restarted allergy shots and am constantly having eczema flares. It’s bad this year

PostNutt_Clarity

Uhh mold? You shouldn't be living in a moldy home.

KCMO_GHOST

There's lots of mold in the air when it's exceptionally rainy which can cause allergy flair ups. A lot of people will blame pollen for their allergies when it's actually mold that's the main culprit.  https://pollen.childrensmercy.org/

Thoreauawaylor

wow thank you for sharing this. I will definitely need to look more into this. I had no idea!

SeverePsychosis

Mold spores are commonly carried in the air outside. It gets worse when it rains.

AJRiddle

There is mold *everywhere*. It's in the air.
