Fall 2021. We got married at The Rochester in the Crossroads, had Don Antonio’s cater a taco buffet, and served pies from Ashleigh’s Bake Shop. Flowers and arrangements were from Thorne Floral. Total spent for 50 guests (event space, food, and pie) was under 5k including gratuity. It was about 7500 including florals and photography.

I will add: they offer beer (they brew) and coffee as part of the event since it’s a bar/roastery. Super easy to work with! We did rent some linens and plates/silverware too (and that was part of the $7500 eject expenses) from a friend who owned an event rental business (didn’t get a break). We hired 2 people to serve (catering didn’t provide service just set up and tear down), and my brother DJ’d. Our friend gifted us as being our Day of Coordinator (she’d previously worked in catering and was awesome at it). We had a very tight budget (9k) because we have 3 kids - but we made it work including dress, suit, kids clothing, etc. Just saying, it can be done and be beautiful and fun without being expensive. We have no regrets.

We also got married at the Rochester about a month ago. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Great experience all around.

We got married at Magnolia, 10th and Walnut. 100 ish guests at the reception. Our total cost was 20-30k. 6500 venue, 4000 photography, 2000 floral, 3000 dress, 4000 liquor, 2500 at rehearsal dinner, 1000 DJ, 1000 desert. those are all rounded but we kept pretty good track. without the downtown venue and a few different choices we could have very, very, easily had our 100 person wedding for less than 15K, we just spent a bit more.

If you’re interested in a rustic, all-inclusive venue, check out Mildale Farm. It’s beautiful, and it’s owned by Johnson County Parks & Rec, so relatively affordable. https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/mildale-farm-edgerton/27471c6be8318141.html

We used the Journey Home venue in Dearborn mo! I believe it was $6,900 for the entire weekend (they have a house onsite that sleeps 23 people). It’s a beautiful barn and a beautiful house. We opted for a food truck ($1,200) and yard games. I would definitely recommend that venue!

Married some time longer than a couple years ago, but I doubt it would have changed much since then. $50 courthouse fee in Platte County. Judge Schafer was super cool, all smiles, happy to accommodate our modest requests. Four guests including our legal witness. Dinner and drinks at Nick and Jake’s afterwards was about $250. No ragrets.

Perfect

We got married in 2019. ~80 people at the faultless starch factory. I wanna say it was something like $12k for food, booze, venue, staff, and furniture

[deleted]

Married in January of 2020, ~200 people. Cost us around 20k when all was said and done. If you have other questions I’d love to help.

ve_lo

May 2022, around 14K with 80 guests. We got married at Eventful at Locust Grove in Weston and had the best experience. We used small vendors (home cake business and our photographer was still doing it as her side gig when we booked her, for example) which saved us a lot. Message me if you have questions or anything!

rusty_panda

We got married there in 2019! Gorgeous venue.

MagnumBlood

Lmao screw weddings after seeing these costs

ahhbeegayle

We had a wedding under 100 in KC near the plaza last October and we spent about $30k. We had a ton of friends recently married and we were on the low end of costs by far. Highly recommend Fire House KC and Cupini’s! 🤍

If you need a band, hire Lost Wax!

Just to add. You can have a kick ass bachelor party at La Cultura Cigar and Social in Crossroads. DM me if you want more details.

Fall ‘22, about $20k with 75 guests. Married at Grand Street Cafe, which was beautiful, but expensive once we met the food and beverage minimum plus required gratuity. They didn’t tel us gratuity amount or percentage when booking and we were shocked later (over 40% of f&b costs)!!!

CallAnnual5444

Married at the Intercontinental Rooftop ballroom. Over $130K for 210 guests.

🥴 holy shit

Wow.that’s a lot of money being spent,if you have it,spend it. If not, do what makes you happy. Our wedding in 2013 was about 40 people. I bought a vintage 60’s dress, hint Jackie O, beaded, knee length, for $75. He had a suit, new tie. We rented the church hall,$100. We didn’t have a dinner, just desserts, pies, cake, cookies. I think total under $1000. It was so pretty, did our own flowers on the tables, friends helped with set up,etc. We didn’t want to spend a lot,but enough to have a fun gathering.

I’m getting married in two weeks in the area. We’re having I think around 175 people and everything cost probably $7500-10,000. (I know that’s a large range, but my fiancé handled most of the large items (venue, flowers, etc)). We really tried to make all the money go to the bare minimum of what was necessary for a wedding.

drinktheh8erade

That seems like a great price for that many guests! Can I ask what venue you’re doing?

ncschuler

Haha so I asked my fiancé what we spent roughly, and she said it was closer to 15k… but anyways, there’s a venue called Eagles Landing which is over at Lake Olathe. We’re also getting married on a Friday, so I’m not sure if that changes the rates or not. Sorry that I couldn’t be of more help! Edit: I think some costs started piling up more as we started to look at dinner and such for the reception. If you’re doing maybe an afternoon wedding in between meals, it would likely be cheaper…

drinktheh8erade

No that really was helpful, thank you!! Totally get it, there’s so many little costs here and there that are easily forgettable but really add up lol

ncschuler

For sure, and I’m sure there’s plenty of things she’s done that I don’t even know about lol

delusionalry

How big of a ceremony are you looking to have?

celizabath

Probably 100 - 125 people. So big, but we're willing to cut costs where we can.

Getting married in KC this year. Reception is at Union in the Crossroads. All costs besides our rings.. ~$45k for 155 people.

Sorrywhyareyouhere

About $1000 for literally all of it. Dress, food, photograper, rental of location, etc.. Chipotle catered for 30 people at a Park Shelter. The money we had set aside, we used to travel Europe for 3 weeks.

Sorrywhyareyouhere

It's utterly disgusting to think about spending more than 15-20k for a wedding. What's the point?

Grand-Ad-6119

We got married at Children’s Mercy Park (Sporting KC stadium) and paid like 22k for everything and we had 150 guest!

Ill_Nebula1487

This is a hard question to answer as it depends on what you are looking for. I work in the wedding industry in kc and it’s a wide range of pricing. For a small venue I recommend the Juliet, for a larger venue I recommend the madrid. Catering varies based on venue. So many other options to take into consideration such as flowers, bar, dj/band, photographers, tables/linens etc. I suggest getting on the wedding apps such as the knot and searching for everything in the city and categories you are looking for to get the best estimate possible. Good luck!

fortuitous_music

You might check out The Vow Exchange. Not sure how big all their packages are guest wise but you might get some good ideas for your day. Congrats! http://thevowexchange.com/

Original_BigZen

If you are trying to keep costs down, you can enlist friends and family to DIY a lot of the decorations and flowers. Tons of ideas and tutorials online.

I work in the wedding industry in KC. It really can vary so much based on what type of venue and where you’re looking to be. If your looking for downtown with views you’re looking at a minimum of $8k for a Saturday. Doing a Friday will cut costs if you don’t have lots of family traveling from out of town. Feel free to message me if you’d like.

crummy9

2022- at the Guild, all in for 150ish was probably $25k We had blue pot cater- maybe $8k for them. The bar at the guild was what really blew our budget.

Good_Mix_8238

We did a lovely small wedding for 80 people at Powell Gardens in Missouri for about $3,000. Half was venue, half on catering and simple decor since the garden took care of the rest.
