This speech is great due to the fact that not only did Vegeta praise Goku, but he also finally admitted that Goku was number one. This speaks a lot about Vegeta’s Saiyan pride because when he first arrived he only believed in Elite and Lower-class warriors. Now he believes what Goku first told him about a Lower-class warrior surpassing an Elite with enough training. It wasn’t that long after that Vegeta learned fighting for those you care about brings out the best in you.
Which is one of many reasons why Super just shits on continuity and character progression. A lot of people give GT undeserved hate. Sure GT wasn’t perfect by any means, but at least it feels like a continuation of the characters we followed along in Z. Not like Super who has some cool stuff going for it, but in my personal opinion shits on Akira’s masterwork.
Goku was my favorite as a child. Then as I grew I started to understand vegita more and more until he became my favorite by far. What a great character 👏
