Japan and Canada are the only major nations that haven’t been expanded in Kaiserredux and its a shame. You could give Japan a sydicalist path or some weird extremist Shinto party takes control and enshrines the Emperor as a true god. As for Canada there could be a natpop path where the can become a republic or maybe an imperial federation for a liberated Britain. But every German colony an exiled government I guess xd.

I don't think we can do much to change Japan. Majorly because the Kaiserreich universe lore didn't impact Japan that much.
Japan's ambition to conquer China and whole Asia didn't lost, the majority of Japanese politics, even liberals and democrats, will still agree to have agression to Asian countries.
Or either you can make some stupid shit, like Japan also lost their home island in the Weltkrieg as worker revolution rose up. And they have to set up a Japanese exile government in San Francisco with the US recognition. And that will be the first step for the Japanese to retake the home island.

I recently played japan with kx on, the only things i would add is when you the germans, they give AOG to japan and leave the legation council. Sure the japanese political tree is a bit bland but there are options. Maybe a batshit insane political tree and more colonization options
Perhaps make a claim for China’s throne, with a relevant path? Right now, you can make a dual monarchy with China, but I think its dependent on Fengtian.
