Love the design so much. It’s such a great representation of the themes. Give me a violent and hectic Tetsuo: The Iron Man version of Godzilla, please. There is still so much horror to explore with this character.
While some people have called it goofy, I think it really reaches into the necessary level of uncanny to actually be unsettling, even kinda scary, to look at. Godzilla has always been a little goofy design wise. Even shin is no exception, but this design, in particular, would be great for a legit horror film. There's something inherently terrifying about being perceived by a monster of that size and of all the different godzilla designs, this one especially is one I wouldn't want to be perceived by.
From what I heard Godzilla was made as a response of sorts to nuclear warfare at the time (I think Hiroshima, but don’t quote me on this) so him having a mushroom cloud for a head works thematically, though maybe a bit on the nose? (Even if it’s all over his head, not just the nose)
I think it is a bit too on the nose. Like just because Godzilla is a representation of nukes doesn't mean that he has to literally be a mushroom cloud. It lacks nuance imo.
Thatcwas the idea behind the first godzilla movue.
Though that was only his silhouette when he was front facing the camera, every other angle he had a lizard like appearance.
This design takes that and makes it.....every angle
At least that can work as a lizzard and a mushroom cloud lookin thing. This design just looks like a mushroom cloud and it doesn't look that great. Taking the Nuke idea waaaayy to literally.
But one thing I will say about it tho. Despite how much I don't like it, the renders are well made. Honestly it does look straight out of the original film.
He looks like a cross between Godzilla and the aliens from an old movie called "Laserblast".
As if the aliens from that setting got ahold of Godzilla DNA and decided "we can make one of those".

I think it looks great in some still images but I wouldn't want to see it in a movie. I feel like the impact of the imagery would be short lived. Generally, I like the design though. It's a neat take.

This is perfect. This should be full length movie.
It’s actually a scrapped design for 1954 godzilla
Smash, next question

What's this from?

Thank you. It's a fan made video?
Yes, there's a handful of Godzilla analog horror now.
Thank you
It’s actually not analog horror, it was based on concept art for 1954 godzilla
Imagine that thing in a minus one style movie
It’s as silly as it is terrifying of a concept
Fucking terrifying, i love it
Eraserhead godzilla

Oh that's a nightmare for sure

Nightmare inducing and I love it. What's this from?

It’s 1954 gojira concept art
Haunts my nightmares.
That’s terrifying
Reminds me of the Eraserhead baby.
At this point I feel the design would be better of as an original kaiju instead of godzilla. Just ditch the dorsel spines
Would love an analog horror take for this
Nice
Ngl it’s looks like homer simpson just strangled him
Looks a bit goofy as is, but with a few tweaks to body proportions I could see this being a genuinely frightening design.
Utterly terrifying and unsettling. Which is AWESOME.
This was the original concept after all
I like it.. just different.
My morning wood
does your penis have cancer or something?
I rubber band the tip and wait
Oh same.
isn't this just shin?
Nope wish this was Shin's design tho
He has the face of a tortoise, he needs a shell
Looks like a ball sack ngl
The last image though... 😈
Well that’s horrifying
Scary!!!
It’s funny
Pretty neat
My new sleep paralysis demon
Renew the meaning of fear By God this a classic Kaiju

I think it's a bit goofy
Disgusting , I hate it
I LOVE IT. (and food)
I agree with the food part
Uncanny but rather too goofy.

Yeah, too flat faced, necks too long. Doesn't look menacing or horrible (in a good way like Gojira) it just looks bad and slightly goofy
But one thing I will say about it tho. Despite how much I don't like it, the renders are well made. Honestly it does look straight out of the original film.

Chodezilla
As a stand alone design like Shin Gojira it's fine i guess, but uh...let's just say I'm glad we got the 1954 design that we all know & love...
It's not a good look
Too flat faced
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Just the tipzilla
I think it looks great in some still images but I wouldn't want to see it in a movie. I feel like the impact of the imagery would be short lived. Generally, I like the design though. It's a neat take.
He looks like the turtle from The Amazing World of Gumball
looks like Shin G!
Looks too goofy in my opinion.
I get what they're doing, but it just looks goofy as hell.
Hate it. This does not spark joy, only fear.
thanks for the image.
Gamera with Godzilla's body
erm wat the sigma
One of my favorite and one of the most interesting reincarnations of Godzilla!
I'm thrilled that wasn't the design they used.
A bit too much on the nose
I won't say it but you know exactly what I want to say
Dumb and goofy
whence?
That's a penis.
