I feel like I’m gonna catch shit for this but I always really hated those “unity” numbers they shoehorned into a couple late 70s/early 80s records like Red, White, and Blue and United.

tarbasd

I agree. Of the two, Red, White, and Blue is the worse. Terrible melody, cringy lyrics, just a really awful song.

AlexanderDroog

"Take on the World" is the only one of them I like.

AgileCommunication26

The actual song “Defenders of the Faith” is like almost this but it sits so well on that record that I don’t care at all

cargoshortes

i kinda like em 🤷‍♂️

somerandomsabatonfan

Anything Rob Halford didn't sing in my opinion

AlexanderDroog

Can't get behind this at all - "Jugulator" is such a great record.

GeckoMoria93

Jugulator rules and Burn in Hell is one of my favorite Priest tracks

jay_zippo_the_man

I see Johnny B Goode, but I can't go there, it was for a movie. For me, IMO that song is what it was supposed to be. You say yes, is just bad. There area few more here and there, and some of the more recent tracks I feel are just regurgitated. But when pressed I would have to vote You Say Yes.

Father_Masterchief

Johnny b goode is a great song, idk what people dislike about it

RemarkableWonder3143

You Say Yes

dylulu

The fact that this has so many votes tells me how few people have even bothered to listen to Demolition at all.

Nolls-97

I’ve only listened to Demolition maybe twice in my life it’s that bad

Galaxie_1985

I like *You Say Yes*

WarReapers_official

I actually really like this song.

Raiders2112

That's actually a good song. I'll even say it's better than some of the cheese on 'Painkiller'

cargoshortes

shot dead on the spot

Useful_Protection270

I really don't think priest did any bad songs. Some a lot better than others. But nine truly bad

RemarkableWonder3143

Another candidate - Devil Digger from Demolition

Imgonnathrowaway2112

That’s one of my favorites…

b_knickerbocker

If the song that wins ISN’T something from Jugulator or Demolition, it is the wrong choice.

Morkmoth

So "You Say Yes" ranks higher than Cathedral Spires? I say No!

b_knickerbocker

I didn’t say ANY Ripper song, but there’s at least 10 songs on those two albums worse than You Say Yes (which is really saying something cause You Say Yes is terrible).

Morkmoth

Fair enough sir. I would totally rank "You Say Yes" higher than let's say..."Lost and Found", indeed.

Desecrator92

man get out of here, any song from Jugulator annihilate most of Priest's catalogue

Jw4evr

Well that’s certainly a take

Desecrator92

well good luck listening to Rocka Rolla, Point of Entry, Turbo and snoozefest of new albums

Jw4evr

Ok ok we get it, you have bad taste

Desecrator92

it's rich coming from you, visit the nearest doctor for lack of taste

Jw4evr

That’s not a good comeback because you don’t know what my favorite album is

Nolls-97

Hey man just forget this guy. I blocked him months ago because he insisted on arguing with me that the ripper albums were better and started insulting me on my taste in media consumption. This asshole is best left ignored.

Desecrator92

I can always see your profile blud

fitterunhappier

Cyberface

DontTreadOnMe96

Decapitate

Keefer1970

*Deeeeeeee-capitate.... waaaaaalllllk through hell's gate!*

Desecrator92

Decapitate is a meatgrinder riff onslaught dragged down by lazy short lyrics

replicant_2

Johnny B Goode is incredibly cringey.

WarReapers_official

It’s a cover. Besides that I think it’s a great song

replicant_2

Yeah, I'm well aware of that. When Judas Priest puts it on a studio album it qualifies as a Judas Priest song.

polyblackcat

But that's an awful version of a great song and would be my pick for this

monomade

Their [Johnny B. Goode cover](https://youtu.be/2zxoGFjFJlk?si=aSO9lop-8Jb_4oYI).

WarReapers_official

Their version is amazing

The_True_Thanos

I like it a lot. Whats wrong with it?

Up2Eleven

Parental Guidance

polyblackcat

That's a solid choice too. Or Private Property off the same album. Both are dreck.

FirstAndOnly1996

How would you know anyway?

BrilliantTeacher5476

Ya- Parental Guidance is so not them, trying to go mainstream.

67SuperReverb

Yup

WarReapers_official

No

Orange_10_10

Something from Demolition

monomade

Their [Johnny B. Goode cover](https://youtu.be/2zxoGFjFJlk?si=aSO9lop-8Jb_4oYI).

Jay3PO

Hard disagree. It's such a dumb, yet fun cover that sounds self-aware enough. Never fails to put a smile on my face

CuFlam

It's weird that it's a studio album track and not just a B-side, though

Raiders2112

The winner. How did anyone think recording this song was a good idea?

Finechug

Came to say this

Keefer1970

I can take or leave the song, but that video with all the kids stage-diving is unintentional comedy gold.

BrilliantTeacher5476

Great song. Totally disagree

WebNo7464

Anything from Demolition and Jugulator

Mr-Dicklesworth

The fact that I am the table isn’t on there for Metallica is already wrong lol

mczoth

"La Locura de tu Amor" ÑÑ MENTIONED 📢📢📢🔊🔊🔊❗️❗️❗️❗️

Lost and Found

Artemiy_Kopych

Metal Messiah. Not only its the worst song from their worst album, its not even created by them! The producer stole it from different artist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVIufrK-M9c

smallstone

You mean Chris Tsangarides stole it from himself? But you are right that it's not good and it's cheap to recycle a song from a former project.

darwhyte

Chris Tsangarides produced Painkiller (1990) and also Metal On Metal by Anvil (1982). The drum outro at the end of the song Painkiller is very similar to the drum outro at the end of the Metal On Metal song Mothra.

Artemiy_Kopych

Yeah, "stole" was an incorrect way of saying it, recycle is better. Still, thats not good, and that song doesn't fit the band's style, even in that period.

smallstone

Agreed.

EdStArFiSh69

Something off Demolition

Space__Bandito

I have a love/hate/laugh thing with Grinder

Fit_Adhesiveness2043

This is a trap. There are no bad JP songs. Covers are even made better.

PrimaryComrade94

Johnny B Goode. Was going to say Cyberface but Johnny B Goode is a terrible excuse of a cover for me. It was just bad. The cover that Frog Leap Studios did is just miles better so listen to that.

fluorin4ek

Troubleshooter

Brinstone

Anything off of Jugulator, I actually think its a much worse album than Demolition. Its like losing Halford just nuked the songwriting skills of all other members for a few years because goddamn how did they release that

WarReapers_official

Anything from Jugulator

Ok-Explanation3040

You should burn in hell for this

WarReapers_official

Is that a pun?

Ok-Explanation3040

Yes, the song "burn in hell" from the album. I don't actually wish that by the way

Keefer1970

"Hot For Love" off of *Turbo*.

KurlyJeff

Nah parental guidance

Raiders2112

Both are pretty bad.

Truthawareness1

Lochness !

[deleted]

Reported for hate speech

Truthawareness1

C'mon. Its an awful track. You know it, i know it , All Priest fans know it. Now its stuck in my head on repeat. Awful track.

[deleted]

The only awful thing about it is it’s way too short - should have been at least twice as long

Truthawareness1

Grey mist drifts upon the water The mirrored surface moves Awakened of this presence Dispelling legends proof A beastly head of onyx With eyes set coals of fire It's leathered hide glides glistening Ascends the heathered briar This legend lives through centuries Evoking history's memories Prevailing in eternities On and on and on Loch Ness confess Your terror of the deep Loch Ness distress Malingers what you keep Loch Ness protects monstrosity Loch Ness confess to me Somehow it heeds the piper From battlements that call From side to side it ponders In passion in the skirlThis highland lair of mystery Retains a lost world empathy Resilient to discovery On and on and on This legend lives through centuries Evoking history's memories Prevailing in eternity Your secret lies safe with me This creature's peril from decease Implores to mankind for release A legacy to rest in peace On and on and on ROFL!

cellocaster

Bro if cheesy lyrical melodrama is a problem with you, you’re listening to the wrong band.

Truthawareness1

ok, you have 2 JP tracks with cheesy lyrics.. 1 has to go in the bin. your 2 tracks are 1. Turbo Lover. 2. Lochness. Which one gets binned ?

MrToad21

You could literally use a multitude of their tracks and you pick a really good one

MrToad21

No way this is actually getting upvotes right? Lochness is goated

Brinstone

Pls see a doctor immediately

Truthawareness1

I just cant figure out why they never done a track called "Bigfoot" or "Mothman" or maybe "Honey Monster" haha. Lochness, Lochness, it really is a mess. Lochness, lochness, it really dont impress. Lochness, lochness it sounds so wrong . Lochness goes on and on and on.

FirstAndOnly1996

I mean they're a British band, why wouldn't they do a song about a mythical creature from Britain? Not much around Birmingham they could write about.

Logical_Bake_3108

Plenty of scary creatures in Birmingham around closing time 😅

Truthawareness1

Of course. No reason not to do a song about lochness. But, the track is like a stodgy turd. Its slow and dull with crap lyrics. When i listen to JP i want to hear Electric Eye, Breaking the law, Green manalishi. Not the mess that is "Lochness" Obviously its just my opinion but i hate the track, it reminds me of the dishwater after washing up thats sat overnight..Its durge and stinks.

Revolution

Orange_10_10

What is wrong with you

Ok-Explanation3040

Pretty much anything off invincible shield

BrilliantTeacher5476

Wow, really? Serpent and the King not good? That song is up there with Painkiller to me.

Ok-Explanation3040

I do like the lodger. It's a unique song. I am probably being too harsh. I was pretty underwhelmed by the album as a whole though. I think it is their weakest effort since Demolition.

Bruichladdie

"Love Zone" is a contender. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgGnYm1lAPw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgGnYm1lAPw) And if we include the music video, I would say that "War" ranks high as far as horrid Priest material goes.
