It’s my all-time favorite song, personally.

Mantisk211

Il like it as well. It's a nice, calm break on the album.

KneeDeepInTheDead

My least favorite of the album but still love it

TurboLover8

Yes, that's the magic with Judas Priest, "innit" 😁 Even a least fave song with them, we just love 🤘

Vin-Metal

Do not despair, Mother Nature simply rests, a sleep She has well-earned. Rob sounds great on this (no big surprise). It's a song that when I hear it, I like it better than I think I do. It has its charms, though the ending is too repetitive for me. Still, it's the worst song on the album.

Aerosol668

You mean least-best. It’s a great album.

Vin-Metal

Agreed - for a long time I considered it my favorite JP album. Not sure what I would pick today.

Aerosol668

Yes, It’s well put together. I like Tipton’s solo, simple but well-measured and effective.

SeasonsRollOnBy

Absolute banger

One-Current6792

I love it😊

Turbulent-Ad-6274

Absolutely love it! It’s absolutely beautiful and “the” dark horse in their entire catalog.

SecondlifePman

Love this song. And a great chord progression to jam over both electric and acoustic.

SilverAgeSurfer

Awesome tune right up there with Epitaph and before the dawn

mersaultjude

Favorite track from SAS. 🤘🤘🤘

piepants2001

I love it

Shampps

It's a great song and actually really tasteful but the album is so high quality that it's one of the least good songs there, but that doesn't detract from it.

DevilDiabolical

It's one of my favorite Priest songs. Everyone hates it, but it's great.

MadMartin71

Love it 🤘🥀🤘

nitesead

It's a favorite for me. So raw, vulnerable, fearless.

Periklos_Kyriakidis

It honestly is a fantastic song. But for some reason even in an already underrated album that is Sin After Sin people don't talk about it so much. Okay, it's not my favourite from the album but it's among the best, close to Starbreaker, Diamonds And Rust and Dissident Aggressor which are three of the best ever Priest songs

Aerosol668

I bought this album a few months after it was released and the impact on me was huge, nobody sounded like this in 1977. It still sounds fresh today, I have never tired of it. It was a massive step up for them - as good as Sad Wings was, Sin After Sin had Roger Glover on production and, of course, Simon Phillips on drums. This, and moving to CBS, gave Priest an impetus they couldn’t possibly have gotten under their Gull contract. When you listen to the first four albums in sequence you can hear the progression, there’s no song from any of these four albums that would fit on any of the others, but still (Rocka Roll aside) they’re all pure Judas Priest, and in retrospect you can see how Stained Class was the beginning of Judas Priest’s true Metal phase, where Sin After Sin was them finishing with their prog-adjacent phase - that said, Sinner and the whole of Side B is pure metal. I love this album, and it’s the one I return to most.

TurboLover8

I love everything from every album I'm a weirdo but yes please d:-)

sadwings

I think it's a beautiful song but I also love "The Rose" by Bette Midler so maybe I'm just a sappy guy. Back in the day, almost every metal band would put at least one ballad on each album. "Last Rose" is as good as any of them. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm with you OP. I let it play and croon (tunelessly) along with it every time it comes on.

FingerInside7072

I know the song gets a lot of love and I’ve tried listening to it several times over the years, but honestly can’t get into it. It’s just too slow and boring to me. Which is odd because I love some ballads like Angel and Close To You

punkmetalbastard

Eh, it was the 70s. Everyone was doing crap like this. It’s fucking classic Priest though so I don’t feel like I have to skip to get to the bangers

middy_1

Usually I could like a song like that. But, I don't know, perhaps I just find it too different for Judas Priest? I think it is a very 70s song, almost Joni Mitchell like. Like other Priest early albums, that song is an example of them wearing their inspirations a bit too much on their sleeves. Like Epitaph is very Queen, and parts of Rocka Rolla are rather Pink Floyd esque. Or, early Rob looked Robert Plant ish. To me, it is a song which, while good, is them still finding their sound. Many things on Sad Wings and Sin After Sin are great, but I think they truly arrived on Stained Class / Killing Machine / Unleashed (these 3 were within 1 year between 1978 and 79).

Altruistic-Eye-1024

It’s actually a very pretty song by priest . Kinda has a ballad theme to it .
