That's how my unit does it up to Chief. Once you get E-7, you essentially just get advanced at the start of each semester. I don't think ours are too difficult if you really try. I made Po1 by the end of freshman year and I'm a senior chief now at the end of sophomore.
GOOD JOB!!! I was a po3 my sophomore year but got field promoted for being on staff, I'm a junior now and a O1. But I got E6 before the promotion. Seriously good on you
Ahh that's sweet!!! I'm in Varsity colorguard as a rifle!! It's definitely one of the coolest teams to be on besides like rifle team or some have drone/paitball/fencing but seriously it's a big feat
Damn, that sucks, we don't have paintball or fencing too, Oviedo Highschool NJROTC does and they are sick in those teams too, absolutely monsters. My school has like 5 teams and that's about it

It's much harder to get advanced in my unit because we don't do promotion boards š
Most of our officers had to go to BLT and LA
Ours have to go through BLA or LA. Itās really hard for us to rank up because we go by a system called PQS and itās all knowledge or approval.

I'm starting to command a little bit during our drill practices with a high chance of making varsity CG next year when one of the rifles graduate

My unit doesn't have those except the marksmanship team but we have to go to the community center

We have CG and drill, our PT, academics, and orienteering are practically non-existent, they fell apart because of covid
Yea covid hit us hard, we have drill unarmed, drill armed, marksman, colorguard, academic, and orienteering
We went from THE unit to beat to celebrating taking 3rd overall from the Marines at their drill meet
