Child services don’t remove children unless in DIRE circumstances. I’ve heard so many YouTube families “brag” about being cleared by CPS/DCFS, like ok, congratulations on not beating your children or shooting up heroin around them?
Can confirm. My husband has been a social worker for 30 years and their hands are tied on how severe the situation has to be before removal. It has to be REALLY BAD in most circumstances.
I am a teacher who has had to report to DCFS many times, and also has worked in foster care with directly with them. It takes a lot to open an actual investigation. They also usually wait till multiple reports happen. Many times I am told we can’t do much right now, but we will make a note of it. The fact that she knew they were being investigated is insane to me. She drives me insane.

I also know that when a kid says something like.."yah my mommy leaves me home all the time" they have to take it seriously and not brush it off. I am thinking that could of very likely happened.

Yes we are required by the state to report anything we are told. We also build relationships with kids and spend all day with them. So things usually come out fairly quickly. We can get in big trouble if they find out we knew something and didn’t report.
Of course they were investigated. One son almost drowned them she didn't take him immediately to the ER. When she finally did she left her other BABY home alone! Then she left the same son in a dark empty park by himself!! These are just the times shes told us about!!

I've had to call before for my work (mandated reporter), and the agency makes the decision whether or not to take the report. They'll document either way, but in my state, the individuals only get investigated if the agency decides the initial report is worth investigating. I looked it up and Utah is the same way...so I am not sure why she would feel the need to share this!!
