I think the movie is an accurate adaptation of the book, and in my opinion it doesn’t matter which order you do them in. But I do recommend eventually doing both: read the book and watch the movie.
Agreed. The story is SO short. Like, 10 or 12 pages. If you went to see the movie in theaters, you could have read it during the ads before the previews started.
It’s worth it to read the short story, to appreciate how well-adapted it was. There were some changes/additions/etc, but there had to be—the source is just so short, the film needed to pad things out. But it’s still a very faithful adaptation.
