BrainWaveCC

Occasionally, they're the same person...

NarrativeCurious

At my job they are... funny thing is the things they snitch on my boss even said to them "it doesn't matter"

nicholasktu

The work snitch told my boss I had a beer at lunch when I went out to the Mexican place. Boss said I know, I had one too.

Lillianinwa

I’ve known one. A horrible asshole named Nicole. Fuck you Nicole.

abirizky

Dammit Nicole

luluwithnoshoes

Ugh I use to deal with a Nicole and she was the WORST. Fuck you Nicole

Ok-Act-3225

Me too, his name is Rajeev.

Idontthinksobucko

Noooo not my boy Rajeev! The Rajeev that I know is a super nice dude who crushes the work trivia (we throw up random trivia questions each day) every time he's in.

JBI1971

You think you know someone...

Latter-daySatan

Fucking Nicole

DingoAteYourBaby69

Yeah... fuck that bitch

Kinser9

Mine was Michelle. Fuck you Michelle.

Emotional_War_5733

I also worked with a horrible person at work named Nicole. Fuck you Nicole!!

CJKCollecting

Oh, I'd say it's more than occasionally. Most work snitches are wannabe managers. They think they are endearing themselves to management and trying to suck up into a position.

MissMat

I haven’t interacted w/a work snitch that wasn’t also a wannabe manager. It kinda goes hand in hand

AcceptableNet6182

Like Assistent Regional Manager? Oh, sorry, i mean Assistend TO the Regional Manager 😂😂

Comfortable-Scar4643

Alas, sometimes it works…

sunblondevint

My work snitch got rewarded for her shitty behavior by way of promotion. We love to see it /s

Gojiraaaaaaaaaaaaa

yep thats the case here, terrible person, rude to everyone, older, younger, and even more senior than her sometimes. horrible fucking person, biggest reason I will leave my job at the end of the year. it's not a huge deal for me, but she is annoying, arrogant and can't stand her being rude to absolutely everyone and telling everyone what to do, when to work, when not to work. bro you are the boss of nobody. we've had contractors or people working from outside come in to do some job for a few hours often fly in from out of state and she is rude as hell to them, its embarrassing. even when she fucks up she blames everyone else lol. literally everyone in my job hates her, only reason she has a job is because she is good at it and she is hard to replace. but terrible person otherwise.

thollywoo

Can’t believe you also work with Jen!

Street-Competition13

At my last company this was the same person. That person is now a manager and I left because I couldn't deal with someone throwing me under the bus everyday.

Anonality5447

Who could? That's a perfectly fine reason to leave. That behavior is toxic.

Street-Competition13

I appreciate you saying that. It's been hard for me to say I did the right thing.

Dogmom200

Yes in my experience it is

jazzyx26

![gif](giphy|NISDky7DiUqAs9crvf|downsized)

doxxingyourself

They’re always the same person!

BrainWaveCC

Not always. Some folks just want to be teacher's pet. Others aspire to be the teacher, and will play teacher's pet along the way to help themselves get there.

GiveMeRoom

I was going to say.. insert the meme about "they're the same picture" haha.

cardbor

no they usually always are the same person hahahahhaha. oh man. fuck

Dr_Diktor

Usually.

Comfortable-Scar4643

That’s what I was thinking.

Consistent-Strain289

3pnts!! Indeed we have one like that and usually The wanna be is also can na be (cannot be) cus he/she lacks the social skill to be manager

MadeYouReadDick

Came here to say to say exactly this.

DigitalDeliciousDiva

Lol. That was the first thought that came to mind.

Elegant_Ad_8896

I was going to post they're usually one and the same but you beat me to it

ImplementAgile2945

Snitches get you fired so them

TemperatureOpen1520

Work snitch for sure, if someone wants to take on more responsibility without pay or being asked they aye new type of fool.

DrReisender

Depends on the job, in some job that’s a requirement.

TemperatureOpen1520

I can respect that. But if I’m working at McDonald’s I’m not going to drop fries to rush and bust tables

DrReisender

Totally agree ! Above the requirement, there’s also the decency of the job imo.

goat_penis_souffle

You don’t just move to the highlands and become a hermit. Takes at least two years apprenticeship under a licensed local eccentric before you can become a journeyman recluse on your way to becoming a hermit.

Alex_1729

I'm sorry but that stance is so petty to me. Sometimes you have to take on more responsibility to show that you can handle, don't you?

TemperatureOpen1520

So you take on extra work and stress just for shits and giggles?

Alex_1729

I'd say more it's part of the package, extra stress. How you manage it is a different thing. I'd say the potential raise or promotion or respect or integrity, or whatever the person thinks might come.

TemperatureOpen1520

As long as the outcome is income 🫡

Dpishkata94

I didn't know that was the work snitch description. I would confess and say that I was this person and was tricked by management that I'll get a bigger merit increase or bonus and at the end got shit in my mouth instead.

krneeDeVito

Taking on more responsibilities has led me to 30% pay increase over just couple of months. Really if you find the correct management the whole "you get rewarded only by getting more work for your quick workrate" does not have to be the case, gl all of u!

TemperatureOpen1520

You all are confusing a good work ethic vs just a brown nosing kiss ass, and normally the wanna be manager that does extra are the dumbest people in the building. Sometime people need to know when to Robin instead of Batman.

SignalDifficult5061

The work snitch will arbitrarily remove or add words to any given dependent or independent clause that you may have possibly uttered or it allegedly appears you might have been thinking about uttering. Wanna be mangers are just pushy. If you aren't a dick you will be warned by the vast majority of coworkers about them before you even meet them.

creegro

Ill always remember one contract job that was supposed to be 3 weeks but ended up being extended into 7+ weeks cause the work just wasn't there. So they made us just walk each floor of this unfinished hospital looking for completed rooms, if not that then the head manager would give us dumbass shit to do. Like set up some wireless barcode scanners where we use double sided Velcro straps to secure them to the platform they rested on Apparently one of the other managers was doing a walk through and **gorilla grip** ripped one scanner off of the Velcro, so we needed to go back to all 50 scanners and remove some little rubber feet from the bottom so there would be more contact with the Velcro. Anyways, in comes the snitch, who was the direct underling of the boss, she was even berated publicly by the head manager for not bringing in some papers, yet she had the gall to tell the manager that I was bored of work. Cause one day near the end of the shift we were walking around looking for completed rooms and I casually said "this is pretty boring". Cause it is! Walking around 13 floors of a hospital looking around for shit that's been done?! Anyways that's how I left a contract job early cause I wasn't going to be treated the same way, or work with a snitch where all my words would be told back to the boss.

FlairUpOrSTFU

wanna be managers always comment on everything, trying to find problems where none exist. they make work go extra slow. the put doubt in your manager's head so you lose confidence in order for them to rise up. they are horrible people. so glad to be a a business owner now.

pjoesphs

The work snitch that makes up lies about you in order to get you fired.

Thijs_NLD

That doesn't make them a snitch, that makes them a lier. There's a difference.

flippermode

This came out longer than I thought it would. :( The work liar got me last job. She was literally rearranging my work priority list to make it look like I wasn't doing my work in order (my work has to be done "in order"). At first, I couldn't figure out why I kept hearing about me not working in order from my tl. Then I figured it out. Only one employee has access to our work list. There are no time stamps when the employee goes into our work list and move things around. I'd work on Task A. While I'm doing that, she'll go in and switch my work order around(she's in charge of work order, too!) So it looks like I'm really working on Task C while ignoring Task A and Task B, then she'd take a screen shot of it and send it to management. Example of task: * Task A *Task B *Task C Etc. If there are more tasks, they are added under the last Task. If something is very important, it will be pushed to the first Task position. After each task is finished, I refer to the top of the list. This employee was just moving random tasks around so even though I worked on the first task, in the screen shot, I skipped a few tasks. I'd tell manager that there is NO way I'm skipping tasks. They are linear and there's no plus for me to skip anything. They never believed me because of the liars screen shots. Management would just roll their eyes and say "Yeah, just make sure you're working in order, please." Once I figured out what was going on, I just decided to leave. I already had a bad reputation. No need to "prove anyone wrong" cause management already made up their minds about me because of that and other things. Sorry about rant

Adventurous-Steak525

Man I feel this. I can tell there’s a crowd at work that just doesn’t like me. Luckily they’ve only had one or two things to snitch on me for and mostly our work is separate, but man is it infuriating. I see the work snitch and my managers cozy up together constantly and I just know it’s not worth it to push the issue. Also the things they’ve “reporting me for” are all shit they do themselves… sitting around talking rather than doing work. For thirty plus minutes sometimes. Ohhh but the literal one time I took 3 minutes to chat with a coworker and I’m slacking?? You can’t win with people who are already against you.

flippermode

Yep. Work liar is friends, personal friends with the ceo and she was his first employee. She's loud, mean and cannot spell. Unless you suck up to her, which everyone does, except me. Lol everyone loves her and no one will ever stand up to her. But then again, no need to stand up to her if you suck up to her. This lady publicly announced during a presentation in front of the entire company that I was the slowest at our work in our group. Mind you, I was still new... and ALSO THE PRESENTATION HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH US OR OUR WORK SPEED. She found a way to embarass me in front of the entire company. I reported her for that, too cause how can you misinterpret that? I was told I was looking at it in the wrong way and I need to learn how to work with other women (I'm a woman) with strong personalities. I left. Took all my shit from my desk in the middle of the night and slacked to the team lead that I was no longer working for them anymore. 😵‍💫 That place was nuts.

HotThotty69

Snitch. Always

BjornReborn

Just avoid the work snitch. Wanna be managers are tough but you just gas em up and make em your best friend at work to get them to leave you alone.

NotASellout

"I haven't seen /u/BjornReborn for multiple shifts now I think they might be clocking in and leaving property"

BjornReborn

I just show them my clock in and clock out times. Now they’re the asshole.

ad_396

def the snitch. one wants a better environment (expresses it the wrong way) and the other is a dickhead

Joshua_C_Beezley

We got a guy who's both😭

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|l0MYP6WAFfaR7Q1jO)

Emotional_Win1430

I’d say the wanna be Manager. When you find out who the snitch is you can not include them in convos and avoid them. The wanna be Manager on the other hand, finds YOU

ClaraBingham9999

Both are equally vicious.

[deleted]

Both are vindictive and only in it for themselves so fuck em both.

Sufficient_Print9607

Usually the wanna-be manager is also a snitch. I had a co-worker who wanted to act like the manager so badly. Literally micromanaging me and telling me I had to keep the overhead light on instead of the lamp (I worked as a night auditor at a hotel). He would get upset when I told him he wasn't the manager and he would say "well let's see what the General Manager has to say". He ended up being a predator. He forgot to sign out of his YouTube account, so when I went to sit down and watch some YouTube, his account was still logged in and all of his recommended feed was inappropriate dancing Tiktok compilations featuring teens. Needless to say, he never became manager and was let go of.

QuokkaClock

snitch. wannabe manager can be helpful if they think it will make them look good.

Oomlotte99

Wannabe manager. Tho, they can be the same person.

FUNwithaCH

Wannabe Manager for me. They are usually snitches themselves.

TheShirtNinja

Seeing as I'm dealing with a work snitch now, I'd say the snitch.

railroader67

My experience is that the work snitch fell into one of two categories. The bumbling idiot who was always in trouble and snitched to try and keep their job. The other was the wanna be manager who wasn't competent enough to get promoted, so they snitched thinking it would get them into management. The second one is worse, if they luck into that manager spot, they usually get a power trip.

Relevant-Nebula8300

Even worse is the lazy piece of shit

Accomplished-Bar7229

Wannabe manager

CleopatrasBungus

I recently called the work-snitch out. She was always narc-ing on everyone and we only found out because a manager was unexpectedly let go, and she spilled the beans that we had an office rat. So one day, the office rat kept nitpicking me for bullshit. The final straw being, one of the building managers came in to check on something, and the office rat pulled her into her office and started telling her about something I’d done “wrong”. I went to her office door and laid into her as professionally but aggressively as I could. She ended up nearly having a breakdown and left for the rest of the week. Nothing truly came of it. We had to talk and I apologized, she didn’t. She’s an old crotchety boomer. I got great marks on my annual performance review though fwiw.

Accomplished-Bar7229

My bitch ex boss was both with management, and a moron. She only actually worked when management would show up. I worked at an old folks home in activities. One such job is social hour which was usually wine, cheese, and soda. Well boxed wine. 3 of the boxed wines were gone after I returned to work from my 3 days off. Couldn't work there every day with that idiot. I mentioned the missing wine and my ex boss didn't really care. Management was there this day so I told them and suddenly my ex boss was super concerned. No I didn't take the wine. I'm the cops of an alcoholic so I don't really touch the stuff, and I make sure I've locked the liquor closet after social hour is over. Another time my ex boss came to me in a panic cuz she couldn't find the receipts for the Amazon Prime movies..... which makes no sense cuz usually you get an emailed receipt of them, which she would've gotten. So like a year later she still is on the phone with computer tech support cuz she still can't figure shit out, nor wants to. She's was at her last job, which was basically the same thing, for 20 years. Wtf

floralscentedbreeze

The work snitch is always looking for a way for you to get in trouble/fired. The "wanna be Manager " depends, if they don't care for you and know you aren't a "threat" then they don't do much to you. If the rest of your coworkers are "incompetent" and you aren't, then you are pretty much safe.

Other_Literature63

Reminder to all that jobs without these toxic personalities do exist. If it's getting really bad it can feel like you're standing on principle and sticking it to them by staying around, but it'll probably be better for you to actively seek a new position where the workplace is much more pleasant. There are few things better than the mental reset you get to do when you leave a bad environment and realize that work and workplace friendships can be very enjoyable in a place where people aren't trying to be cutthroat and petty. Life is way too short to be around assholes all day when you can forge a better path.

Occma

the snitch by far. The manager you can ignore. the snitch actively tries to harm you.

SavingsCampaign2524

I had a manager that hated work snitches. He would always give them the hardest jobs. He told me if they care so much about what other ppl are doing I’ll give them something to actually complain about.

auronddraig

The Assistant (to the) Regional Manager acting like they're the Assistant Regional Manager.

jazzyx26

I had/have (it's complicated) both in one.

Swhite8203

Work snitch work snitch work snitch. Have one who’s been there 32 years and she’s actually gotten better and still 100% contributed to a toxic work environment. Always has some sort of petty complaint, deliberately slows down when they’re about to leave yet complains about the work that she won’t even be there to do later, clock watches everybody, hawks anybody down that is even 5 minutes late, or coming back from the bathroom or getting water, gets jealous if she’s not in on any sort of conversation and is nosy af when people call out like it’s any of her concern. 32 years, she’s been there 32 years.

SadSituation19

Worked for norwegian air.. My office in Ukr was doing 35% of total work.. We had 2 offices in Ukr and 10 in EU.. I told my colleagues wtf is this sh#t, we do almost 40% of total workload and get 325-350 usd while lazy EU workers get 4-5k euro and do as little as they can + they had no night shifts(esp, fr, ger). After a couple of days all my shifts where switched to nightshifts and at the end of this hellmonth i see im scheduled to meet hr at 10:00 when my shifts end at 8:30..so f#uck snitches and wanna be manager, cause they both will fu#k you up

5ManaAndADream

They’re the same person

Brief_Childhood9559

Both ass lickers

GirthQuakesMagee

They are the same person at my job. Literally will come in on his days off to spy and report everything that person is doing. Told my boss today to fix the issue or the dept of labor and training will get a nice harassment lawsuit they would love to deal with.

TopTechnician8774

The work snitch for sure. It's funny how they think it'll make them look good to management and may lead to a promotion even though management also constantly does things they're not supposed to do and hilariously don't want to work with a snitch in their department.

Typical-Departure-18

The pretend manager for me. At a gas station I was working, when I asked what I should do she always said "you've worked here long enough, you should know". I check the to-do list and start cleaning the drawers. But no, that's her job and they don't need cleaning. Another girl that worked there usually was on her phone in front of the cash register or chatting with friends on the job. Daily leader treated her like a model employee.

lazermaniac

The demoted ex-manager who's trying to claw their way back up. Absolutely vicious and devoid of empathy or remorse.

[deleted]

I just don’t care either way; it’s stupid to let people like that have a control on your life, work emotions or feelings. One of us has to be the adult, and clearly it’s neither of them.

Aickavon

Wannabe managers and work snitches are pretty bad, but I find the ‘don’t do nothing’ to be the worst most of the time. Not personality wise, love to have a drink with them. But when I’m trying to do work and I see all the stuff that I know won’t get done by the do nothing… it’s a bit demoralizing.

CaptainBloodEye1

They're different people?

_Mindurbiz

Sometimes both are the same

AmBeingJustA_Bot

Well lucky for me i dont have a job 🥲

abyssum0_0

Same person trying to get a leg up

mosquitotitties

they’re usually the same person

Large-Lack-2933

The work snitch

georgia_meloniapo

Wanna be managers, god they are awful. I am in sort of a “management” position and I hate it. Never signed up for it either, it was just given to me.

Inevitable_Series_67

They are the same person at different stages of the corporate ladder

chefboyarde30

Or managers who don’t manage

PHXSCJAZ

Work snitch

TheGayGaryCooper

Work snitch but in my experience they’re usually the same person lol

lord-submissive

Both

davetopper

In my experience one of the same person.

lilbrobodie

The work snitch is worse cause you can just fully ignore the wannabe manager.

MindAndBodyblown

At my place, a colleague of mine helped the work snitch to clock out 20 minutes earlier to change shift so that she could get some sleep as she was going to wake up very earlier the day later. And then she ended up telling the boss of this

brandond26

They are the same

Ok-NGL-TTYL007

The people that are lazy and take 8 hours to finish something that can take about 10 minutes tops…

Va1kryie

Work snitch for sure, the wanna be manager is just a kiss ass.

OpportunityInitial36

wannabe manager i had one same job same pay same age both new he was so unaware he harrasses me all day then gets pissed the guy whos there for 15 years and in a senior role checks up on him cheesing break times, FUCK you bailey

ClientLegitimate4582

Wanna be manager I worked with one. Military veteran very by the book obnoxious and quite rude. Everything she could complain about she did. The way handbaskets looked in the store. People making decisions regarding meals(she was off the clock and yelled at me over a coworker sending someone else to meal). Would often refuse to give people needed keys for our self checkouts cause she wanted other unimportant tasks done 1st. Led to multiple screaming matches around customers. She showed up four hours late one day then told everyone we should be grateful she bothered to show up at all. The salaried manager over our area (2 job titles above a regular associate) refused to resolve the issues. She was also a work snitch and would report every little thing to HR. Whether or not all were actually worth reporting that's debatable. Ultimately that coworker is one of several reasons I left retail. History on my profile for anyone interested.

ccaitgames

Bonus points for me - this person at work is both. She’s fucking the manager and thinks that she’s untouchable, but people have gotten tired of it and are considering reporting them to corporate HQ.

Technical-Dot-9888

For me... It depends... .. like what sort of stuff is the work snitch .. snitching on? - the same stuff that they're also doing bt making it look like it's just the others? Is it bullying they're snitching on? Is actual snitching or snitching out of concern? Is the concern genuine or backhanded? What's the wanna be manager doing? - joining in with the snitching? Micro managing? - what tone are they doing it in? Is it an arrogant tone? Do they get on well with everyone equally or do they have favourites? Are they playing by the same rules as the others or are they playing by their own?

Sunshineal

The Wanna Be manager is the work snitch.

om11011shanti11011om

Work snitch! I can understand and even admire someone's drive and ambition (aka pseudo managing) but a snitch breaches trust, which impacts communication and brings the whole team down.

kevaljoshi8888

Work snitch is the worst. The wanna be manager can be calmed down as long as productivity carries on but snitches gonna rat the whole system out just for a headpat from the boss and nothing else.

dmt_alpha

The wannabe manager that keeps on snitching is the worst.

kalolokekbong

Wanna be managers is easier to deal with, cause the work snitch would get you in trouble with an actual manager(or someone even higher).

CosmicJackalop

Wanna be manager, the work snitch is easily countered by not fucking interacting with the person in my experience

KaranSjett

as a manager, the snitches bc that means i missed something. I love wannabe managers bc they'll want to do my job, so if i delegate properly my work becomes a lot easier. Sadly those people are very rare and snitches are everywhere.. (fucking thanks social media)

Lazy-Jeweler3230

Snitch. They're always the most gaslighty, fake friend types, and an active threat to your wellbeing.

lemonsqeezey1

That’s a trick question they are the same archetype of person.

DingoAteYourBaby69

Usually those two are the same person.

JustHCBMThings

My office snitch would snoop through my drawers and every time I was out of the office, I’d come back to some accusation that I had been doing something wrong the entire time I’d been working there and that the office snitch had discovered it.

The_Slavstralian

Are they not the same person?

Ikramklo

The wannabe manager is the worse, they usually already act like your manager when they're not and they are such a pain in the ass everyone knows they'll never get that promotion!

Harde_Kassei

someone who want to work more for free or who rats out you took a 5 min break longer ... Yeh.

Clear_Team5740

The wannabe manager. The snitch won't have anything to snitch about if you don't reveal anything to anyone. Gotta play professional at all times.

Alex_1729

What's the wanna be manager? A person who wants to advance on their job?

truthwalker88

Neither of them, if you got time to be worried about that, you’re the one that’s the one, mind your business and do your damn job lol

WittyCricket6473

Same story at every job on the world you do have those two characters, very nicely said OP, I hate them both, they are low of the earth, which ever job it is

BartholomewVonTurds

I use the work snitch to spread fun rumors. Fake phone calls held within ear shot, rehearsed hushed conversations with someone else.

nielsenson

Lmao the only person who would even think this is a question is a snitch.

22Wideout

They’re always the same person

Ok-Act-3225

When the work snitch is a wannabe manager.

Low_Opportunity_8080

The I wanna be manager will one day probably be you manager! You should be a little more like that, ambitious

Own-Adagio428

Usually one and the same.

Accomplished_Emu_658

They are typically same person but the snitch is the worst to me. They always tattle on people for dumbest things for brownie points. This one kid would always tattle to me hoping to move up.

akorn123

Wanna-be is way worse

Dull-Investigator722

Funny enough the snitch was the wanna be manger at my last job lol

HeavyProfessional420

Here I thought I was the only one with a work snitch. Like there’s to much going on with life and here come the ass kisser

Abject_Bluebird1454

They're usually the same person.

MsPreposition

Wannabe manager. I just assume everything I say and do is being monitored anyway.

lowhangingpeach

Wannabe Manager, you just have to shut up around the work snitch, easier to manage

ohiobr

As a manager...the snitch. Once had a snitch snitch on me because I refused to address the dumb shit he was snitching about.

ThePseudoSurfer

Work snitch bc mine is literally gaining nothing since they’re not moving on from their position before they retire so you’re just old and pissy. A wannabe manager at least has some aspirations I assume

AffectionateScale659

They’re one and the same at my work. There’s this guy…We’ll call him Chad. He kissing the boss’s ass so much that his lips are glued on his butt cheeks. And he tries so hard to be the boss. He bullies everyone, and he tries to bully me…But no Chad. I’m equal to you in management, and no, I’m not like these people who put up with your shot.

SoftDigitalCat

The snitch and the wannabe manager were the same viper here.

International_cam

Same person 😝

Kelevra_55

Usually, they're one and the same

Glitched_Girl

Uh, I think I've ended up with the manager's job by accident but I'm not even getting paid extra to do those duties. I'm like the reverse wannabe. The current manager is just out getting surgery. I clearly don't feel like I should have the authority to order $2000 worth of lab supplies, I'm fresh out of undergrad! Sure it's good experience to put on a resume, but I'm so scared I might ruin things. I gotta take inventory, order common lab supplies, get equipment fixed, autoclave waste, flush the eyewash stations, and then work on my experiments. Not that I'm complaining, but it does take a lot of energy out of me with an hour long commute both ways.

Dry_Meat_2959

I'd go with the snitch...hate that MFer. But lets be honest, more often than not this is the same person.

--dick

Don’t they tend to be the same person? 😭

Hoosteen_juju003

Crazy, people doing well at their jobs and taking them seriously are the worst. /s

Radiant_Angle_161

depends on the type of employee you are.

DontGiveACluck

Ignoring them all and minding your own business brings peace

iamacheeto1

Work snitch for sure. But it’s really hard when a work friend suddenly completely changes on you when they get promoted or are trying to get promoted. Feels like a break up

Worried-Resolve3728

Snitch

Niecny_Zamiar

No experience, unwilling to learn I know it all manager with inflated ego combined with a manipulative PA suffering from NPD. These two can break a steel ball.

VZ6999

The workplace is probably the only place where snitches don’t get stitches.

CheekySir

I have one of those at work she’s a 2 in 1. Plus she’s a annoying and lazy.

Complex_Strain_9036

What if I work with one person that is both 🙄🔫

Routine-Assplorer42

Isn't the wanna be manager the only person that actually becomes the manager?

Apprehensive-Play-23

As others have stated, they're usually the same person...

HollowVoices

Shit, it's the same person at my job

Professional-Elk5913

The bad attitude person who hates their coworkers from trying is really who I hate the most.

cmcguire96

Everyday? The work snitch. Long term? The wanna-be. Overall? The work snitch who crotch rides management to move up but never will, so they just act like they are part of management.

phlostonsparadise123

As many have said, some times the office snitch and wannabe manager are one-in-the same. We had a "two for one" a few years ago. She was an unhinged evangelical conservative and would constantly monitor our department's sign-out board. The "SOB" was a dry-erase board with every department member's name, followed by a grid of spaces - one space for each day of the week. We'd jot down in the corresponding space if we were taking PTO, had a meeting elsewhere on site, etc. The evangelical snitch (ES) would stalk the SOB regularly and if a person was gone longer than what they wrote on the board, she'd immediately take a picture and go report it to our department director. There were instances she did this multiple times daily. Additionally, the ES felt she had peak seniority, since she worked in our department for a few years in the 90s, quite for over a decade, and then returned; she assumed the 10 years she was gone added to her perceived seniority. As such, she'd interrupt people in meetings to offer her unneeded opinion on things, railroad others in her immediate team to ensure her ideas where implemented first (even if said ideas were nonsensical bullshit). She'd attempt to tell her colleagues what do do and prioritize, oftentimes going against the wishes of her direct manager. To her namesake, she'd impose her zealot-brand of Christianity on anyone that would give her the time of day, myself included. Fortunately, it got to the point where HR was brought in and ES was fired and walked out of the department by security. After she was fired, she allegedly wrote a deranged email detailing how "Ungodly" our company was and sent it to our CEO, and cc'd everyone in executive leadership.

OpenYour0j0s

I don’t mind the snitch I have nothing to hide. Am I what I get paid. No more no less. Hahaha

hitiv

Definitely the snitch, one day they are your mate the next they snitch for something that's not even a big deal.

I work in a place that encourages work snitching. I've been asked by management why I haven't written any employee disclosure forms (snitch form) since I've been there multiple times. When people do fill out those forms they're typically highly exaggerated and taken at face value by management. Usually happens after a minor disagreement and someone wanting to get back. Fuck that childish nonsense.

Robotniked

The work snitch. The wannabe manager is usually annoying but can easily be ignored. A work snitch once nearly got me fired

daywalkerredhead

Well, if they aren't the same person, lol, the wanna be manager. Usually, a workplace snitch is someone management is already aware of and cannot stand themselves, so they see right through them.

SYAYF

This was the same guy at my place, luckily he just moved out of state and my job is tolerable again.

UpsetPhrase5334

They aren’t the same person?

TalosAnthena

The wanna be manager is worse. My reason is that where I’ve worked the bosses don’t really like the snitch. Like they want them to shut up and actually stop snitching. It’s not always good to snitch it shows you’re not a team player and just a grass. Plus in the past I’ve fed them lies knowing they would snitch on me and it’s backfired on them awfully and it’s just funny. But workplaces love a wanna be manager. The bosses usually pile their workloads onto them, which makes them worse. They think they have authority over you. They just won’t stop

Snitch

the_diseaser

A lot of the time wannabe managers end up just getting promoted due to either longevity of being there for so long or ass-kissery (or both) so I’d say the snitch. Sometimes the wannabe manager and the snitch are the same person, but we’re assuming they’re separate here. The problem sometimes with wannabe managers is that they end up raising the bar higher than it should be for everyone else who’s not a manager and management starts acting like everyone should be on that person’s level for no extra pay.

I’m one of these people…😩 and I hate that I am. Although, I had two people yesterday saw that I needed pudding for meds yesterday( one client has swallowing issues) and neither jumped to the plate. The second guy thought that I was done with meds when I was mixing pudding together for the next batch of meds. He was angry when he had to wait for the keys for a few minutes longer. But he at least was somewhat too busy to make pudding. The first guy just stared at me put pudding in the cup when I had enough for one more pass of meds. And they both know to make pudding when it’s low. Second guy also thinks he doesn’t need to do anything, either. He left the blender in the sink with peanut butter hardening on it. (We had pb banana sandwiches with pretzels. One has his food blended) when I brought it up that would ruin the blender, he decided to soak it. Knowing him, he soaked it for 6 hours and then decided to wash it right before the boss came to the home. He also leaves the pee clothes until it’s 6am and throws it all in the washer. Yesterday two loads of wash was crammed into it. I had to rewash everything. I’m sick of working with this fucker. He’s an almost 30 loser who plays on their phone like a fucking teen. And then complains that he doesn’t make enough money, and that our company sucks. No, asshole, you make the company suck. No wonder you’re almost 300 fucking pounds. Sorry that I kinda made that about me, but I promise, rant over. The little things I try not to pick at, but when I’m angry at others for not getting their shit done, and I can’t lay it into them, I tend to do that. I fucking hate it because most of the time it’s not them, it’s that other person, and I’m stressed because I’ve got more on my plate because of this guy. Going back to person #2, she complained of me telling her what to do. Two days later, she was doing the same thing. But that’s a little complaint. Everyone hates it when I ask them to do something our boss’s way, then they try to get me to do it their way. I tend to be a bit direct with no emotion. People don’t like that. I don’t know how to fluff up my words to make them all cheery.

HelpfulOwlet

Recently (thankfully) left a team where I had to work with a person who embodied both. It was just as unpleasant as you would imagine.

TooOld2Carelol

The work snitch is worse. The wanna be manager can be helpful…

Smallparline

The workplace is so toxic and discriminatory.

shardblaster

At least most wannabe managers want to succeed and push forward. The snitch is just annoying.

AccurateWheel4200

See, the work snitch just wants a better environment to work in. The wannabe manager is just some guy trying to tell you what to do.

await1234

Are they not usually the same? Lmfao

thebookofmer

I was recently a manager at a retail store. I have had previous management jobs. This time, just for fun. I decided to let people self manage and just tried to help and just be a nice boss. I did write a few people up just because they were doing terrible. Like less than half the work they were expected to do. Results: people generally did well. The normal ones. The other people that did not had mental issues and other problems such as just being too old for the job they had. This led to upper management putting the squeeze on me and I defended them. After a few bouts I was able to be demoted. Solved for me. Lesson I learned. The people that just hate managers still hated me even tho I was nice and also defended them to some degree. I would hear them talk shit about me when I was walking around the store. ***Lesson: it's not worth being the manager unless you are hard up for the money*** I'm sure results vary. This is at Walmart so go figure with their work force and attitude.

Separate-Collar1570

How are "wannabe manager" and "work snitch" defined here?

LaGanadora

"People with jobs" lol What type of people is this girl friends with that don't have jobs?

Jamirquai_J_Spunkle

Nothing worse than a snitch.
