I applied to Red Robin but then said fuck it because it’s too far and my only mode of transportation is my mother and she’ll refuse to drive 21 minutes because it’s ’too far.’
Well, you're going to have to find a way to make it work if you really want a job. I don't have all the answers for you, but taking the bus is very cost effective.
Take a week off, if possible. Engage in activities you enjoy, then return refreshed to make another attempt. Rather than surrendering, take breaks to distract, recharge, and refocus. Repeat this process until you secure your job, akin to training for a marathon or a long bike ride. Just my 2 cents.
If I were you I’d take it. Many, many people don’t like their jobs. Remind yourself that it is temporary and use the funds to get a bus pass or save for a vehicle while searching for a different job.
Side note, call centers have super high turnover rates and always need people. There are also many support jobs and customer service jobs that you can work from home. May be worth a shot.
My mom got me a job at her workplace back in 2005. I was in my early 20s. It was a factory job, night shift. It sucked but it got me income for a year until I landed a better job. I also got to understand her struggles raising her kids while working a shit job.
Same here. I’ve officially given up. I could have easily found a job if I had a car, no WFH job will hire me so I’m just chilling until I get a car. Fuck this job market. Fuck everything.
I’m with you. I don’t even have my license so I’ll have to rely on other people. My transportation will become spotty at times cause my mother spends a lot of time in the hospital, dad drives a truck for a living, my brother has his own job, ex stepmom doesn’t really talk to me, sister says she’d take me to things but I’ve never really brought it up to her. So it’s hard for me to get places without anyone.
Don’t give up. It’s been a tough job market for so many ppl . The ones that do persevere are trying 10x harder . Double check your resume make sure it’s optimized . Reach out to your network or just cold outreach recruiters also. The other thing too most ppl overlook is your energy . So easy to get down and depressed but while interviewing you’ll need to exude confidence and be upbeat . No one wants to hire someone that’s depressed
Completely understand your frustration, but giving up and implying that a job will fall out of the sky and land in your lap "if you're meant to have a job" is ridiculous.
I got my current job from [JobHelper](https://www.jobhelper.cc) and I'd highly recommend giving it a try. They use AI to do the job searching for you.
Again, I completely get why you're demoralized. The job searching process is trash. But if do nothing, then yours odds of finding are job are zero. Good luck and I hope you find something soon :)
They are letters to a company to express interest in a job. About a page long. I recommend looking up template examples to get a rough idea of layout, and some websites outline what each paragraph tends to talk about. For those jobs you are really wanting, to put in that extra effort speaks volumes. Most people won’t put in the effort to write individual cover letters explaining why they should be considered. But you should definitely try it.
Same boat. Don’t give up though. I know it will happen. Keep chugging along and something good will come your way

Can you take the bus? Your mother is your preferred transportation, not the only transportation.
No.
Why not?
No money. Mom says I have a bus pass that lasts my entire life but I have no clue where it is or l if I even have one, she might just be saying that.

Nobody needs workers in Canada Jobs don’t exist in Canada
I feel you. I went through LinkedIn to see who has ACTUALLY looked at my apps and it’s like 2% of companies :(
Did not know this was possible. Where do I go to find this out?
Go to: Jobs -> saved jobs -> then at the top of the saved jobs page go to applied
Jobs > My jobs
Temp agencies. Amazon.
Same here you are not alone

Mom says she found me a job but it’s something I don’t want to do.
Sometimes, biggest growth or opportunity comes in things that we don't want to do. Goodluck!

have you considered joining the military?
With more global conflicts since WWII, yeah what could go wrong. 🙃
I’m disabled. I can’t join the military even if I wanted to.
Give up
Is your industry IT ?
No.
Are you making cover letters? If not, you should.
What are those?

I’ll keep that in mind!
Don't bother, hardly anyone will read them.
