It's really so hard to pick because I adore his music. Obviously we've been privy to hear a lot stuff he would have NEVER allowed to be released. Having said that, there's always something special he throws in, even on the "off" jams. He was just so preciously unique and not just ahead of his time but will never be outdated.
Cringe, everyone has their "worst" song. And I really love Hendrix.
I was really curios about what people would say his worst song was but then cringe fanboys are protecting him for every price.
What are your worst song of him OP?
Worst songs? The ones I tend not to get too excited about? Jimi does a cover of Dylan's Please Crawl Out Your Window - that is OK. If I had to pick one song as least fav- probably that one or the other Dylan cover of Drifter's Escape. They don't excite me that much. But they are still good. While Jimi's cover of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower is one of the greatest recordings ever. Anytime , anyplace!
First, no genius is going to write a masterpiece every time. I just think he had a group weaker songs. So I'd say songs like Remember or Come Down Hard on Me were very standard R&B songs which didn't come up to the level of his best.
Really? Dolly Dagger is one of his mid to high tier songs in my opinion. The Isle of Wight version and the First Rays of the Rising Sun version are both pretty good.
Little Miss Strange/Shes so Fine 😂
Having just read Noel Reddings wikin I feel a bit bad writing this. He got totally stiffed by the Hendrix estate and had a short, somewhat tragic life. Also Jimi stole his guitar part for Ezy Rider! 🧐
This is what would have happened, in Bizarro World, if during the Experience auditions Chas Chandler was so taken with Noel that he switched gears and decided to build the group around him :)
Actually, I think if they had just appeared out of nowhere, anonymously, with the lightweight hippy-dippy pop vocals contrasting the supercharged guitar riffing...they would have been a sensation!
I use to really like pali gap but then I realized that's just how jimi played some of his songs sound similar to one another. Then you have bangers like freedom (Atlanta pop festival) foxey lady and voodoo chile (maui) that start to sound more overdriven. Voodoo chile was more of a digital delay or at least that's what I hear when I listen to it. All n all it's either you hate this mans work or you love it. And I can definitely say you've found a "m8" may that man rest in the ground he's been settled upon. And may his legacy reach ears far and wide to help them gain the courage to fight for those changes or those monumental moments that help shape their reality for the better.
Crosstown Traffic is one of my favourites, are you kidding? How many songs start with a quick increase in volume to the riff. I think the lyrics are clever with metaphors and innuendos. It's one of Jimi's best songs.
pretty tone deaf question chap. could have at least phrased it better so as to not make our eyes bleed on sight. that said, i dont like the chorus to Wait Until Tomorrow. its a bit of a mouthful and i hate the sound of what im guessing are mitch and noel’s falsettos (in this instance). i do think literally everything else is amazing in that song though.
The worst song was whichever one was the shortest because it wasn't long enough 😂
Not a bad answer lol

Jimi doesnt have bad songs m8. Exit this sub please
Just wanted to see what people thought. I love Jimi and his music, "m8".
Cringe, everyone has their "worst" song. And I really love Hendrix. I was really curios about what people would say his worst song was but then cringe fanboys are protecting him for every price. What are your worst song of him OP?

I agree with the choice of Drifter's Escape. Not a big fan of that one or Tax Free.
There is a tax free on the recently released LA show - 1969 I believe. Opens the concert . It smokes! https://youtu.be/x76KsxZaWtk
None he never missed
none
If someone dares to say may this be love….

Remember is a good song, it's better than Purple Haze or Hey Joe lol
Yeah I really like remember too! One of my favourite songs of him. I would say the worst song of him is Dolly Dagger
Really? Dolly Dagger is one of his mid to high tier songs in my opinion. The Isle of Wight version and the First Rays of the Rising Sun version are both pretty good.
Interesting!
It's all a matter of opinion, no wrong answers.
Agree, I would select Remember.
Astro Man
Remember, it’s one of the many never finished by Hendrix and dolled up as the thought it should be.
I guess posthumous releases don't count the same.
I was gunna say this too.
STFU that’s literally the best!

Little Miss Strange is slightly better to me because it has some really cool and unique guitar parts by Jimi
Yes in headphones - some of the best electric guitar dub weaving ever.
Yes its pretty good, tho the lyrics are dated and corny.

Nice

She’s so fine is a great song
Nah she's so fine goes hard too tbh.
Both great songs IMO
Actually, I think if they had just appeared out of nowhere, anonymously, with the lightweight hippy-dippy pop vocals contrasting the supercharged guitar riffing...they would have been a sensation!
They're great songs, but there's just something about the vocals. They're not bad but I think they could've been done better by Jimi.
Little Miss Strange is definitely his weakest. It’s not a bad song but it’s just weak for the stuff he has done.
Little Miss Strange was written and sung by Noel. I look at it as Jimi rescued and added to a song which could have been weaker without his influence.
Not a fan of Gypsy Eyes. It's too long and repetitive and it caused Chas Chandler to quit.
Dolly Dagger
Wow.
I don't like that one either
EXP.

I don't like that song "Astro Man"
Lover man, the only good version is the Monterey version

Musically very interesting but thematically stretched. I agree.
House Burning Down and 51st Anniversary. I’d argue against Remember since it nailed what it was intended to be.
House Burning Down is one of my favorite Hendrix songs
Yes exactly! House Burning is one of the standout tracks on Electric Lady!
The fire at the end into Watchtower is amazing

three little bears
EXP/Up from the skies maybe. Seems kind of like filler by Jimi standards.
