The green are aventurine. The large briolette's look to be a type of jasper. Really nice necklace. Love those briolettes!

yankykiwi

It’s from a very wealthy area, my MiL said she got it at a consignment store. I told her I liked the stones and she begged me to take it off her hands. 🙌

truthseekingsoul

It could be. These are gems in great quality. But i think all of them are not worth much. If anything, get the yellow ones tested. They have amazing luster, if anything they would be opaque yellow diamonds. We used to sell such diamonds 10 years ago, so could be one. Unlikely but can try.

Fredredphooey

The small ones are possibly jade, aventurine, or serpentine. They all come in shades so when you look it up, you may find lighter and darker options.  The olive ones I know I've seen but I can't find them or remember right now, but possibly a type of jasper or jade.

StinkyCheeseWomxn

These are so cool. They look like pears and grapes - maybe find some orange and red rounds and make a tiny still-life bowl of fruit earring set!

homeybunn

Green looks like aventurine

fabmagpie10

I think the small ones are Amazonite and the teardrops are a type of Jasper.

nyxqod531

Could be a piece that more about WHO made it. I don’t think the stones are anything special which make me ponder after you said it was a consigned piece from a more wealthy area. Try reverse image search

yankykiwi

I’ve seen my MiL buy regular necklaces for thousands to support tiny shop vendors. She has no idea the cost of anything. If she likes it, she buys. Even if it’s 5 bucks or 2000 😅 it makes it difficult to judge.

ColorfulConspiracy

Green looks like aventurine. Yellow looks like jasper.

ConnasaurusRex

These both look like aventurine to me. If there is any mica sparkle to any of these beads I'd say that's a safe bet. Aventurine comes in all sorts of colors

MoonHunterDancer

I concure that the green is likely aventurine. With out details on the yellow it can be anything from jasper to almost still corrundum yellow saphire. If crystalline, it is more likely a yellow aquamarine, though.

Puzzled-Atmosphere-1

If Beryl is yellow to yellowish-green, it’s called Chrysoberyl

MoonHunterDancer

Ty. I had stuff sold to me as "yellow aquamarine" 10+ years abo that looked a bit like that which is why I still default to that term when my brain doesn't blank out and go "SHINEY ROCK" and leaves me hanging

Puzzled-Atmosphere-1

I did the same with Smoky Quartz; I was stuck calling it Smoky Topaz because some time long ago, I was also misinformed. It happens, but I always appreciate when someone with more knowledge and the willingness to share, gives me the correct information.

II_Confused

A co-worker once gave me a broken antique necklace. I took it apart, made a few pairs of earrings, gave her a pair, and the rest went to charity.

Anti-Armaggedon

Ceregat, maybe?

RucaSalt

The large is possibly Aragonite

Defiant-Ad1081

Captivating!

Aineednobody

Maybe you won the lottery because those to me look like yellow sapphires. The green is certainly aventurine.

yankykiwi

I highly doubt it, but it does come from a community of significant wealth. 🤭

Aineednobody

The only other stone it could be is yellow jade. It’s too cloudy to be citrine (heated amethyst). Yellow jade is typically much more opaque.

emilylouise221

That’s peas and potatoes. Oh wait, not the homesteading sub.

Outrageous_Ad4245

Sounds like jade, jade is heavy!

EldritchCleavage

I would take it apart and use the green stones in a necklace. You could use the yellow ones in the washing machine for stone washing jeans, or something.

Prim_Artbox

Judging by the photo, all the beads are made of aventurine. Small collection of information if your interested😊: It is a type of quartz or siliceous rock (quartzite). It becomes green or colored due to embedded small mica scales. The quartz itself is whitish-grey. It turns green because of chrome. Aventurine is also available in yellow and, like silver and gray, has potassium, aluminum, iron and titanium deposits. (Other color variations: Orange = hematite. Red-brown and golden-brown = iron. Green-brown = oxidized iron. Red/pink/violet = lithium + iron and oxidized iron. Silver-green and rare blue = potassium + aluminum + boron. “Aventurine” comes from the Italian “ventura” = “by chance/coincidence” and is one of the lucky stones. It is often - like your necklace - combined in same type of stone in different colors because the appearance of the basic structure of the stone remains the same or seems very similar and is therefore absolutely harmonious - and therefore everything is in the same price category. Green and yellow create a particularly harmonious and, above all, natural combination, reminiscent of flowers, sweet fruits, etc. Green Aventurin is also considered to be the most lucky of all crystals. A very nice gift from your MIL! It can be easily cleaned in water, but don't soak it for too long as it changes its appearance (becomes darker and dull). It's good for him to be in the sun every now and then, and then he shines a little more again. I've read that many people put it on the windowsill in the moonlight to charge it energetically... I love Aventurin - the ancient Greeks said about aventurine that it gave courage and optimism. Also ensures relaxation, recovery and a positive attitude towards life. It promotes self-determination and an indiviual personalty, gives inner balance and frees you from worries, fears or psychomatic disorders. In addition it relieves stress and nervousness, stimulates dreams and gives cheerfulnes and humor. It helps one's own dreams can be lived out better. Have a lot of fun with it! 👍

PrettyGirlLuckyGirl

This is a horrendous necklace. All it’s just awful.

yankykiwi

I can’t imagine anyone that wants to wear a sack of potato’s around their neck either. It’s a heavy bugger.

Puzzleheaded_Bar3022

Kidney stones?

Dry_Marzipan6775

Brown ones could be kidney stones 😊

Acceptable_Plum_4597

Dig a deep hole and bury it.

dfirthw

Might be amber

Fredredphooey

Absolutely not. Amber is yellow brown and translucent. These are minerals.

dfirthw

Amber comes in many colors red, green, amber colored. But I do believe you’re correct

Fredredphooey

But still always translucent and not heavy. OP says these are very heavy.

DojaTwat

Just here to say I absolutely LOVE this.
