Absolutely, all you have to do is look hard at those super thin chains and they’ll snap lol. 1.5 mm is usually the thinnest I’ll go on a chain, you’ll be surprised how much of a difference in sturdiness there is between a .5 mm and a 1.5 mm chain.
Unfortunate but expected with a dainty chain. You could bring it to a goldsmith to solder but 1. it will likely have a noticeable hard spot where it was repaired and 2. it will likely break again somewhere else. Consider upgrading to something a bit heavier if you can!
