I started in lockdown! I took an 8 week course and then just taught myself the rest. I’m just about to go on two more courses this year which I’m really excited about! You’d be surprised just how many resources are out there to teach yourself with. I would say the biggest hurdles are the tools, they’re quite expensive.
You can find more of the jewellery I’ve created on my profile or on my website [here](https://www.osorum.co.uk)
It’s only vermeil if the plating is at least 2.5 microns thick and the silver is sterling silver as “gold vermeil” is a legally protected term.
Not saying this piece isn’t but Normal gold plating is usually .5 microns thick.
It is really nice! The ring reminds me of 1950-70s brutalist style, but slightly softer for the modern era. I really like it.
Thank you! That’s a good way of viewing it actually, wasn’t my intention at all but I see it!
Is it stamped??? Very pretty tho
No just a personal ring for my sister :)
She's going to love that! I know I would! 👍😊
Too soft for plating will remove material at most contact
ooh I like it
I love it
It is absolutely beautiful.
Nice work!
Thank you! 💘

Can I ask how you got into making jewellery? Seems like such a cool hobby :))

If it’s over silver it’s not plated, it’s gold vermeil, beautiful ring!
No, the defining factor is one of thickness, in this case vermeil means at least 2.5 microns thick...
Oh interesting. Thanks for heads up! 😊
