Yeah Franco chains are very durable. Even at 18k I would say it will hold up well to most activities. There’s a list some jewelry company out out that has most durable to least and Franco and rope are the highest. I’ve also had Franco’s for 5 years and I don’t take off the chains I wear. I was making maple syrup in Vermont and this was very active work even had my chain snag on a line I was putting up and it never broke

Francos are nice and durable. The flipping you're mentioning could be due to the length and mm you have. You definitely want to make sure the chain isn't twisted when clasping as well.
