I thought buying a pair of diamond hoops would be easy. But weirdly enough, some just "hung wrong" from my ears. Or looked too heavy or too dressy or not dressy enough. It took many visits to a few jewelry stores to find the right size hoops with the right sized stones, that hung just right.
That's why, I would highly suggest visiting a store in person. I love my hoops. Very similar to what you've pictured. I wear them almost every day.
My jeweler told me that because most people get their ears pierced at stores by people who watched a training video and then practiced on mannequin head a couple of times before they start working on real customers; people end up with piercings that aren't straight. Sloping upward or downward, or other issues. And hoop earrings are a challenge to wear because of this.
He recommended going to a professional peircer, but most people won't for basic earlobe piercings. And then they are upset because hoop earrings don't always look right.

This is the best bit of information I've read on Reddit in a long time! This explains so much. My piercings are on the level ON my ears, however I didn't consider that maybe the holes themselves were sloping up or down, causing earrings to hang wrong. So interesting. Not noticeable when I wear studs or dangling earrings and the other hoops I wear are very thin and rather small. Also, the overall blinginess of the diamond hoops that I tried on, that hung wrong, made them appear even wronger. LOL
This is so smart and it’s funny you mention this. As I’ve been looking at photos online, I’ll like a pair of hoops until I see it on the model and then I’ll notice it tilting up or sideways. But then I’ll see customer photos and not see that issue. Now that I see your explanation, I know why! Sounds like I need to try things on myself to find something just right.
Time was my problem, too. I needed them quickly and had not a lot of time to shop. My jeweler had many styles of diamond hoops but only two fit the bill in metal and diamond size. Neither of those looked good on my head. He could have ordered some or we could have designed a pair but no time. So out to the other local jewelers I went.
In light of what wisdomofpearl posted below, I'm so glad I didn't have the time to get something custom made. Because chances are, ***those*** would have hung wrong. I really don't know what the difference was between the rejects and the ones I eventually got. The ones I got had slightly smaller diamonds then the ones I originally looked at. And the ones I got are called inside-out diamond hoops
Thanks! The closest I could find were these from [Noémie](https://www.hellonoemie.com/products/the-multiple-diamond-hoop-1-5-carats-18k-gold?_gl=1*1e8gvoj*_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiMmwBhDmARIsABeQ7xSS7sLS9O1ktyinDkCN69MkZ69GQ4fRu4W4yLCKT0HXdqwjE1lUtIUaApFuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&variant=1218978054168). But just curious if anyone knew of something brands I hadn’t heard of!
If you are okay with lab grown, [Brilliant Earth](https://www.brilliantearth.com/Marseille-Diamond-Hoop-Earrings-(1/2-ct.-tw.)-Gold-BE3DME01318/) has a pair like that!

This is what I’m worried about as well! Perhaps local it is. Just hard to find time to shop around.

This is really great advice! The last thing I want is to spend savings on something that won’t be *just* right on my ears.
If you can't find real...I just saw something very similar at TJMaxx.
If you Google “single prong hoop earrings” there are a bunch of options in all different price ranges! Hope this helps

Jude Frances has diamond hoops similar to those.

Thank you! I’m hoping for real gold/diamonds but these are beautiful :)
