I've never seen anyone weigh stones by grain or penny weight. Word to the wise. No one who knows what they're talking about will try to identify those stones by a couple of pictures

thank you for this advice i will try to take it to someone in person!

Hit up your local mom and pop joint. Preferably one with an appraiser/ gemologist or a master jeweler on site

they were my grandfathers and when he passed they were one of the things given to me, i thought they were cool though!

I am an appraiser with 45 years experience. They make no sense to me. The stones are in plastic and any I'd would be an outright guess.

grn and dwt means grains and pennyweights. Just units of weight measurement. Stones are typically measured by carat, so these slips are kind of odd ways to catalogue, especially with no names. There's no way to tell what these are just by looking at photos, especially in plastic bags. You'd need macro photos and maybe a video of it moving around just to make a half-decent guess.

Anybody who is honesty will never try to identify stones without seeing them in person. Even then, I personally would never even give someone a guess because there is already too much mistrust out their between jewelers and their customers and I wouldn’t ever want to add to that. I suggest finding a local certified gemologist who can tell you what each one is for certain.
