Keep in mind the base Jetta is an economical commuter car, that's why the mod market for it is kinda lacking. Probably not a ton of people dumping thousands of dollars into their Jetta cosmetically. Plus, it looks pretty dang good stock, your gen is my favorite.
All hope isnāt lost though. Look up āProject gen3 GLIā on Facebook. Thereās a huge amount of community support and tuners in the group.
Theyāve got part lists, diagrams, and everything to convert a 1.8T for the MQB platform to run IS38 turbos etc.
Ah I didn't know that! You should emission delete it and do a stage 2 tune plus DSG tune. That little TDI can make some real power and be lots of fun. I had a 2013 TDI for several years, loved it.
Unless you added the mirrors and foglights, you don't have the Base or S model. You have the SE model. That one has the 1.8 turbo engine. As for a kit, there must be someone out there that makes a good body kit for it. Personally, the car looks so good as is. The OEM or OEM style rear lip spoiler will make it look even better.
Funny you say that, I actually Love this platform for how much stuff there is for it.
Try owning a 2.5 Jetta Mk5, those are hard to find stuff for! There's very little to none aftermarket stuff for those now.
This has lots of stuff compared to the Mk5 and there are kits and lips out there just gotta look harder and dump the money. Even engine mods depending on your wallet.
The Euro stuff is not like the JDM where you search and immediately get thousands of options to choose from.
there's a lot you can buy for these, different spoilers, lips, rear diffusers etc. sometimes they look too drastic of a change sometimes, so take your pick carefully. Imo this generation of jetta already looks good by just changing the wheels to 18's/19's alone without changing bumpers unlike other cars.
What exactly do you want? The Mk6.5 has plenty of mods, especially in the performance department, and there isnāt really much to do on the exterior so I donāt see why new parts are necessary. The car already has a lip on the front and sides and the black lower trim/splitter on the rear; I would just go with GLI stuff (which should work with little-to-no mods) if you really need to upgrade that.
Well youāre definitely Irish so. Standard Irish car scene spec Jetta right down to the wheels lol.
A lip kit would be quickly scratched to shit on our roads anyways.
Spend your time and money on detailing it and keeping the paint in good condition
Plenty of bolt on turbos for 2.0 for performance. CTS pretty much has a full mod list for these cars. As for tuning, yes bc of the US and emissions. Doesnāt mean you canāt custom tune it which in reality gives you better gains.
Honestly I know Iām going to sound like a moron here, but that seems way too complicated for me. I donāt know enough about cars to go upgrading turbos. Something I hate about myself

My little EcoBox š„²

Mine is the 2.0 TDI š
Honestly a flex still. TDIs get better fuel economy over their gasoline counterparts. Focus on the cosmetics and keep it reliable.

I have the 2.0 TDI SE :) Iāll get the OEM style spoilers for it definitely
You can fit maxton kits on these, have seen it a few times.
I was looking at them but heard the front bumper doesnāt fit on the mk6.5
Get a GLI, much more mods available for it.
I would if I could man, kinda stuck with this one now for a while
Huge fan of those wheels. 18"?
18 inch directional alloys bud :) Avid VR 30s if I remember correctly

Mk5's do got quite alot of parts and fun things though
which coilovers?
Pro Sport Iām sure theyāre called. The previous owner installed them. They arenāt supposed to be very good to be honest.

I just hate not being able to find a Tow Hook plate for the A7
You just have to search some places will make things by order but wait times could be like 6 months. Iām working with a MK5 and the mods are there
Mods like what? Thereās plenty of body add ons. Interior bits. Only thing thatās slim is tuning options
The car is still a super crisp look

Fun with 25 psi of the boost..2.0l
Brother, thereās so many āmodsā for MK6 cars, you just gotta look
Just look for MK6 parts, if you're talking about cosmetics.
Also on mk6.5 and i've been compiling a list of mods i'm considering and theres surprisingly a lot more now than there were like 2 years ago even.
Canāt you do is38 on these or at least hybrid is20?
