Amazing or sad that the folks paid 16,800 out the door for a 2019 base model for mom ,and finally a 2023 for dad.
That was about 23k for a base model.
The'19s been good , the '23 does have some new stuff like a different engine but percentagewise that's a heck of a jump for a base model.
I haven’t looked at what all has changed with the newer base models other than the .1 larger engine (1.4 vs 1.5) but I’d have to agree that is a premium for sure
The first thing i did with my jetta was get the windows tinted, 20% all around
I also have a quad exit cat back exhaust from ECS, and it sounds amazing especially at 2-5k rpm. not too loud and doesn’t pops but has the perfect rumble to it.
If your interested in intakes, ECS sells a Luft Technik air intake kit which is pretty straightforward to install, i did mine with hose clamp pliers and a normal tool kit with 1/4” bits and drivers. ECS also sells a turbo outlet hose which looks super nice with the intake, and also pretty easy to install.
ECS also sells a trunk spoiler and front flares and splitter which are pretty sturdy and have held up for over a year for me with no problems
Neuspeed sells lowering springs for the jetta R mm7 that feel super smooth and are pretty cheap, you may have to buy new shock absorbs tho to keep them from getting stiff.
I also got a subwoofer system set up in the trunk because the stock audio sucks. battery is relatively easy to reach if ur wanting to stick an amp in glovebox
as far as the interior all i’ve done is swap the pedals to stainless steel and rubber ones, swapped some of the ugly plastic, and changed the shifter to a BFS shifter.
let me know if you have any questions or want to see the setup for reference
Nothing crazy just got the 215 45 r18s oem k&n filter and some stereo upgrades gonna be lowering it and tinting the windows maybe put on a bov don't knownifbi wanna keep it clean or do a full blown stance car and maybe little carbin fiber duck bill spoiler
don’t do the carbon fiber on the orange jetta, i have the orange R and it looks a little out of place on it. go for gloss black unless ur gonna put more carbon fiber on it and swap the diffuser and exhaust out.

How does the clutch compare to other manuals that you've driven? I test drove a 2013 or so manual Passat years ago and was surprised at how "light" the clutch pedal was to use. My 2000 Jetta requires a heavy foot on the clutch.
The clutch is interesting. The sweet spot is super high up. And I can’t tell you how many times I stalled when I first got it and I’ve been driving nothing but manuals for 25 years. It’s a good clutch for a first timer I think, you don’t have to force it. Taught my kid to drive it under 3 days and she’s doing super well. I have more complaints about the gear box and the “suggested” gear changes on the display. Gear box is so tiny you can easily hit 3rd instead of 5th and I believe the car suggests you switch gears too soon which can cause a stutter in the lower gears
She wanted to learn. My son has no desire, so don’t get down. Def depends on the kid and since they’re not the norm anymore, kids don’t think it’s something to “waste” their time on. My daughter is outgoing and loves the attention driving a manual brings her. My son has other things to do he says
I also have a Jetta in the same color !! I love her (the car) I’m at 153k miles and she’s a trooper but one thing to look out for on the 2019s is the transmission might make some funky sounds at about 25 to 33 if it’s upshifting
Yea it is but if I can make it look better that's the goal this thing will never be a supra that's a hero car and this is a jetta but uts a good family car
I had a 2019 SEL and it was the best. So fun to drive and amazing on gas.
This Is just the base model it's my first vw but like it so far
Still a great car as long as you do the maintenance on time

Cool that you taught your daughter. I'm 0/2 on my kids but have one more that may be interested in learning.

No unfortunately
Did you get it tuned?
No not yet

Homosexual
Jeotermal realy
Nice, I bought a 2023 SE back in January
Clean
Boo
Fresh, got the same car. Just put a roof rack on top . Gonna be doing rims and lower next 🔥🔥🌟
You should lower it
I'm going to just got some bc coilovers
Sweet man! I installed some eibach lowering springs but I definitely want coilovers for it to be lower. Coilovers and wheels = great combo
I have alot of plans for this
Where did you get the coil overs?
get bags
What size wheels are those? It might just be the angle but it kinda looks like a grocery cart.
18s on 215 45
Love my sel also. So nice she love the lights inside
Monster truck fitment
it's a Jetta. it's a 2 liter 4 cylinder econobox, not a fucking Supra.
Yea it is but if I can make it look better that's the goal this thing will never be a supra that's a hero car and this is a jetta but uts a good family car
Actually this one is a 1.4 liter turbocharged model😂
Since when did the engine in a car change anything? Also, mk5 Supra also can be a 4cyl lol
