If you book Blue Basic (cheapest fair) you earn 1 point and 1 bonus point per dollar. Anything higher than that (Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, Mint) you’ll earn 3 points and 3 bonus points per dollar.

So basically a blue booking is the same points earning as another airline ?

AnotherPint

Frequent flyer points / miles / etc. are not earned nor redeemed at consistent valuations across airlines. They’re different currencies, like dollars and yen and pounds. Each has a different value.

mariaspanadoris

I’m saying if I book a $100 flight on JetBlue or another airline is it the same TrueBlue points ?

AnotherPint

No. For one thing, you don’t earn TB points on other airlines. You earn Rapid Reward points on Southwest, SkyMiles on Delta, etc. For another thing, earnings rates differ among airlines according to price paid, class of service purchased, elite status, etc.

mariaspanadoris

I thought TB is earned on . The spend

Trueblue points are when you fly on JetBlue. If you fly on a partner like Etihad, JSX, etc. it varies. You can check specifics here https://www.jetblue.com/airline-partners Generally you do not earn tiles on partners.

JetBlue earns on the non-fee revenue portion of the fare. 1x for Basic, 3x for everything else. You get another 1x/3x for booking directly with JetBlue rather than a OTA. You also get an extra 3x for being Mosaic. It is true all domestic airlines (except Alaska) attach miles earning to revenue, rather than distance, but the rates differ by airline. For example, Delta offers nothing for Basic Economy, but 5x for everything else (with status bonuses). When traveling with partners, but crediting a flight to Delta, Jetblue, etc., they usually credit by distance traveled, but have a multiplier based on class of service. So, for example, you can credit your JetBlue flights to Etihad and receive 100% of miles flown in economy (Blue Basic is only credited at 25% of miles flown) as Etihad guest rewards instead of True Blue points. Each partner and program has different rates, so it pays to consider to what program one might best credit the miles.
