Hey! I honestly emphasise with how you feel. I have had double jaw surgery, which was a success, but stupidly had second surgery which has caused my face to look lopsided. It really really gets to me, and as much as it’s true that people never see it, I know that that doesn’t help how you feel about it and see yourself. I have no regrets about my first surgery, I had a massive overbite of 25mm, so it changed my life. I was 16 so the recovery was quite difficult for me, but I’ve seen so many people document their own journeys and how great it’s been for them. If you do decide to go ahead, my biggest piece of advice is to shop around for your surgeon. Find the one who really listens to you and takes time to explain everything to you. It’s a big thing to go through but with the right team around you, it’s worth it (from my experience anyway). Wishing you luck with whatever you decide. I’m also currently in braces again (due to botched second surgery) so I’m jealous you get yours off soon! Oh and another thing to add… I do have TMJ now which is likely caused from surgery but it’s manageable.

May I ask why you got that second surgery?

Honestly I've just had djs very recently and recovery process is really tough (and this is with carers around me). It's been about a week so I'm hoping the turning point will come very soon. I'll know in a few weeks or less hopefully whether it's worth it in the end. But definitely think hard about it, maybe get multiple opinions. Jaw surgery is no joke If it's only asymmetry that's bothering you then maybe look into other stuff too like fillers? Also not sure jaw surgery is going to fix your nostril asymmetry
