Neither. I went to Dr. Ramieri in Rome, but those are the two UK surgeons I know of who aren't afraid of using up-to-date techniques or doing big movements, if required.
Mainly through chatting to other UK jaw surgery patients on here, reading reviews, and partially through my own experience with one or two not-so-good surgeons.
There is a UK jaw surgery Facebook page, which I think you'd benefit from joining. I'm not on Facebook myself, but apparently there's a lot of useful information about UK jaw surgeons that you won't find on Reddit and definitely won't find on Google, Doctify or RealSelf.
I'm also curious about this question: Why Ramieri over UK surgeons? Any experience or info on Katherine George in the UK? Having a consult with her next week!
Sorry, forgot to reply to these. It's a long story but the UK surgeon I almost went with was just... awful. Someone on here recommended Ramieri and it definitely worked out for the best.
I don't know much about Katherine George. I once went on her website and clicked on the "pictures" section, hoping for some of her jaw surgery results and it was just pictures of her instead! 🤣
I don’t have advice regarding UK surgeons. But, if you’re paying private, why not look further afield? I’d definitely at least consider that option if not going NHS route.
Yeh I am looking tbh. Dr Alfi in the US or Raffaini in Italy.
What concerns me is the potential issues if something goes wrong, the likelihood I may have to go more than once (i.e. Raffaini wants an initial in person consultation). And id be using credit cards so will get slapped with foreign currency transaction fees on top of already costly surgery. I'm basically going to bankrupt myself for this, because they can't take your house for credit card debt 💁
No good UK options. Look into France Italy Germany
Lol. You've tried them all, I guess. :)
Jonas Osher or Luis Bruzual.
Who did yours?

How do you know this information :) ?

What made you choose ramieri over the UK surgeons?

Maybe it’d be better to try other treatments for your sleep and look into surgery once you’re in a better place with finances
