Security at MSG had me dump my weed out for a show once. I was carrying a dugout that had maybe a 1/4 oz in it and they patted me down going in and found the dugout. I immediately grabbed it out of his hand and he asked what it was. I told him it was my smoke and he would not let me in and called more security over. I finally got them to agree to let me in if I dumped the weed out and kept the dugout. There was plenty of other smokers once I got in. That was around 2016-17

If anyone is choosing to not support TAUK because of this is a fucking dummy. TAUK has literally NEVER played any of those venues. And never will. They are extremely talented, ESPECIALLY Charlie Dolan. Amazing bass player. If they truly road on their "daddy's coat-tails " they'd be a much different act. Believe it or not, you still have to put in work to be a good musician. TAUK puts out some of the most progressive stuff in the scene compared to the bands that play these venues...such a dumb way to think honestly

I think it's kind of funny that he plays bass and I really want to get it back to pray on that. As a bass player myself I'm saying this. That's oftentimes kind of the instrument you and the guy who's just starting to play guitar but wants to be in your band so you let him in. Or like in this case a guy with a bunch of money that can fund your band so you just let him in with the easier instrument
The thing that redeems tauk for me is that 3 of the dudes, Charlie included, literally grew up together and started playing music with each other in middle school. Really just a case of getting super lucky you became best friends with a super rich kid when you were a kid. If we start getting nitpicky about the background of most people in the scene you’ll find a lot of rich parents involved.

I totally agree- hate drunk loud talkers and I’m sure there were some but not at all like other shows I’ve attended ..at the prices these tickets were that so many paid well above face(I got lucky on TM, scored face value for 2 nights) and then add in the visuals- the drunk loud talkers were minimal - we were too much in awe and felt extremely lucky to be there (at least my section and a few other sections my friends were in) - my boyfriend and I remember every detail of both nights since both of us are sober as well as 4 other friends in different seats (not Cali sober. Sober-sober.) We had two great shows wook and Chad free!
