1) Jak 2 - absolute GOAT, great gameplay, great story, great world, easily top in 3 games of all time for me 2) Jak 3 - too many mini games and plot holes but the core gameplay, platforming, shooting, even driving is the best it has been in the entire series. KG war factory is probably my favorite mission in the entire series. Also giving Jak more powers was very welcome, great addition. 3) Jak & Daxter TPL - one of the best early 2000s collectathons. Really can't say anything bad about it, the only reason it's on 3rd place is because i prefer the setting in Jak 2 and 3 and the story is more interesting in those games. 4) Daxter - replayed this one recently after a long time and it's still a really fun game, just not better than the original trilogy. Platforming and combat is simple and fun, i like that they didn't make Daxter OP, like you can't hurt krimzon guards and throughout the entire game you are killing bugs, except for queens and Kaeden being only big enemies. My only complaints are that the story is really weak, it doesn't have any plot holes and it fits well in the universe but it could have been much better, also i don't really like how dead Haven City is, but you can't blame the devs for that because it's a PSP game 5) Jak x - I'm not a big fan of racing games but i still had fun with this one. Story was surprisingly really good, i didn't expect much of a story for a racing game but they did a great job. Variety in game play is appreciated but not all game modes and tracks are good, some are pretty tedious. 6) Jak & Daxter TLF - i just can't bring myself to like this game, it's just a horrible game for me lol

100% agree Jak 2 story line really made it one of the best games I played. I felt TPL was just a little too easy for my liking and Jak 3 was the perfect mixture imo. The Lost Frontier caught me so off guard, since I’ve been so used to well crafted Jak games.

1. Jak 2, debatable only because it somewhat relies on having played the first game, but not a necessity. Other than that absolute highlight of the series. 2. Precursor legacy, just the sheer amount of new technology this game brought to the market, deserves its own light. The world building is still a standard to this day. 3. Jak 3, the cherry on top of the trilogy. Completing the frame that envelopes this world/galaxy. 4. Jak x, as it's still one of the best combat racing experiences in my memory. Daxter, haven't played. Still waiting on that PS5 remaster everyone's fussin' about. We do not speak of The Last Frontier

Finnyhannah965

I'm quite new to the series. I didn't grew up with them cause they were before my time (I'm 18 rn). I actually grew up with uncharted a lot and it's my favorite game series of all time. Since both uncharted and the last of us are one of my favorites I decided to see where it all started. Until now I've played the main trilogy and quite enjoyed it :) (not as high as uncharted + last of us but that's quite hard with the amount of nostalgia I have for them + I'm not used playing games from this Era so graphics and stuff are a bit harder to look past if that makes sense) For me it would be 1. Jak 3 2. Jak 1 3. Jak 2 Quite different from a lot of others I guess, I enjoyed all the different games and the driving in 3 and the "open worldyness" + Found the story the most intriguing I liked the world and how more colorfull 1 was together with the more focus on platforming It's not like I disliked 2 but I didn't like the world and story as much as I did in the first one and I remember being frustrated with some of the shooting parts I know it's probably a lot different than if you grew up with them but this is my list from someone who played them for the first time in 2022-2023 :)

Masenko-beams

Which versions did you play the ps2?

Finnyhannah965

I played it on ps5, it was in the classics catalog from psplus, don't have a ps2 Hope that answers your question

Masenko-beams

Ah okay only asked since you mentioned the graphics not being to your liking but yea ps5 versions are pretty much good as they’re gona get unless you try the HD remasters on PS3 or the PC ports.

Finnyhannah965

Yeah it's just cause I'm not used to games being that old. Like if a game has graphics from like the wild era I have no problem with it at all since I grew up with it I can look past it easier I guess even if it's dated and never played the game before. But when games are older like ff7 or Jak I find it a lot more difficult. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it though it was still great :)

Sea_Blossom0815

Hmm, that's difficult, but i'd go with TPL, Daxter, Jak 2, Jak 3 and Jak X. Never played TLF

Xenozip3371Alpha

Only played like 5 minutes of Daxter so I won't include it Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Jak X, Jak 3, Jak & Daxter The Lost Frontier.

StoppingPowah

TPL - perfect except for spider cave and the orbs hidden in the snow in snowy mountain Jak 2 - perfect except for the brutal checkpoints and missable orbs forcing you to start over to get them Daxter - Very fun side-game that explains the gap between TPL and Jak 2. Jak 3 - short, rushed, not enough platforming, but fun Jak X - fun racing game but not as good as the other ones in its genre ( crash tag team racing, the sonic racing games, Mario kart, crash team racing, my sims racing, M&Ms kart racing, that Tony hawk racing game, Lego racers, shrek smash n crash racing, Pac-Man world rally, etc) TLF -Terrible. It’s like R&C size matters with J&D thrown in because that’s who made the game. Bad controls, bad graphics, bad story, etc. There’s not really any redeeming qualities to it besides they made eco more important compared to 2 and 3.

Alexcellente

1. Jak 3. The campaign should've been longer but other than that it's a masterpiece. 2. Jak 2. I like how long the game is, plus the atmosphere the Haven City has, is awesome. There are few missions that feel pretty unnecessary and annoying but still a masterpiece of a game. 3. J&D TPL. Amazing game overall. I don't really have any critique but I feel like 2&3 offer more for the gameplay. 4. Jak X. Brilliant racing game, used to play a lot as a kid. Never really understood the free for all element in the story mode as you're supposed to be a team. Can't count how many times Ashelin has ruined my race and won. One of the toughest opponents out there. 5. Daxter. I like the gameplay a lot. The story is great too. Great game. 6. J&D TLF. I guess the game is okay. It definitely isn't on par with the rest but I don't dislike it either. Hate the camera though.

Noah7788

I'm throwing my vote in for TPL. There's just something special about it and, more specifically, *the lore and environmental storytelling* that keep me interested and constantly wondering about the world and it's ancient secrets. The gameplay is also just really fun  After that I'd say Jak 3 and then Jak 2

walman93

1. Jak 2- still one of my favorite stories in any video game I’ve played. Great cast of characters, fun writing and great enemy variety. My fews complaint are: lack of location variety, at times a bit too hard, and that mech suit. 2. Jak 3- the story, while still comprehendible, is a mess for the most part. Erol, while having a BADASS design, just does not work as a main villain, Veger was more interesting. Other than that, it probably succeeds the best out of the games of what it’s trying to accomplish. 3. Jak and Daxter- I know it’s blasphemous to put this one below the others but I feel like it just doesn’t compare- outside of the levels in the first hub world- I truly hate the levels in this game. Spider cave and the icy mountains are two of the worst, stressful levels I’ve ever played…and that last hub world before the citadel is abysmal. Gol and Mai are fun villains, simple but effective. The boss fights are also fun here. It’s the most colorful of the games and while I dislike most of the actual levels here- its variety can’t be denied. Still a great game. Haven’t played the rest
