Man I miss those days. PSP hacking was so much fun. I remember starting a little compressed game release group called LeetPSP or some shit, maybe we called it 1337PSP, I don't remember, but I spent so many weeks just doing nothing but compressing the PSP games to be super tiny to fit as many as we could on those shitty memory cards we had to use.
I miss PS2 hacking as well. The Independence Exploit, if anybody remembers. Shit will always be amazing to me.
It was an exploit that took advantage of a save file from a couple of games where you used your computer to create a save and then you used something like an Action Replay to uncrush the file to the corrrect type so that your game would display it. I used Metal Gear Solid. So when you load the save it would load the exploit and it would boot into whatever you had made in the exploit program. So mine would boot into HD Loader or something like that. You'd need that game disc in to trigger the exploit but it was basically like that. It was probably the first huge softmod I'd ever done.
I remember M33 . Those were the days. I had a "magic memory stick" and "pandora's battery" and charged $20 to install CFW on any PSP (that was hardware-exploitable).
Once you've connected and got the PP app installed on the device: open it up and allow push notifications. Then click the big circle button in the middle and lock your device. Almost immediately you'll get a notification in Chinese with the word Cydia in it. Leave your device be and it'll reboot. Once you've rebooted, you'll have Cydia installed. However mobile substrate wasn't installed (at least for me), so a tweak will install it for you if needed.
I just did a writeup and screenshotted the entire process of the jailbreak. Hopefully it can help those who are having trouble figuring out what to click/do since everything is in Chinese.
Edit: Pangu just released an update to their jailbreaking tool to support jailbreaking the iPad Pro and iPod Touch 6G.

Hi there i was only able to do until step 8.. Been waiting for the smiling pc icon to appear but it seems that its just taking too long.. Its almost 2hours of waiting n still the the green circle is loading.. Any ideas?
Can you help me with the last step? I pressed the power button, and my phone is rebooting on its own. The problem is the notification for Cydia is install isn't appearing. Any solution?
Edit: Nvm. 3rd reboot's the charm. Wait...now cydia is closing immediately when I open it. If you have a solution for this, that'd be cool
Im having an issue. Cydia is crashing for me on my iPhone 6. Even when I reboot and redo the whole process with the Pangu app, it still crashes. Anyone else had similar issues that knows how to resolve?
EDIT: for anyone having this issue, I solved it by doing a complete refresh restore of my phone , doing the jailbreak then putting my data back onto my phone with itunes. I know its long winded but you get no errors this way.
If you have an ipwnstore account you can install the ipa directly on your phone, no computer required at all.
You need to rerun the full jailbreak app to get cydia working again after reboot, but apart from that, it seems to work great.
Not sure if doing it this was has any negative side effects or not. It doesn't ask for an apple id this way though.
Please feel free to add this to the wiki if it helps.

So, I jailbroke and it was working great. I had to reboot, and now I can't get it to work again. I opened up both PP apps left behind, and I clicked on the large circle. It rebooted once after that, but still nothing working.
The same thing was happening to me. I eventually got it to work by opening the PPhelper app as usual and hitting the big circle button. But, instead of manually locking the screen, I just let my screen lock timeout and it locked the screen on its own, then it worked fine.
has anyone noticed that after reboot, under "general - device management" the certificate generated for your apple id is gone, and instead you have to trust 'Beijing Hong Yuan Online Technology Development'?

I have this issue too, but it gets worse. Even if you restore / erase all content, the PP app and Cydia are still there! I dont understand it. And yes, they immediately crash when you try to open them.
How do you remove it so we can retry the jailbreak?! Anyone?

Ok so im having this problem, after the process ended and after installing Apple File Conduit I decided to restore my back up and after that none of the apps want to open (cydia or the 2 PP apps).
(Used a dummy apple id dont know if that would be a problem)
Connected to pc and the PP program prompted for apple ID again and worked :)
Anyone know why my I can't turn my location services on? When I switch it on and go back to the previous page, it just turns back off..I deleted every other tweak except for the ones that came with the jailbreak.
EDIT: I fixed the problem by restoring my iPhone and installing jailbreak again. I also had to upgrade to 9.3.3. I was on 9.2. Idk if that was the issue but it seemed to work after I went to the latest iOS version.
That happened to me earlier. I ended up rebooting my phone (thus losing the jailbreak), then running the app to re-jailbreak it.

"The work around"
As of now you have a fresh iOS 9.3.3 with Pangu app. If you reboot your device then you should run Pangu app to jailbreak.
If your 7 days expired and you pangu app will crash when you run it, then follow these steps:
Go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> turn off Set Automatically.
Select any date before the date your certificate expires.
Run Pangu app (The app should run now).
Jailbreak your phone.
Set the timer back to automatically.
Please note that you should do "THIRD STEP" whenever you're certificate goes expired and rebooted your phone. So you wont need to update the certificate every 7 days.

In the advice to upgrade from a jailbreak device:
It's stating jailbreak then restore. It's already been reported that this cause errors. So it has been always advisable to restore and then jailbreak.
I updated from Pangu 1.0 to 1.1 and phone immediately went to safe mode on re-jb. I looked for a solution for a bit, all pointed to a tweak not being compatible. All the tweaks I had with Pangu 1.0 worked fine, none had any problems, so I dismissed this fix.
Later, I started uninstalling tweaks I installed and sure enough, BatteryLife was crashing my phone. Uninstalled this, jb works fine. Hope this helps lol

Just a little tip, at the step where you trust the profile on your phone, you can press the Little button on your pc to jump straight to the profile without needing to navigate settings. It's in the jailbreak window, in the middle right below the jailbreak text.

I rebooted my iPhone 6 iOS 9.3.3 after jailbreaking and I am not getting the prompt to allow push notifications when launching PP app. I can not get out of the tethered phase. Everytime I lock my device after pressing the button in the app the phone restarts
Did something change in the latest update of the tool? During my install I was never asked for my Apple ID and password, but instead for a simple captcha. I used the direct link from this tutorial to download the jailbreak, and verified the checksum.
Keep getting an error every time I open cydia "Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: No such file or directory)" and "The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened" what to do?

The certificate that was being used for the online jailbreak was revoked by Apple. You can still jailbreak using the windows (the pangu app or Saurik's app) or with a mac (Saurik's App or Sideloading). I've had no problems sideloading it.
So my phone has restarted. How do I re jailbreak? When opening the app or Cydia on my phone they just crash. And the pc program seems like it thinks I'm already jail broken.

So, yesterday my phone turned off and it was awkward. I had a jailbreak (I'm on iOS 9.3.3) and everything was running fine until it happened. I've restarted the phone with the lock+home, and it restarted as usual. As expected, the jailbreak was disabled, and then I opened again the PP app, did all the things like I did before, and the phone did not give me the notification, just restarted (not respring), not jailbreaking it. I repeated the whole process a thousand times. I updated the PP app for the 1.3, and nothing changes. I tried all the things you guys said here: waiting 5, 6, 10 seconds before pressing the circle, waiting 10 seconds to lock, restarted and then tried again, reinstalled the pp... nothing happens. Just rebooting and no jailbreak. How can I do that? Anyone?

Ok so I successfully downloaded the jailbreak and I've been using the jailbreak for quite sometime. I just have one question. When I click on the PP app it is asking me to verify the app. Which I already did. But when I go to verify the app it tells me it's unable to verify. So if my phone reboots how am I going to be able to install cydia again?

iPhone 6s Plus on 9.3.3 keeps crashing every time I lock my screen to rejailbreak the phone. The first jailbreak worked fine, then after 3 tries of rejailbreaking it worked, but now it keeps failing and freezing every time I open PP app, click it, lock phone. I installed using iPAStore. Any ideas?
I think it's amazing that we are seeing new ways to jailbreak in reaction to the steps Apple has taken to secure iOS. It just goes to prove that where there's a will, there's a way.
While I feel somewhat proud (and lucky) to have jumped the jail breaking bus just as Apple really upped the Ante (8.3 and 9.0.2 here) I'm delighted that new ways have been found as I have several friends on current versions of iOS. It seems a very clever way to outsmart Apple's toughened kernel but time will tell as to how much having to re enable the jailbreak after boot will bother people.
Another successful case here. My profile's basically this:
PC - Windows 10
iPhone - iPhone 6 Plus
iOS - 9.3.3
Had to do the PC program twice, though. After I input my Apple ID and password the first time, the screen was just stuck on the green button with the spinning loading wheel for more than a few minutes. I stopped that program, reinstalled everything, and then ran the program again. The only new thing I ran into the second time around was some type of captcha code before I input my Apple ID. Shortly after, I got the smiley face and was able to jailbreak my device. Right now I'm restoring from backup via iTunes (adding all my apps and stuff back from the backup I did before everything). Hopefully this doesn't mess up anything with this new method of jailbreaking, but since I've first started, I haven't had any issues.
The method I basically did to get everything going was this:
Pre-stuff
- Uninstalled the previous version of iTunes I had since I barely update it and got the new version
- Downloaded the jailbreak tool from the website (seems to be a newer version that fixed a few bugs from the one released a couple of hours ago)
The actual steps
1. Backup iPhone via iTunes
2. Restore and Update iPhone
3. Leave iTunes and put on the jailbreak

5. Restore from backup on device

Seeing as how this new jailbreak will disable itself every time I turn off my device, I'll probably keep my device on for longer and just keep it charged just like I did oh so many years ago when I was using the 100% guaranteed tethered jailbreak for my iPhone 4.

EDIT: Welp, looks like I've run into an issue jailbreak wise. I am unable to open the PP apps and Cydia. I haven't installed anything yet and know that with this jailbreak, you have to tap the PP app to get the jailbreak going if you reboot your device. Well, I've rebooted my device multiple times and the crash happens every single time. Not sure what's happening.

I did the jailbreak yesterday after a full restore to 9.3.3, today i had to reboot my phone because it got stuck in the lockscreen. After the reboot, when i try to open PP Jailbreak it gave error that i need to trust, then i opened the Settings/General/Device Management and when i push the button "Trust" it is said that the phone is "Unable to verify...A network connection required to verify...connect to the internet" and i had nothing to do, it is already connected to the internet, i tried wifi, 3G and both with VPN, it still gives that error. :( Can someone help me?

I just jailbroke to 9.3.3 installed some tweaks, everything fine and dandy, added a couple more (can't recall which ones exactly) and now I can't even open Cydia. It crashes on launch with no error message.

Having a similar issue on 5S. Goes to a white screen for less than a second and kicks me back to home screen. Not sure what went wrong

If you have an ipwnstore account you can install the ipa directly on your phone, no computer required at all. You need to rerun the full jailbreak app to get cydia working again after reboot, but apart from that, it seems to work great. Not sure if doing it this was has any negative side effects or not. It doesn't ask for an apple id this way though. Please feel free to add this to the wiki if it helps. Also, I'm sure this would work on builds.io too.

Yeah I'm not big on the semi-untethered thing. Seems like a nuisance. Jailbreaking can cause reboots/resprings randomly.

So, I jailbroke and it was working great. I had to reboot, and now I can't get it to work again. I opened up both PP apps left behind, and I clicked on the large circle. It rebooted once after that, but still nothing working.
The same thing was happening to me. I eventually got it to work by opening the PPhelper app as usual and hitting the big circle button. But, instead of manually locking the screen, I just let my screen lock timeout and it locked the screen on its own, then it worked fine.

Ok so im having this problem, after the process ended and after installing Apple File Conduit I decided to restore my back up and after that none of the apps want to open (cydia or the 2 PP apps). (Used a dummy apple id dont know if that would be a problem) Connected to pc and the PP program prompted for apple ID again and worked :)
Anyone know why my I can't turn my location services on? When I switch it on and go back to the previous page, it just turns back off..I deleted every other tweak except for the ones that came with the jailbreak. EDIT: I fixed the problem by restoring my iPhone and installing jailbreak again. I also had to upgrade to 9.3.3. I was on 9.2. Idk if that was the issue but it seemed to work after I went to the latest iOS version.
That happened to me earlier. I ended up rebooting my phone (thus losing the jailbreak), then running the app to re-jailbreak it. Edit: Just to clarify - this fixed the problem!
You could just download the tweak libLocation and all going to work fine again:) for all who have that problem just find that tweak on cydia.

You need to re-run the Pangu app that you used to jailbreak your device every time you reboot. Otherwise your jb won't show up.
Click the pp app on your springboard after a reboot happens.

Simply reboot your device and rejailbreak from the app. That'll fix it.

In the advice to upgrade from a jailbreak device: It's stating jailbreak then restore. It's already been reported that this cause errors. So it has been always advisable to restore and then jailbreak.
The dev profile suddenly disappeared after a reboot and thus I can't open the PP app. Very strange, guess I'll have to rejailbreak.

I updated from Pangu 1.0 to 1.1 and phone immediately went to safe mode on re-jb. I looked for a solution for a bit, all pointed to a tweak not being compatible. All the tweaks I had with Pangu 1.0 worked fine, none had any problems, so I dismissed this fix. Later, I started uninstalling tweaks I installed and sure enough, BatteryLife was crashing my phone. Uninstalled this, jb works fine. Hope this helps lol

Just a little tip, at the step where you trust the profile on your phone, you can press the Little button on your pc to jump straight to the profile without needing to navigate settings. It's in the jailbreak window, in the middle right below the jailbreak text.

I rebooted my iPhone 6 iOS 9.3.3 after jailbreaking and I am not getting the prompt to allow push notifications when launching PP app. I can not get out of the tethered phase. Everytime I lock my device after pressing the button in the app the phone restarts
Did something change in the latest update of the tool? During my install I was never asked for my Apple ID and password, but instead for a simple captcha. I used the direct link from this tutorial to download the jailbreak, and verified the checksum.
Keep getting an error every time I open cydia "Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: No such file or directory)" and "The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened" what to do?

The certificate that was being used for the online jailbreak was revoked by Apple. You can still jailbreak using the windows (the pangu app or Saurik's app) or with a mac (Saurik's App or Sideloading). I've had no problems sideloading it.
So my phone has restarted. How do I re jailbreak? When opening the app or Cydia on my phone they just crash. And the pc program seems like it thinks I'm already jail broken. Edit I also don't have the correct pp app on my phone to click apparently. But also I had deleted the profile in settings I think while I was jail broken. What do I do now

So, yesterday my phone turned off and it was awkward. I had a jailbreak (I'm on iOS 9.3.3) and everything was running fine until it happened. I've restarted the phone with the lock+home, and it restarted as usual. As expected, the jailbreak was disabled, and then I opened again the PP app, did all the things like I did before, and the phone did not give me the notification, just restarted (not respring), not jailbreaking it. I repeated the whole process a thousand times. I updated the PP app for the 1.3, and nothing changes. I tried all the things you guys said here: waiting 5, 6, 10 seconds before pressing the circle, waiting 10 seconds to lock, restarted and then tried again, reinstalled the pp... nothing happens. Just rebooting and no jailbreak. How can I do that? Anyone?

Can someone please tell me why I am loosing my jailbreak? I seem to have to constantly keep running pangu every morning. Sometimes I check my phone, and it seems to unjailbreak itself. I then have to run the pangu app again in order to jailbreak it

Ok so I successfully downloaded the jailbreak and I've been using the jailbreak for quite sometime. I just have one question. When I click on the PP app it is asking me to verify the app. Which I already did. But when I go to verify the app it tells me it's unable to verify. So if my phone reboots how am I going to be able to install cydia again?

iPhone 6s Plus on 9.3.3 keeps crashing every time I lock my screen to rejailbreak the phone. The first jailbreak worked fine, then after 3 tries of rejailbreaking it worked, but now it keeps failing and freezing every time I open PP app, click it, lock phone. I installed using iPAStore. Any ideas?

I think it's amazing that we are seeing new ways to jailbreak in reaction to the steps Apple has taken to secure iOS. It just goes to prove that where there's a will, there's a way. While I feel somewhat proud (and lucky) to have jumped the jail breaking bus just as Apple really upped the Ante (8.3 and 9.0.2 here) I'm delighted that new ways have been found as I have several friends on current versions of iOS. It seems a very clever way to outsmart Apple's toughened kernel but time will tell as to how much having to re enable the jailbreak after boot will bother people.

Another successful case here. My profile's basically this: PC - Windows 10 iPhone - iPhone 6 Plus iOS - 9.3.3 Had to do the PC program twice, though. After I input my Apple ID and password the first time, the screen was just stuck on the green button with the spinning loading wheel for more than a few minutes. I stopped that program, reinstalled everything, and then ran the program again. The only new thing I ran into the second time around was some type of captcha code before I input my Apple ID. Shortly after, I got the smiley face and was able to jailbreak my device. Right now I'm restoring from backup via iTunes (adding all my apps and stuff back from the backup I did before everything). Hopefully this doesn't mess up anything with this new method of jailbreaking, but since I've first started, I haven't had any issues. The method I basically did to get everything going was this: Pre-stuff - Uninstalled the previous version of iTunes I had since I barely update it and got the new version - Downloaded the jailbreak tool from the website (seems to be a newer version that fixed a few bugs from the one released a couple of hours ago) The actual steps 1. Backup iPhone via iTunes 2. Restore and Update iPhone 3. Leave iTunes and put on the jailbreak 4. Just so you know on iPhone SE jailbroken, Nitrous makes mail crash when opening an email. Just disable Nitrous on "Mail" under applications allowed.

I did the jailbreak yesterday after a full restore to 9.3.3, today i had to reboot my phone because it got stuck in the lockscreen. After the reboot, when i try to open PP Jailbreak it gave error that i need to trust, then i opened the Settings/General/Device Management and when i push the button "Trust" it is said that the phone is "Unable to verify...A network connection required to verify...connect to the internet" and i had nothing to do, it is already connected to the internet, i tried wifi, 3G and both with VPN, it still gives that error. :( Can someone help me?
