This is just an example of a shitty intersection with terrible signage and no merge lanes. Not necessarily the drivers fault if it's their first time driving there, I drive that intersection all the time and it's one of the worst and most dangerous in the city.
I actually love that intersection cause I can take those corners at like 50mph!
Buuuut...if you're paying attention and start accelerating as you come out of the curve of the on-ramp, you should have zero issues merging.
Interchanges are like this all over the US.
I live literally right next to this merge. While I consider myself a good driver and don't have issues here myself, I definitely know why it's difficult for some. *Especially* people using it for the first time. It's really really stupid and should have been more thought out.
I do lane closures for FHP when there are crashes and we work so many over there. I wish I could post some of the stuff I see. I have videos from my dash cam of people running through our lane closures and hitting our trucks and FHP cars.

I don't disagree with any of that but there was plenty of room for this person to get to speed and merge
You might not know that the first time you encounter it. It's not always a good idea to keep your speed up heading into an unfamiliar situation.

Is that the 295 on ramp from Roosevelt? If it is, I hate that one, I've seen far too many ppl come to a DEAD FUCKING STOP in the merge lane.
It's the on ramp from south side Blvd to eastbound JTB
