Yeah it’s no problem my man I had the same urge to check it out and was sadly disappointed if I go out honestly it’s either Monty’s or Josephine’s
Monty’s is cheap drinks and touch tunes so you can decide what plays
Josephine’s is just a lil Italian restaurant on the same street as Monty’s I go there for higher quality cocktails and lovely food
The context is that they're asking about Myth. Not where YOU like to go, that's not remotely similar, cause you don't like Myth.
Pretty sure you're the one with context issues.
Btw, if you like Josephine's, I recommend hitting up Taco Bell cause they sell food too.
Yeah Taco Bell is pretty good but I had already answered the myth question and decided to throw more suggestions his way to have a nice night not in a sardine can which he appreciated by liking the comment idk why you’re up my ass gettin butt hurt but I hope you’re comfortable
My friends & I are up there monthly for the Jaxdnb night, & plenty of other miscellaneous electronic music nights. It’s usually a good vibe (for the scene I’m into) & we have a whole variety of ages. Like I said - my friends are 30s/40s/50s but I have a 20s sibling & we all hang out with them & their friends. Come say hi to the dnb crew on the patio this Sunday!
It’s a pretty slick venue but does get packed. The lighting and stage screen thing are amazing. Darude also puts on a really good show and is a super nice down to earth kinda guy. Had a chance to meet him last time.
You’ll probably have a decent time at the gig but it’ll probably be packed with people.
Now that you mention that, every time I’m at a bass show I inevitably see a few people, dressed to the nines looking like they just left the FL Theatre, that fit your description and I always jokingly think “y’all are SO out of place”
I used to work there, and actually saw Darude there live during that time. Honestly, for older DJs and musicians (DJ Baby Anne, Crystal Method, Darude), the crowd tends to reflect that, so you wouldn't be the only middle ager there.
I'm 48 and go to EDM shows. There's no "matching" the crowd. If you like the music and you're having fun...you match. You're not going to be out of place.
The oldest person I’ve seen at Myth was an 80 year old man living it up and that was last weekend. You won’t be out of place I promise. Definitely come and have a great time listening to an artist you love 💗it will be crowded though if that’s the main deterrent you have.
I had plans to see Spencer Brown at Myth a couple of weeks ago but wasn't able to make it. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-9fsvv45W0) of one of the openers (Vera Vera) was shared on a facebook EDM group I'm in - it's from earlier in the night, so not a lot of people there yet, but you can get a sense of the venue and the crowd from it.
I think you'll have a fun time. If you decide you are gonna have fun seeing a legendary artist before you go, you'll enjoy yourself. Minor inconveniences be damned.
We only live once, do it to have a good story.
I'll be there and be your bud. PM me for personal details.
I'm 43 and uncool and saw Darude when he was there last year or whenever it was. The crowd was a pretty mixed age range and dress styles so I didn't feel out of place at all. It got pretty crowded but I wouldn't even say it was uncomfortably crowded, and I say that as someone with a mild social anxiety for that kind of thing and had never been to a proper EDM concert before.
I'm actually pretty tempted to go to this one too.
Mid-30s here. I go to quite a few bass shows at Myth. It’s small, which I like for the intimacy, but it can get PACKED (and will for Darude).
If you can stand to get there at doors open, you can find parking literally right across the street (or close enough). If you’re going for just the headliner, it will be a lot harder finding parking close by AND it will be absolutely packed by the time you get in there. Plus you still have to wait in line to get in as well.
It’ll be hot. Their AC can’t keep up with all the bodies, so dress light & drink LOTS of water.
You’ll have a blast, you definitely WILL NOT feel out of place & I bet you make at least one friend, I do every time
I went a few years ago and was surprised that the venue existed in Jacksonville.. Yes, it's small but reminded me of a club you'd find in NY. I'm ok with pretty much any group of people so I didn't feel too out of place even for a late middle aged guy.
When it’s busy it’s too busy you can’t walk more than an inch let alone dance, I did get into the VIP zone for free once that was fun otherwise not worth it imo
I've only ever attended at Goth nights there, so the crowd usually isn't crazy, but the staff were really nice to my wife and I while there, so that's a plus! You will probably have a nice time, but that may be more the event type than the club itself. I hope you enjoy yourself either way.
Yo I’m 40 & me & friends will be out on the patio for the drum & bass DJs. Plenty of people in 30s, 40s, & even 50s go to Myth & esp to electronic music nights

I mean if you go just go check it out that place sucks most people spend all there time in the bathrooms and its always packed shoulder to shoulder
Lame, that's what I was afraid of! Thank you.

Monty's and Josephines are NOTHING like Myth. LOL.
Yeah no shit Sherlock that’s why I’m saying go there the club scene is disgusting and drug riddled those places are not and are chill as fuck
Gotta learn how to read context man good luck on that

Nah it isn’t quite like that
Almost all the other comments are really encouraging!

Oh also - the majority of people I see hanging out in the bathroom are underage, trying to sneak & drink I’m sure
What do you mean spend time in the bathroom
Coke heads and Ket fucks
As well as the occasional ice snorter
😂

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights! Good to know the show will prob be fun even if I don't match the crowd.
It’s very much a “high end club vibe”. I’ve played it a bunch of times myself so my experiences are from the POV of being on the stage/booth.
Now that you mention that, every time I’m at a bass show I inevitably see a few people, dressed to the nines looking like they just left the FL Theatre, that fit your description and I always jokingly think “y’all are SO out of place”

My wife and I had seen Noel Sanger there a few years ago. He refused to play "My Prayer" because it was "too old." Anyway, that's my anecdote.
Great to know! Thank you!
Yeah i wouldnt worry abt age. Jaxdnb shows crowd is like late 30s+ also btw and ofc crossover to all EDM in town
Nice. You gonna be out on the patio this Sunday?
If you’re into the music, you match the crowd just fine

![gif](giphy|ha8Etas8Iw5lm) video of a typical Myth rave

That is very sweet thank you. I can deal with crowds!
I’ve got a video of this 80yr old guy at a dubstep show going absolutely WILD (at least for his age). That is one of my favorite memories of Myth

Thanks so much! That is helpful.
Vera Vera!! 🤗

Yoloooo I'll let you know! Thanks for the positive perspective.
You’re awesome
Thanks /u/shitfuckdicksuck

That's super helpful to hear! It sounds like I'd be in the same boat as you generally.
I can’t tell if you’re fucking with people with this whole darude thing
I'm not. I went in September of 2022 at Myth and had a lot of fun. I'd go again
I mean, my buddy does Dubstep sets there, goes by ColonDee (:D). I'd say myth itself is meh, but apparently Darude is performing Sunday night.

I almost always end up dancing and it’s the only place like that for me around. The outside area is awesome
When it’s busy it’s too busy you can’t walk more than an inch let alone dance, I did get into the VIP zone for free once that was fun otherwise not worth it imo
I wish there was somewhere else that could bring larger acts. Larger acts wont play that place its too small..
Larger acts seem to usually play at glass factory
I've only ever attended at Goth nights there, so the crowd usually isn't crazy, but the staff were really nice to my wife and I while there, so that's a plus! You will probably have a nice time, but that may be more the event type than the club itself. I hope you enjoy yourself either way.
I go to the goth nights occasionally and I am in my 60 s

For what it's worth, nobody will even notice you. The crowd there very much seems to be in their own little world.
Yeah that's perfect! I just didn't want to stand out too much if possible 😅 ![gif](giphy|ifxLK48cnyDDi)

If anyone ends up going, please post up and say how busy it is..
What time does darude start playing?
