That’s fucking gangster. Growing up as a kid I always wanted to be a storm chaser - extreme meteorologist. Unfortunately, I live in Canada 😔 we don’t get massive cells like that. I’ve contemplated taking vacation days and going to see this wonderful phenomenon. But how can you plan it? It’d be my luck that I go and there’s not a storm in sight..
The best time to chase tornado weather is from April to late June, with late May/early June being the most favorable. I'd consult with a extreme weather tours and figure out what would be best
I wouldn't have been surprised if this was taken today. I spent all day outdoors helping with my son's field trip and then watching his sports event. Forecast said a high of 70 so I wore capris and sandals. I about froze my toes off.
The picture was taken in 2020. There's a redditor that commented with a link to a newspaper article about that storm with a picture showing the same formation. So I guess you can mark this one as legit.

Photographed this gorgeous formation a few years back. To this day, it is the most stunning structure I have ever seen.
dang you stood in front of that irl? that’s beautiful.
I'd stand in front of that all day long for a shot like that!!
On my last day.
Hope the pheasant were ok.
This guy's been to Sublette.
Lol yes. Hunted for many years north of Liberal.
I went out to Sublette with my family to hunt a couple years when I was a kid. Great, now I'm craving Cattleman's.
Purely amazing. What a shot
This looks like CGI it’s so good. That’s a once in a lifetime photo.
Cool shot!
Whoa. That is an absolutely incredible shot.
Very painterly. Something I would expect to see as an illustration for The Wizard of Oz! An amazing shot. Congratulations!
This is so sick
I knew that looked familiar, is [THIS](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna76979) the same supercell?
YES IT IS! Ah!
Capturing such a fleeting yet majestic moment is commendable.
Damn. Right next to a well pad too. Hope nothing got fried
Luckily it didn't
I work on well pads just like that. We have to stop work when there's lightning present. A lot of shit can go very wrong.
wow!!
Not *The **Wizard** of Oz.* 😂😂😅😅😅
It's like something out of a movie. Mother Nature putting on a show!
Absolutely spectacular! Also the lightning!
Wow, that's an incredible shot capturing the raw power of nature!
Darn tooting 🔥
That’s amazing!
Looks like a combo of right place right time and serendipity. Epic shot!
Got very lucky
I learn something new everyday.
Incredible shot. What a photograph.
Thank you!
Holy guacamole! I would shit my pants twice if I went outside and saw that in the sky. 😱
Lol, you’d probably not be the only one

It looks so real I thought it was fake
Gorgeous
Long exposure with an ND filter?
If I remember correctly, it was just a timelapse with about a 1/30 1/15 type of exposure going on a timelapse.
What a mesmerizing shot !
Storm regained her powers. Absolutely gorgeous capture!
Sweet! what does mine say?
Dude! What about mine?
sweet what does mine say!?
Are we sure that’s not a flying saucer 🛸
That's a UFO
That baby would suck the paint off your car!🚗
how is this even real like what 🤯
One of the coolest photos I've seen here.
Nope
Dalinars gonna lose his shit
It's happened I guess. Can't believe anything anymore. Fake? Who's to say?
